  1. We filed for my I-130 on April and still no NOA1...we call USCIS and after long time waiting on line they told us they will send us another copy. It's been more then a month! I'm start to worry about this delay!!! I'm waiting for the NOA so I can file for the I-129... Anybody else waiting since april???

Yeah, a lot of people are in the same boat, it's annoying, but what can you do? I'm going to call them today and get another copy of the NOA1 sent out because I never got mine either, and I filed AGES ago.

  2. You can call your bank and most of the time they have a copy of the check either online or at the bank branch or customer service can look at the scan. They would be your best bet.

    Found it, thanks!

"Current Status: Case received and pending.

On April 27, 2007, we received this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case. Please follow any instructions on this notice. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when yours will be done. This case is at our CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates."

Hopefully this means they've technically given me NOA1 and not an RFE or something, because obviously I didn't ever get what they mailed. I suppose I should call them to be sure. I wish they had more information.

  3. I understand now that this is the slow season, and I'm not worried about the wait on my NOA1, however, I've heard you can get a tracking number for it to see the status online if you can get your hands on the cleared check. How do you get a copy of the cleared check? I want to get this tracking number.

Also, I moved last week and I need to know how to let them know I've changed address. My husband in the UK hasn't, but will soon. So, I looked at the USCIS website and they have those change of address links, but it looks like you have to enter your case number, since it asks if you have any cases pending. My question is, do I have a case pending, or does my husband? Is this the right way to let them know I've changed address?

Does anyone know if the delays have just been on the NOA1, or will it be for the NOA2 as well? I'm assuming so, since it appears to be they're just really backlogged with all of it?

    Thanks!

  4. Does anyone have any updates for May applicants like Iam still having? TSC received my I-130 forms May 12 but still my check has not been cashed or hear anything about my NOA1. Anyone else?

I applied back in April, had my check cashed in May, and still have not heard anything back. You're not the only one. This sucks. I'm wondering if I should worry, since they cashed my check about a month ago and I still haven't heard anything.

  5. I was looking through the timelines for some of you guys, and it looks like you all got your NOA1 for the I-130 really quickly, some of you within a few days. I don't have the exact date on me at the moment, but I sent my I-130 well over a month ago, maybe even almost two months ago. My check wasn't cashed til about two weeks ago, and I still haven't gotten any sort of NOA or heard anything back from them at all. Is this normal? Is there any way for me to check on the status of it, like a phone number or email address or anything?

    Thanks for any help!

  6. Do I really need to have an actual copy of it, or is a photocopy acceptable?

I thought a photocopy was an actual copy....

Well, I meant like a certified copy, as in, I'd have to go to the courthouse and pay for a few copies of each.

Anyway, thanks a lot! That saves me quite a bit of time and money. I also had another quick question. I was looking at the form G-325a and at the bottom of the page, there's a heavy black box which says "make sure you put in your alien registration number."

What on Earth is an alien registration number? What am I meant to put there? If I'm missing a guide or something that explains it, please let me know. Thanks!

  7. Hi guys,

I'm sure this has already been answered somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. For the I-130 and I-129F applications for K-3, on the guide page it says to send in a copy of your birth certificate, front and back, and a copy of your marriage certificate. I have several copies of my marriage certificate, but only one of my birth certificate. Do I really need to have an actual copy of it, or is a photocopy acceptable? What have you guys all sent in?

    Thanks for the help. :)

  8. Okay, I realized that after I posted this I ought to just try to do more research, and I pretty much answered my own questions. You can go for either visa, right, like go for the K-3 unless your I-130 gets approved before it does, in which case it'd probably be easier to go for the CR-1 since we won't have to adjust my husband's status.

I think I'm following this correctly. I still have a few questions here and there, but I don't have them clearly in my mind yet.

Thanks! I'm sure you'll hear from me again.

  9. Hi, my name's Josie and I'm new here, so bear with me.

I was wondering about applying for adjustment of status while in the US, as well. My husband is from the UK, we have been married a little over a year. I was living in England, legally, on a spousal visa for a year, but we decided to move here. I've moved back and have been here for several months. We're wondering what the best course of action is. Since we're already married, could he enter as a tourist and then apply for adjustment of status? Or is that risky? How does that work, and are there any FAQs about it? Or is it better legally to apply for either K-3 or C-1 or whatever it is? I've been reading that there's no way to guarantee either one of those is faster than the other, is one of them cheaper or easier than the other?

I was also reading the USCIS website where it lists all the fees for the forms, and most of them don't seem bad, except for the Supplement A to the I-485, which is $1,000. Is that right? Why is that one so expensive, and is it always necessary?

I understand that I can find a lot of this information elsewhere on the website and I've been looking and trying to consider my options, but I am a little lost and I wanted a little personal advice from people who have done this. Anything at all would be SO helpful.

    Thanks a bunch,

    Josie
