There’s is no choice of forms for k1 visa. It’s i129f during uscis phase and DS160 during interview phase, so u don’t have to worry about which forms to use.

    Ok noted.

I’ve heard people talking about it being possible on this website but I’ve never heard anyone mentioning being successful doing it. As long as your interview is before the expiration date on NOA2 it’s fine. So you can schedule your interview as far as you can into that date then you would still have 6 months on top of that to enter the country. Like I said before I wouldn’t let it expire or try the extension because you can’t ever trust USCIS.

    Ok, thank u so much..

Is that for the i129f? If so you must schedule interview and do medical. That’s the next step. You can schedule the interview up to close to the date of validity of the i129f and it would take a while after for your visa to be issued. Then after that you would still have 6 months to enter the US. I wouldn’t let the i129f expire or file for an extension because that’s not always guaranteed and you could be facing starting the process all over paying all the fees all over.

Yeah it's for i-129f.  But is extension possible? If yes, how?

"Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:

    • All Indian nationals aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police clearance certificates from the Regional Passport Office.
    • Indian passport holders residing outside India should obtain a statement from their local Indian Embassy, Consulate, High Commission, or Deputy High Commission confirming they have no criminal record.
    • Non-Indian applicants residing in India who are registered with the Foreigner Regional Registration Office (FRRO) should obtain police certificates from the FRRO serving their area of residence.
    • Non-Indian applicants who reside in India and are not FRRO registered, such as foreigners holding Overseas Citizen of Indian status or members of the Tibetan community holding Identity Certificates, should obtain police clearance certificates from the District Police Station serving their area of residence.
    • Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) nationals applying outside India."

They should not request a police certificate when one is unavailable.

Thank u so much Geowrian for the information and the link..

We had a similar issue. My husband had to go to Cotonou to get a police report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or something to do with the judiciary system.  Since India is not close, you can check with their Embassy in Nigeria if they have one. They may be able to help.

I have send e-mails to Indian Embassy in Nigeria and they didn't respond since one month now. I even called them and they said there is nothing they can do. That it's known of their business.

  7. I'm about to go for my K1 visa interview at US Embassy in Nigeria and i have lived in India for almost 3yrs. I called a friend to help me correct a police report from Hyderabad India.  He went from one police station to another and they kept on telling him that they don't issue police report to Foreigners at the police stations. So he was told to go to Foreign Regional Registration Office (FRRO). He reached there, they told him that i have to be there in person.

So right now am in my country Nigeria and confused on what to do.

Pls i need advice from you guys that have encountered something like this either from India or another country.
