  1. Hello everyone,

My husband's biometrics appointment is scheduled next month here in Tampa, but he is in Chicago for three months doing sales. What is the best route to take? I need the ability to reschedule in September when he returns. How do I let USCIS know this? On the letter it says to mark the check box to reschedule. Can we choose a time to reschedule or does this work soley on their terms? He cannot do it in Chicago because he has absolutely no time during the day except Sunday to do so.

    Help! Thank you everyone!

  2. Well its called (political Refuse).really they will not take him , All my friends been to the army and they tell me about everything there , they tell them to make 2 lines , the guys whom are married to foreign citizens or have anyone in their family out side egypt come to the right line and the rest to the left line .

then they fill some papers and then give him another date to come. in that date they will tell him one of 2 delayed or refused to enter the army and because he is living in the US for 2 years , he will 100000% be rejected .

and i just wanna know if he is muslim or chrisitian if i may ask.

He is Christian. Does that make a big difference? Let me guess, it will be a higher chance sa7?

  3. well, let me tell you this in easy way , its one of 3 .

1st : come back and show them that he lives in the US and they wont take him anyways because they dont take who is married to any foreign person and who even been to a foreign countries before .

2- wait till he get he citizenship then come by his US passport

3- come after he get 30.

But Sam, I think that they will still take him anyway, even if he has a whole life in the US. I remember the government in Egypt does not care about anyone, even if they are married to a foreign citizen. If they know that, they will take him anyway. How do you know about the first option? Do you have a story kaman? Thank you so much for your response, I appreciate all the help!

  4. That is absolutely terrible!! The paperwork you are talking about...are these papers for the Egyptian Army or papers to fill out on the US side? Also, I have heard that the army can be paid off. Do you know of anyone that has done that? Also, if he applies for citizenship, they cannot take him, correct?

  5. Hello everyone, I need your help. My husband has his green card at this time. When we began the immigration process to get his visa, the Egyptian army granted him permission to travel because he had a medical excuse delaying his education, which means he was still "in school" at the time. It has been about 2 years and he hasn't sent the school anything to continue the delay. My question is, if we were to travel back to Egypt to see his family, could the Egyptian Army take him if he is a Permanent Resident?

    Thank you!

  6. Hey guys, for the AOS interview, we do not have any civil marriage pics as it was a quick civil marriage in Cairo, Egypt. We have yet to get a civil marriage in the US. We will have a ceremonial marriage in Egypt with his family and mine when we can get financials worked out. In the meantime, I have too many pics of him with my family and us going on a few trips here, as well as joint bank accounts and utility bills. Do you think we can make it through without the marriage pics? thank you!

  7. Hey guys...I am starting to get a little worried...we filed our AOS and EAD together and they received them Jan. 14. they sent an RFE on Jan. 17 for more tax info. from my cosponsor. It is now March 14 with no word on if they even received the evidence, and when I call the USCIS they told me there is no way for them to tell if they received it, and to wait 60 days to see! Can anyone tell me if this has happened to them, if it's normal, and if there is a way to find out if they have received it?? thank you all!

  8. My husband is arriving December 2 after finally completing k3 process, and we are about to start AOS...however, I moved from my parent's permanent address about 3 months ago, and it is my parent's address that I used to fill out the visa paperwork. Do I need to fill out a change of address form now to start AOS? Or do I not have to since it will be a new process? Will they compare this address to the one on our visa paperwork? thank you guys!

the USC is required to keep the USCIS informed of changes of address only after an I-864 has been filed.

    thank you!!

  10.:dance::dance: Oh my God, almost the happiest day ever next to when he will physically be in the US!!! Today he received his visa in the evening. Thank you visajourney, and to all of you still getting through this part...hang in there, it's well worth it...sometimes you would be surprised at how much the wait makes you appreciate it even more! Thanks so much guys for your encouragement and everything, you're the best! You won't be hearing any more annoying posts from me for a little while...hopefully lol...:dance::dance:
  11. Firstly, LETS APPLY SOME LOGIC HERE: WHY would they send the passport to the USA??? It is needed by the foreign citizen to ENTER the USA, so it WILL be sent to the foreign citizen.

The visa is printed and applied to passport by the US consulate or Embassy where the visa is interviewed for.

TIMELINES: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list...pt&dfile=No (Approx 2 weeks after interview on average)

What I am trying to ask, because I had read some things online, that sometimes the passport is sent to the DOS, who will put the visa in, and then send it back to the US embassy in Egypt, or mail it to the Egyptian citizen directly. I am not sure if the embassy in Cairo has the authority to put the physical visa in the passport. What I am trying to understand is not the general timeline from visajourney, but what happens at the time of visa issuance, and the process it undergoes up to the point of being mailed. then I need to know an approximate timeline from the time of issuance to the time it reaches the beneficiary. the timelines on this site are not that specific in this particular stage I am in, which is why I would like any specific case examples anyone might have as to their personal situation. I appreciate the response though. I have been waiting almost two months since after his interview, but it is what happens after the officer's final review up to the point of being mailed that I am trying to research.

  12. Ok, so after receiving the message "pending the officer's final review" a million times from the emails I sent to the Cairo embassy after his interview on Sept. 11, I just received a response saying, "The visa has been issued. It will be reviewed and assembled and mailed to your husband later by the DHL." Does that mean that they are still reviewing it? No more security checks? the email before this one they said, "after the review the visa will take about 10 days to reach your husband". Does anyone know if I am in that 10 day period? I really hope so...if anyone has any ideas as to what this means, let me know! thank you!!

  13. Well, after receiving "pending officer's final review" since Romani's approved interview one month ago, I got a "being issued for final review. Once this process is completed, he will receive his visa in 10 days". the question is, has anyone received that response before? And if so, how long did it take to get through this final processing stage? I still want to figure out if he is undergoing security checks. Called DOS, called the embassy, wrote to congressman and senator. Nothing yet unfortunately. thanks guys.

  14. Hey everyone, I know I have been writing this different ways, but I will approach it now from another angle. Let me know if anyone knows...

Ok, so it has been one month and a half since my husband's interview and I keep getting responses to my emails from the Cairo embassy telling me, "pending the officer's final review" even though the officer told him he would receive his visa in a month. So, after reading everyone's response to my emails, I called the DOS thinking that they were perhaps running security checks on him. However, when the woman on the phone looked up his case, it was not in their office for the security checks and they told me that they only had a few notes from the embassy when they first received our case. So I am wondering if maybe he isn't going through security checks if his case isn't at the DOS (because it was to my understanding that they run some of the high profile checks there)??? Or, might the embassy be running them??

I called the Cairo embassy also and after speaking to two people, could not give me any more detailed information no matter how many times I asked to speak to an American, get the name of any officer, or even any specifics on the case. total waste. Any other suggestions or any responses as to finding out the specifics of my husband's case would be helpful, and perhaps helpful for others experiencing delays.

I also want to give special thanks to all those who shared their experiences because it was all of you who helped me figure out some potential ways to uncover the problem! thank you so much, I love you all!

did you call your senator or your congressman they might help you and call the USA embassy to figure out whats going on

Good luck and my best wishes for you

Yes I did write them some emails, my congressman and senator...we will see what happens, but thanks so much!

  16. Hey everyone, it's been about 6 weeks and counting since my husband's interview at the Cairo embassy, and all we have been hearing is "pending the officer's final review". Someone informed me that it might be part of a security check process. Does anyone know how I find out if he is going through these security checks? Who should I contact? the embassy isn't helping too much, and I read somewhere that the state department in the US does them. Please let me know if you have any information. thank you so much everyone!

  17. So please if anyone knows the answer, just let me know...it has been a month since my husband's interview, and he was told he would receive his visa in a month. In two days it will have been a month, and the last two times I have emailed the cairo embassy, they reply "It is pending the officer's final review. We can then process to conclusion." I have no idea how long that takes. A few weeks, a few months??? ohhh man...i'm trying not to be paniky...also, how does that work? Does the officer do a detailed review of the case one last time before the visa goes out? I don't get it. thanks guys!!
