  1. I'd be happy if the work load were shared between both service centers so that instead of some people waiting 2 months and some people waiting 7 months we were all waiting 4 or 5 months. Does that not seem fair to you?

BTW... I have been waiting for six months already and there are some of us that have waited for eight and nine months ... As I have said, the CSC is not that efficient...

  2. This person isn't concerned with VSC's performance, they're interested in not having 'their' date delayed at all no matter what the cost to everyone else waiting at the other service center. The suggestion of hiring more people over at VSC is ridiculous and I think we all know that's not going to happen. Having the work load shared between the two centers is much more feasible and is something that would help everyone to have an even playing field straight away. Nothing horrid about that. We all paid the same amount, and we should be getting the same quality of service. Not to mention that it has been said that all of the protective status requests from Syria were going through VSC only, so yes, they are temporarily over loaded and then why shouldn't the work load be split to make this machine work at the best possible efficiency at both location.

And, yeah, I'm "selfish" because I, after waiting 7 months, feel that we should all be receiving the same kind of service. That certainly makes me selfish. Or wait, maybe bitching and moaning because I applied in June and don't want anything threatening MY date, even though there are people that have waited twice as long without hearing a single word would make me selfish, yeah that sounds more like it.

So when you say... "we should all be receiving the same kind of service"... does it means that you will be happy if everyone, including us at CSC, were to wait for seven months (like you)?...

  3. I don't really understand what many of you are talking about when you value CSC over VSC... It is pretty easy to find a lot of people like me in these forums , that are totally frustrated with the results at CSC... Most of them are waiting at least for EIGHT MONTHS... Believe me, when talking about inefficiency, all of them are the same... CSC SUCKS TOO!!!

  5. That statement on the processing time at the CSC may refer to visa K1 formalities (relying on what persons being served by the VSC are saying). In my case it is an IR5 visa petition by filling I130 and I485 forms. I can assure you that most of us, related to this type of visa processing; have to wait up to nine months, although supposedly the processing time is five months. What I mean is that it is not appropriate to generalize, saying that the CSC is more efficient than the VSC because in this way you can get a large group of people affected, who are in the CSC, join the cause. Insisting that the CSC is more efficient than the VSC in general, is inconvenient for those who are being served by the VSC and also for those who are being served by the CSC.

  6. This is really a very dense discussion. To answer the multiple points of view would likely take several days and lots of words. However, I do wish to express very simply my point of view, beginning to express my sympathy to those of you who are in the VSC waiting for your case to be adjudicated. I was transferred to CSC (I130 I485 concurrent, request for my son) to supposedly achieve faster processing. I have been already waiting for five months and I can assure you that a high percentage of cases similar to mine has waited nine months to achieve a solution. So, why dont we unite and seek a comprehensive solution that achieves the acceleration of the processes in all branches of USCIS in a similar way. It seems to me that in this way we can make more converts to the cause.

  8. Thank you... However, my concern is related to the possibility of having to start the process again after moving, in particular, to have to reschedule the interview and everything else. In short, do the USCIS is going to transfer the entire case to Texas even though it is well in advance in Florida?.

I think you will have to "fall in line" with all the other cases that are submitted to the new district office in Texas. However, any work that has already been completed on your wife's case (fingerprint check, name check, etc.) will be recorded on her case file and she won't have to go through them again.

Did you already receive your notice of initial interview?

Thank you very much... Yes, we already had our interview two months ago. This is our main concern, because we do not want to go through it again. The USCIS hinted that we may be asked to be interviewed again. Does that make any sense to you?

  9. You cannot request a transfer to any service center. You file AR-11 & follow up with an Infopass appt to make sure your address is changed.

  10. No, this is not true. All you need to do is send in your change of address. No need to reapply.

    Thank you for your comment...

I still have another question: If I send my change of address, are they going to transfer the case to the Service Center in Texas, closer to my new address? Or do they have to wait for me to explicitly ask for the given transfer? I would rather not to ask for the transfer because I have read many cases of documents lost in those transfers. Furthermore, we already had our AOS interview in Miami and I hope my case is well in advance.

  11. Hello!!!

I am a US citizen, borned and raised in Venezuela. My mother, a US citizen married to a Venezuelan citizen, reported my birth at the consulate, (consular report of birth abroad). Although I have never lived in the US, I have spent almost all of my vacations there, visiting our family.

I am an engineer and although I am working in Venezuela I am planning to go to the States and raise a family. I am engaged to marry soon with my fiancé, a Venezuelan engineer, who has been my boyfriend for the last four years.

Since I don’t have any financial means; my brother, who lives and works in the US, volunteered to be my affidavit of support co-sponsor. Do I need to declare a domicile in the US before applying for the visa? Since I don’t have one, may I use my brother's address as my domicile?

    Thank you

    L.

First: Can I apply for a spouse visa via Direct Consular Filing?

Second: Since I don’t have any financial means; my brother, who lives and works in the US, volunteered to be my affidavit of support co-sponsor. Do I need to declare a domicile in the US before applying for the visa? Since I don’t have one, may I use my brother's address as my domicile?
