My husband was originally scheduled for his interview on April 2nd and it got cancelled on March 19 due to Covid-19. A friend of his that applied and did his medical exam around the same time as my husband told him that he completed his interview and was told he needed to enter the US before his medical exam was no longer valid on August 6. I’m wondering whether this is true or not since we have not received any phone calls or emails regarding this and the embassy website states that they do not know when they will reinstate routine services. Does anyone know if this is true ? Are they starting to reschedule people little by little ?

HI, Just wanted to share my experience.

I had my visa interview originally March-17, and was cancelled due to COVID. I got a Call from the embassy to reschedule my interview on Aug-27.

I got approved. However, Medical Exams only last for up to 6 months. I was due to enter the US before Sep-4(Final day for the exam to expire). They gave me one month extension.

Note* My Wife is a USC. It seems they are only processing IR1/CR1.

That is pretty fast. Do you know if uploading an updated file sets back the priory date for NVC's review? I had the same issue and been waiting for them to review the updated file for 3 weeks now.

Still waiting for them to review the rejected one... it seems its going to take a while sadly.

    Hi ,

Did you just upgrade and wait most of the time or did you reach out to them and bother them asking for update every month ? Just wondering because I upgraded 24 July 2019 and I reached out to them 2 times. Wondering if they might delay because I was constantly opening requests and it may impact case.

I have seen some people who tried doing same had to wait 5 months.

    Please share your experience.

    Thanks

Calling them will not cause you any delays. My wife did make several calls since the upgrade, even the day before of getting approved she called USCIS to see if they could give any update..

But yeah, they don't give any update just ask you to wait and be patient.

How do I make sure? I thought when I Called then I’d get something in the mail with a new file number. As California doesn’t process spouse of us citizen , I’m still a WAC

You will keep your WAC receipt number. They will adjudicate your case on CSC most likely.

Create an account https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do add your Case Number and see your Case History.
You should have something like this.

Now I wonder if the hold up for mine is because I have not sent the copy of the certificate. Lol

I mean, If you called USCIS, and they confirmed they upgraded you case to Intimidate Relative via E-Mail and physical Mail, you shouldn't;t have to send the certificate over.

They can check it online with your alien number or etc.. They should be able to expedite upgraded cases.. we already been waiting to long.

    Still waiting here..
