Ordinary photo copy is fine.
http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRDUSCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.Thank you very much YuAndDan

I read somewhere on USCIS website that uscis doesn't anymore routeinly require certified copies and a regular copy will suffice. Is this true for AOS. Can I send in a regular copy of our marriage ceritificate with the I485 adjustment of status package.
If I do need to have a certified copy, do anybody know how I can go about to get it.
thanks in Advance.

My wife just called, completed her medical today. She said the Dr told her no vaccinations were required? For K visas are the missing vaccinations done here in the States?
Thanks
I had my medical last December 12 and I was given two shots, one for MMR and one for DT here in Singapore. There should supposed to be one more for chicken pox but I had it already before so the doctor told me I don't have the third shot anymore then.
Yes, you can get the vaccinations here in US, when applying for AOS.

I am trying to fill out the Adjustment of status... and stuck at the part where it asks for the A# if any. For a K3 is that number listed on the Visa under the annotation petitioner:
thanks in advance for your help.

Can you post a sample email for this purpose? Did you have to include the case number in the subject line. What else should be included in the email? Thanks.
Here is the exact email I sent them and the response I recieved from them
Dear Sir/Madam, I applied for K3 visa for my wife. Our case number is

If possible would you also let me know the interview date.
Thanks in Advance,
Sincerely,
XXXXXX

Married in Morocco in November 2006, We applied for a K-3 visa using I129F and I130 petitions.
Mailed them in February and March 2007 One sent to CHicago, one to Nebraska. both were sent to California. we only recieved NOA1 on Both petitions. the papers stayed in Cali until August when they were forwarded to the Portland office. they sat in the Portland field office until last week when I recieved a letter stating my husband and I needed to attend an interview in Portland in December.
well it is impossible for my husband to come to the interveiw! He can't get in the country until he gets a visa!!! DUH!
Does anyone know of this happening to anyone else?
we will have waited 10 months of this nightmare process and still don't know what is going on!
any help would be appreciated
With out a timeline, no way to understand the exact nature of your situation, thus no way for me to help you other then tell you to call the USCIS. Good luck.
The OP gave you a timeline in her post. She is at the "waiting for NOA2" stage of things. Calling USCIS misinformation line is no guarantee of any help....especially if something is hinky in their case.
-P
that doesn't tell me anything..... he/she could have sent I129F before I130 for all I know. Even better, he/she might have filled out I485 instead of I130. With out the actual details and timelines, there is no way to know what exactly happened. so with out all the info, the safest advice I can give is to call USCIS.

ApprovalPlease, are you saying my wife can call mumbai US consulate and set up appointment for interview and request her packet by mail eventhough my packet is at nvc? (13-nov-2007 nvc received date). Thanks in advance...
No, Once NVC sends your case to the embassy, while the case is on its ways, she or you can send an email referring your case number and request the packet via email. I did so with Chennai embassy, and they waited till they recieved the case from NVC and then responded with the email attachments of the Packet and Interview date. Good luck
The reason I said while the case is on its way is, NVC sends the case both via electronically and via DHL, so if they recieve an email from you referring your case number, they know that yours is a valid request since they have your case number on their system and respond positively. If you send your email earlier, since they don't have your case and they don't know when they will recieve it, they will just respond saying, "we don't have your case".

I think this topic is about Craig himself... while the other topic is about his friend.. he just wanted to share that with us..
There was an another Oportunistas post few months back....that is deleted now. .
I should change my name to "ApprovalPlease"... then it will really get messed up here.. I taken a new identity... wooosh!!!nothing wrong by pushing for your approval by changing your name....good luck with that.

I have seen this post before, this guy keeps putting up these posts every few months, I don't why?
Here is one, supposed to be about his friend
Yes, I did post this several months to help a friend who married with a woman from Estonia. His name is Arthur and he lives in Miami. Would you like his phone number? And, they are getting a divorce now. Why did I put the post up? To help someone who was hurting and to give him some advice from this wonderful forum...and because I am a nice gentleman. Is there a problem with this? If so, I will apologize. We are all here to help and support each other...aren't we?
Sincerely,
Craig
hmmmm Craig, I saw your OPORTUNISTAS post few months earlier too, and felt bad for you back then and posted so too. You can delete the post but can't delete my memory. So either you really want sympathy from other people or you got some thing against latin women and want to install doubts in any shaky relationships on VJ, or, You could be a real victim, in which case the burden of proof is on you to explain why you posted this post again acting as if this incident just happened now.

I guess I belong in this thread I just received my letter from NVC today with case number, It was dated 11-13-07 stating that within a week it will be forwarded to Manila.
If they are right they arn't wasting any time.
Yea, usually they don't, once you are out of CSC hands, things tend to go faster.

So, my docs has been received by NVC on 11/14 (Wed). I see that based on current NVC processing speed my docs should be out to Ukraine on Friday.
In order to get information on whether they've sent our docs or not, do I still have to call them? Is there any easier way (it just hard to get hold of someone there)?
After they send our docs to Ukraine, how long does it takes for them to arrive to USA Embassy (on average)?
And, do I call them (embassy) too, to ask if docs were received or they have another process in place?
Also, do you know (when they received our docs) after how many days they will send out a packet to my wife?
And last one, because we already know our case number can my wife get her medical exam done with it, or she should wait for her packet from the embassy?
Thanks for your input.
Your wife needs the Packet for Medical Exam. But, She can schedule it ahead. Also you or she can probably speed up the process by contacting your local embassy and asking them for the interview and packet via email, in which case you can use the print out of the email. Good luck

If you are on Social Security then you can't provide affidivit of Support for her. You need a sponsor to do the affidivit of support for your wife and to vouch that your new wife won't be a burden on the society by claiming welfare or other social benefits. Other than that I don't see any problems here.
Who or how do you plan to accomplish the sponsorship? What will you use for income to qualify as to sponsor your wife? Or is that what you want "waived"?I'd start by clicking on the word "Guides" at the top of any page. Once you have a better idea of the process, you'll probably have some more meaningful questions but the sponsorship seems to be the biggest stumbling block I see.
Based on your story, I wouldn't hold out much hope for expediting your case. Somehow you managed to travel to and reside in the Philippines without a caretaker. Or did I miss something.
Pushbrk,
I understand if maybe you question my validity, I am in no way offended and I reassure you that I have no desire to break any laws. The problems I have do not affect me on a daily basis unless I am put into such situations that one or more of my problems would kick in. Other than that Im about as normal as can be.
I apologize to those who posted on this thread if my question and/or explanation of my question was vague. Simply all I am asking is if I had social security would it have any bearing directly on my future wife's intentions to immigrate back to the United States.
Nevertheless I am sure that one way or another it may become irrelevant to ask about SS and my wife immigrating.

Urge to Race,
I have been a "permanent resident" of the Philippines for roughly 3 1/2 of the four years I have been here, and hold an "Alien Certificate of Registration" I am curious. What I have read on the internet has stated that I must live in the jurisdiction of the Consulate office close to me to be able to "DCF." I know there is a Consulate in Cebu, and I can definitively say that Cebu is disqualified right off the bat. I think there Consular Office of some type at the Embassy in Manila, but I am unsure of whether it falls into my "jurisdiction." What puts that in doubt as well is that I am in the province of Zambales and upon checking I see that Metro Manila is not apart of Zambales, so my assumption was correct. Is there a Consular office of some sort in the province of Zambales......I need to know because I obviously prefer direct consular filing. Ill check back later, but Ill continue to look for myself.
Thank You

Thanks guys, now to my next questions.
Based on what we indicated in one of the applications. We were told that we will recieve her SSN number via mail within 3 weeks after her arrival into US. This contradicts with some of the posts I saw here that indicated that a K3 visa holder won't have a SSN number until he/she recieves atleast her EAD. Which of the above is the truth?
-
Is the I-131 for advanced parole? If so, you definitely do not need to file it.
Yes it is for advaced parole, the reason I am confused is that it is listed as optional in the forum guides (which means some people are filling it out, I am wondering why they are filling it out for a k3 visa). I just don't want to put my wife in a situation where she can't go back and forth if needed, because I screwed up the paper work.
-
Isn't K3 a multiple entry visa for 2 years. if so do I still need to file I-131 along with my I-485. If my above assumption is correct, then which scenario would require a person to file I-131.
thanks in advance.
-
Thanks Guys, Ok, back to filling out the I485 to get the Adjustment of Status.
-
K3 Visa approved Nov 11, entered US on Nov 11th along with my wife. Wohooooooooo. Congratulations everybody else who got their visas and good luck to those waiting.
Lets all stick together and help each other through the rest of the process to get our spouses, Green cards.
What do I do now, to get my I130 started toward the Green Card.
-
Thank you guys, thanks for being there for me all along. Just few more days left and finally we can be together.
Zolanden, Congratulations to you. Considering how slow CSC was, everything else will go much faster. Good luck to you.
-
I got my interview date. Good luck to all of you guys, perticularly to you Jas.

Recieved Interview date Nov1...wohooooooooo

Yea, I hired Murthy Law firm, I filled out all the forms and after two weeks when I asked her when I she will review my case, she said in a week and suggested I pay an additional $750 if I want her to look at it earlier. I realized I just introduced an another bureacratic layer to the process decided to do it on my own. She charged $1000 bucks, even though she didn't even look at my file yet.
I am never hiring that firm again for anything. Forget the $1000 atleast I saved lot of time doing it on my own, instead of using the law firm. They are nothing but over priced paper pushers.
-
Yea Ron, I understand your frustration, but try not taking out on other people, if not, all that effort about getting your wife here might be in vein, if you fail to preserve that relationship.
Majority of American Citizens don't use USCIS and Imigrants aren't exactly the top priority for the govt. Every body here likes to change the system, but it isn't as easy as bit*hin at people that are trying to help you.
Packet 3 from Mumbai??
in K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
Posted
It takes a around 10 - 15 days some times longer. them and send them an email. Tell them you never recieved your packet 3 and you are worried it might have missed in the mail. I know in Delhi consulate, your wife/husband could go personally and enquire about her packet 3, not so sure about Mumbai, may be your wife/husband can go to the consulate and enquire if he/she lives close by. Good luck.
