Hey, my husband and I recently came home from our interview in Guatemala. We were asked for the RENAP birth certificate, police and court records as well as a photo and the original marriage certificate, everything else they said they had already. We were also asked to show photos of the wedding day and although we only got married at the city hall we had a couple of pictures which satisfied the interviewer. Questions we were asked were: How long have you been married? How many people attended the wedding? How did you meet? What do you do for work? My husband who accompanied me was asked what he did for work. After that we were approved. Honestly they were really nice and as long as you go prepared and answer honestly you'll be good. Good luck! Hope this helps!

Thank you so much! This is incredibly helpful!

  2. Hello all!

We are waiting for my husband's interview date at this time and are looking to prep for the final step of this process! What kinds of questions can he expect? Do we need to provide proof of our relationship even though our I-130 was approved? Will they be examining our relationship? What kinds of things should he expect and prep for during the interview? Anyone who has gone through this process specifically in Guatemala able to offer any insight?

    Thanks!

  3. Hello there!

I am currently working on getting my husband's affidavit of support done on the CEAC. Under the AOS section I am only uploading financial documents both required and supplementary correct? I was wondering if I have to submit the affidavit of support before I am able to submit civil documents? I am seeing the civil documents tab but I am not able to click on it.

    Thank you!

  4. Hello there!

I received my husband's case number this evening from NVC ad was able to log into CEAC and pay the affidavit of support fee as well as the immigrant visa application fee. Once these are processed, what should my next steps be?

When can we go ahead and schedule my husband's medical appointment?

Thanks for all of your support and guidance.

Yes you are at the NVC stage right now,I’m not pretty sure about u calling them within a week I mean NVC to know if they have received it and then you have to wait up to 8 weeks to receive your invoice number or something like that....could you tell me your priority date, service center and when your petition for approved please,,I’m sorry I just want to have an idea cause mine was sent to TSC my PD is feb 27... and congrats on ur approval 🙌

Thank you so much! Our priority date is 12/12/17. Our petition got approved on 6/15/18. Our petition was at the Texas Service Center.

Are you still waiting on your approval?

Your packet has been sent to the NVC for processing. It can take anywhere from a week up until a month or more to actually be received by NVC. Check out some similar timelines for an idea. My husband and I began to gather all the required documents for nvc immediately at that point. Don't forget to look into the embassy requirements as well; not gonna hurt to start preparing for the interview early.

Nvc will receive it but you could wait between 8-10weeks for Your case number and invoice id number which you will get once your file is scanned by Nvc. Call them from time to time with your receipt number to check. They can also tell you if you are pivot or not.

You need the case number and invoice id number to submit documents to nvc wether it be through CEAC or otherwise.

Good luck with everything and congrats on your approval ❤

Im fairly new to this step as well so my info may be incomplete. Search the forums and look for nvc filiers 2018....tons of info.

Thank you so much for your advice and all the info! I feel like they just leave you hanging at this step lol.

USCIS approved my case April 16 but NVC did not receive it until May 11. Then it took another eight weeks to get my case number. It's so frustrating because it feels like three months were just wasted. And yes, sending your case to the Dept of State = sent to NVC.

So if it was already sent to the department of state that it means it was already sent to NVC;)
