Thank you for responding, Loren. I was concerned with me not being a legal resident yet and how that would interfere with me being able to open bank accounts etc. I do not have a SSN and am out of status right now. We'll try adding me to the lease, we were just in a hurry to find an apartment and got it just in her name to speed it up as a lot of places have issues renting to people who are here on visas.

So my wife and I are ready to file for my Adjustment of Status and noticed they ask for proof of joint property etc. Thing is, everything is in her name as I was on a visa and not able to own anything in the US. She totalled her car and had to buy a new one just a month ago and it's in her name. So is the apartment we live in. I also have my foreign bank account I still use to withdraw cash from, so no joint anything. It's been incredibly hectic for us as we moved across the country to a state over 2 thousand miles away, totalled the car when we got here after a meeting with a deer, wife had to find new job, had to get a new apartment so we never even really thought about it. We did furnish the apartment we live in together, but that's about it. What should we do?
