I completely understand the work part since I myself had a hard time LDR with my now husband .

So.. I'm gonna ask again since your answer didn't really answer my question:

Before this 1.5 day meeting in person (including the proposal), how long were you two talking online?

Sorry - thought that part was clear in my post already. We weren't chatting before I came to the Philippines. I was talking to someone else and it didn't work out, I met my fiance while I was there in the Philippines.

Before this 1.5 day meeting in person (including the proposal), how long were you two talking online? We try not to be judgmental and of course hope the best for you but if you were the IO, wouldn't you really review your case?? Make sure your fiancé is a real deal and not only using you?

The story is more complicated. I didn't know her before I came to the Philippines... I went there to meet someone else and it didn't work out, I didn't feel that person was genuinely interested in me, so I broke it off with her.

My fiance and I have talked every day since then. Obviously there is no way to know if someone is using you if their plan is any good... but my fiance hasn't asked for any money.

I really don't feel she is just using me based off our chats... If at any point I felt something was wrong I could have requested to stop the process.

I do get why the IO would be suspicious based on our story and short time of meeting... but not everyone in the US has the luxury or flexibility to take off work and stay in the Philippines for a long period of time... 1 week was a stretch for me which is how long I was there.

Hope you guys will be successful but to be honest, I would need real good convincing as a CO that:

    (1) knowing each for a short time isn't toooooo bad but it's number 2 for me (I'm sorry I hope I don't offend you)

    (2) proposing (1 day) and spending 1.5 days togethers in person isn't 'the best'.

But nevertheless, I do wish you both every success ❤️

I understand that may look strange to the CO, I'd have spent more time with her except I met her near the end of my trip to the Philippines. Due to work considerations, I could not stay longer and haven't been able to return, or I would have.

The information that was in the CGI Federal site disappeared ... before it had our visa info K1 and the delivery info... plus fee payment. Not sure if that means anything. My fiance should get her passport back even if it's not approved, but will they use the delivery method we specified for her visa? CEAC also shows an update on the date of her interview in our case, but it just says "Ready"

I've now learned the embassy also kept her original copies of birth certificate, cenomar, nbi and also some copies of the supporting documents.

    Is that normal?

We spent 1.5 days together in person.

Haven't been able to return due to the need to work.

We keep in contact daily on Facebook Messenger, so I provided some of our chat logs including summaries of how long we were video chatting. Also photos of us together were provided.

Apparently they had my fiance write down how we met etc. and I think they took her passport but not sure yet if she means the copy or the actual passport.

Just found out they took her actual passport and cenomar, nbi, birth cert etc. and gave her an IMBRA pamphlet

    Any red flags?

How much time did you spend together in person before filing? How about after filing?

    What relationship evidence was provided?

  8. My fiance had her interview but did not receive an approval or denial. As far as I'm aware no paperwork was provided to her with any other details, so I'm at a loss what to do now other than wait for a decision... which is what the embassy told her to do.

We only knew each other for a short time before I proposed (1 day), from what my fiance said that is what the issue centers around. Really disappointed right now and was totally not expecting this result :(

  9. Good evening all, my fiance has her interview this week and I'm wanting to make sure she leaves early enough to make it on time... but not too early. Her hotel is about 10 min from the embassy by walking or 5 min by taxi... is there a specific spot at the embassy she needs to enter at? The instructions say not to arrive more than 15 min early but does that mean 15 min early in the lobby or at the front of the building?

  10. Thanks guys! Everything I sent was just a photo copy. There is still a chance my fiance might find the package... She is at work just hasn't had a chance to deal with it yet.

The reason I sent a physical copy is because my fiance is not the greatest at computers... we tried to print it before but it didn't go so well. She has printed a few shorter documents since then, and can tell she is getting better at using the computer, so we will give that another go.

If push comes to shove can 2go (or some other company/service) accept documents for her to pick up?

  11. I sent some docs to my fiance's work DHL for her to review pre-interview and to being to the interview (noa2, i29f etc), and someone unscrupulous may have intercepted the package... It was signed for but the guards at her work say nothing arrived.

Is it possible to ship things to a 2go location and have her pick them up there?

Also wondering if there are any precautions I should be taking such as notifying the embassy the docs may have been intercepted.

    Thank you!

You cannot use the nonimmigrant checker...  Use the immigrant checker.  The nonimmigrant one does not work until after the interview and the visa hsa been approved.  Just enter your MNL# on the immigrant side

Thanks. That one still has the "At NVC" status.

Yes .. the K-1 is processed as an immigrant visa, so you will check status under immigrant visa.

You already completed the DS-160, did you print out a copy of the confirmation page?

Thanks Hank! We already filled the DS-160 out and have a copy of the confirmation page.

The CEAC.state.gov/iv link from the (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/after-petition-approved/ceac-electronic-processing.html) page is what led me to the page saying "K visas are non immigrant visas ...." in the photo from my post above. That link appears to be for the immigrant visa and asks you to put in your case # and invoice #.

My fiance is on her way to pay the visa fee :)

  14. Thanks again for all the help. I'm still kind of confused...

I know we can do the medical now, and the e-mail says we are good to pay fees. I've sent my fiance the money, BPI Deposit Slip, and everything she needs to pay the fee. DS-160 is also completed.

Hank's guide says "Once you have your email/letter with MNL# from NVC ..and status shows READY at CEAC .. It is ROCK n ROLL time!! " then mentions paying the fee in the section after this. Does that mean we have to wait until it says ready to pay the fees? Just trying to make sure we don't screw up!

The page below is also confusing on the CEAC web page...
