  1. Thanks for your response! I saw that it took people in Germany always about a week to receive packet 3 but for the second last batch it was two weeks. I hoped to be at one week again but I guess that’s not gonna happen. 😉 I just keep my fingers crossed that it comes in soon! Good luck for your interview! 😊
  2. Oh ok, thanks! Never heard of AP in that stage though. 🤔 However, I hope I get the packet soon!!
  3. On the ceac website under immigrant visa. https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==
  4. Thanks! Maybe it's a German thing... 😒 Good luck to you! 🙂
  5. Hi, did any of your cases update every day while it says "ready"? Did you receive packet 3 anyway or did it stop updating and then you received packet 3?
  6. Hi, I have a problem with my DS-160... When I want to fill in my previous employers for the past 5 years it only lets me put in two... I can’t add another one. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, sometimes it doesn’t even show me the „previous employer“ page and switches directly to „the countries I have visited within the past 5 years“. Hope to get it done soon. I‘m waiting on packet 3.
  7. In Germany you can pay as soon as you've done your DS-160 (you need your DS number) but you could also wait till shortly before your interview. :)
  8. Hi! Congratulations! We got approved on December 14 too and our NOA1 was July 18. In our case everything (old website and apps) updated but the new website hasn’t updated.

    SSN After Marriage K1

Thanks so much! Yes, I heard that with the DL too. However, I read that there’s a system with points that shows when I or any other immigrant can get at least a state ID. I will look into it further. Thanks, then I’ll try to get my SSN before marriage (from what I was planning I would arrive only 7 business days before our wedding... I’ll try to arrive earlier) and open a bank account and change my name afterwards.

    SSN After Marriage K1

Hi all, so I don't know if anyone would read this since the topic is from 2015, but I thought I try before I open a new topic. I'm trying to understand if it would make a difference (for obtaining a driver's license or opening a bank account with my future husband) if I apply for my SSN after marriage in my maiden name - if they say that I couldn't apply in my married name because it has to match the name on the visa or whatever. I'll be in New York City, although that shouldn't be different to other states. My problem is that I was planning on getting to the US only 7 business days before marriage because of the end of my employment contract and vacation days. Thanks in advance (if anyone reads this :))!
