  1. We applied for my wife's I-485. Because of all the previous immigration papers (K-1 visa, and all the supporting documents) we used her maiden name on the I-485 application. We were afraid to use her new married name because we did not want to confuse the USCIS. She is now approved and has an I-797 (notice of action) with approval for permanent residence. However, it has her maiden name. How difficult is it to have the USCIS re-issue a new residence card with her married name?

  2. I went to the USCIS Interview with my with wife. The lady who handled our case was extremely rude. No introduction, no greeting and no courtesy. She was vague in what documents she wanted to see and then when I asked a question she made me feel like an idiot. She was on a total and complete power trip for her meaningless life. I finally just let my sweet wife talk with her and then I would only speak up as a last resort. She wanted to deny us on some stupid technicality. I spoke up and said that was not needed for the interview. All I can say was if she denied us I would have sent letters to every government official possible and all of her supervisors. There is no Service in USCIS!

Good luck to the rest of you.

  3. Im sorry to hear that. Just make an appointment at www.uscis.gov and find the INFOPASS. So that you will know what's happened to your Green Card that you will not receive until now.

    Guys

I applied for AOS based on marriage to USC in July 2005. I had my interview in November but still not received any GC in the mail. Recently I had to get my fingerprints taken for the second time for the I485 case. What does this mean? How long to I have to wait before the damn approval? Can anyone tell me if I am in the minority?

    Thanks a lot all
