Also when did You get your email that you were approved?

There is alot of info on Expedite at Facebook's March Case Closed and April Case Closed Groups. Answers to your questions have been posted by many who have also expedited. Most, if not all, posts are from petitioners with Mexican beneficiaries. You might want to check those groups out. They have been extremely informative for us.

I completely agree it is complete BS.  If Juarez can't handle the load anymore maybe its time for Mexico to have two embassies for family visa interviews.  They should open up CDMX as another place for people to go to get rid of the backlog.

I applied for my wife on 9/15/17

    approved 3/15/18

    CC 6/29/18

appointment date 10/12/18 Juarez (medical expedite).

Wow! Medical expedite in 4 months. So happy you have an appointment but so sad for those stuck waiting. Mexico has been and continues to be good to Americans importing food, Mexicans working in the country, etc. This is the way America repays their kindness. Really I am truly disgusted at this point. This adminisration is smothering its people.

  3. For Mexican beneficiaries: our lawyer told us on Wednesday that a July CC for a CR1 should expect to receive notice of a scheduled interview in December orJanuary. The actual onsite interview will take place in February or March. That is a 7 to 8 month wait for an interview. If the embassy slows even more over the next 4 months, this wait time will be increased. Unless you expedite your case, which can be done for a variety of reasons, time from CC to interview will be 8 to 9 months. I am so sad for all of the families who will be forced to withstand separation and hardship because of this current adminstration.

😩😩😩 cc 5/9. This is starting to get reallllllly old. According to some people on an April cc Facebook group, nvc is supposedly continuing to schedule interviews for April cc until the end of this week...but who knows what they actually do there

Starting to get old?  Correct me VJers if I am wrong. Is there anyone out there, other than Mexican beneficiaries, with a CC more than "NVC 90 days" old without an interview date today? Please post your beneficiary's country and your CC if you exist.

cr1? i wonder why it take too long for you to have the date

Because March appointments still aren't completed. CDJ is still scheduling late March and it's now September. Mexican beneficiaries are posting in March CC and April CC Facebook groups. Check them out for cita info. Unless you expedite, you will be waiting 7 months. They have been consistently adding an additional month of wait times for citas onto CCs since January. Interviewees have been  reporting the consulate is not busy at all. Does anyone know why the holdup, other than the obvious ... keeping immigration stats down for publicity?

That's what I was asking about expedite for outside normal processing time.   So it does work?   Do you have a sample letter for that?   I'll try when my time comes in November.

Rameda, I think your CC is a few days after mine. When my 90 days is up, I am requesting an Expedite. I will post here once I do. Take the time to carefully read March and April CC Groups at Facebook. It is worth the read. People report that CDJ is not busy at all, and that appointments are being left open for whatever reason. I definitely know one thing: if you do not receive an expedite, you may be waiting 7 months for an interview (proof is posts on Facebook pages for CDJ and CC Groups). If you don't tell NVC that waiting is a problem for your family, then you will be waiting ...a long time.

Read the posts of Alex&Ivan here at VJ. Read the posts of the April CC Facebook group members. Expedite works according to many people. It appears to only be CDJ that is exceeding 90 days in assigning interviews. Gee, I wonder why... At any rate, once 90 days is over and no interview has been assigned, you are eligible to request an expedite for being outside normal processing time. Two members of Facebook yesterday reported receiving expedites for CDJ with no additional information submitted to NVC in their emails. Read the posts and learn from these people. I did.

I called as well still on the wait cc is 04/16 I’m gettin inpatient if we don’t hear anything this round I will try expediting

Read the posts at Facebook April CC Group about filing an EXPEDITE request. April and March CCs sin citas are filing for depression due to being outside normal processing time of 90 days at NVC and still receiving August /September interviews in Ciudad Jaurez now.

  9. All of the facts in your case (differences in color, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, educational level, etc) will be scrutinized by the consular officer. If you can prove with facts that you qualify for your visa, then the Consulate must issue it to you in the end. Whether it is issued to you at the time of the interview or afterwards at the end of the appeals process, that is dependent upon the facts you present to support your case and when you present them. Consult an attorney if you are concerned that there may be 'red flags' in your case that may signal the Consular Officer to scrutinize you more closely. A competent immigration lawyer will guide you into overcoming them, and will help you file an appeal if your case comes to that. It really doesn't cost that much, especially when you consider the rest of your life depends on this visa.

They won't disclose its refused because of the above but they do play apart.  Many people see refusals and age and religion is listed in their NOIR but not the sole reason.  My husbands case was refused because his Ex wife did not update her OWN CNIC and his father did not update the Family registration certificate.  Even though neither of those are required.   Depending on the embassy you can be refused for not having everything neat and tidy.

If you are discriminated against and you can prove it, then file a appeal. There is a process for that. The fact is if you can show proof that you qualify for the spouse visa, then your color, age, sexual orientation, religion, etc. can not LEGALLY be used to disqualify you. We have anti discrimination laws in the US. Consular officers are not inmune to following them. If you were discriminated against and you qualify for this visa, then FILE AN APPEAL. Consular officers are people too, and they do make mistakes in judgement. That is why the appeals process exists.

  11. 14 hours ago, Abies said:

And what about the age difference?

Consular Officers are not permitted to deny a visa based on discrimination of any type (gender, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, etc.). They are permitted to deny for failure to demonstrate a bonafide relationship. People get married for many different reasons: love, arrangement, timing for various benefits other than immigration, etc. As long as the relationship is real and the couple intends to stay married and can show proof of the bonafide marriage, then your color, age, sex, religious beliefs, etc. are of no consequence.

    Hello Everyone!

    Today we were approved!!!!!😀😀

Our CC was April 19th and we requested for an expedite at the beginning of August since in seemed that Juarez was waaaaaay backed up on interviews. Thankfully we got approved for the expedite and now approved for our visa at the interview in Juarez.

Planes tickets have already been booked so the countdown begins!

    15 more days :jest:

I will post a longer explanation of our journey in a different post. Thank you all for your helpful tips and guides through this process!!! The wait was long but it was soooo worth it. Good luck to all of you!

You are my hero Alex. I hope all US petitioners with beneficiary interviews at CDJ read your posts before they wait excessively long for their interviews. If all request expedites, the government will devote resources to the CDJ consulate to remove the backlog of cases from March on awaiting interviews! If you don't complain, how will they know there's a problem?

My cc is April 16 and I still have not heard yet so hopefully soon

If you're waiting for CDJ, you need to read Alex&Ivan's posts. She had CC April 19, requested expedite early August for being outside normal interview processing time and had her husband's interview today. He was approved. See page 136 here.

Still waiting..... cc 05/03. For ciudad Juárez 😥

Us too (cc 27 July). On the Citados... Facebook group page CR1 applicants with US petitioners are reporting Aug and Sept interview dates for cc's received in March and April. Appears more April and also May cc's will be scheduled for Sept thru Nov. The waiting for CDJ is sooooo long but you are close to receiving your date, probably at the end of Aug when they schedule again!

Thank you! My husband was excited when I told him he got a cita date so soon from the expedite 🤗 and I filled for the expedite under financial reasons and safety reasons due to being in financial stress. I have $30,000 from student loans and about $15,000 in animal vet bills from an ex boyfriend who is now a stalker. I showed evidence of my current pay against the debt I pay and it would cost me over $3000 just to move to a different apartment. I also explained when I renewed my lease last year I chose the 10mo contract thinking my husband would have already been here July/August. Who would have known that Juarez would be backed up 6-7mo in giving interviews a year ago 😕 The first email I sent I did not include the supporting documents and got denied but the email I sent 5 min after with the supporting documents attached got approved 🤗

    Hola Alex,

Two items because I sympathize with you...

One, be sure your esposo understands green card laws. He will want to help you but he can't work until you pay for and he receives his green card. You know Americans are concerned about illegal work. Be sure he can explain his future green card plans and has proof he can pay for it since you reported financial distress.

Two, be sure your esposo understands the laws on defending you against your stalker. Laws in Mexico, especially in the Pueblos, are different.

    Safe interview and safe journey!

    Hello,

Trust you have been doing good? I can imagine how the backlog your consulate is experiencing can really be draining. Hopefully it gets cleared in a few weeks.

    All the best.

Thanks Abies but I think we will be lucky to get ours before Christmas. Yours is coming up soon, and I know you will receive an easy interview and enjoy a beautiful life in California! You have been so helpful to me and everyone else here.

    @MartinyMi

Hey, thank you for that info, I’m positively going crazy over here waiting to hear something from someone on here!! Could you send me the link for that Facebook group? I can’t seem to find it.

    Thanks again!

I know - this process is like torture the whole way!

The url for the group can be found by Google search:

facebook group citados al consulado en cd juarez

I am on Mexican internet. So the url is probably not useful. The group is closed. You need to send a join request when you get to the FB page. I just told them my Cc date and that I was awaiting an interview. The page is very helpful for visa applicants because it additionally gives info on taxis, hotels, rentals, the medical appt, etc.

That's awesome news.   My lawyer told me I should be getting interview end of November.   Hopefully that is true.   However, it doesn't seem like it.

    Buenas tardes Rameda,

When was your CC? Mine was 27 July. For CCs in January, it was a 4 month wait for a CDJ interview. In February and March, it became a 6 month wait. April and May CCs are not reporting even interview notifications. I hope your lawyer is right, too.

I finally got an interview date 🤗 I requested for my case to be expedited after seeing an online post and having a "nothing to loose" attitude after reading it and it got approved!

    Consulate is in CDJ

    Case Complete: April 19th

Got Call to Schedule Interview: August 7th

    Interview date: August 24h

Bienvenidos a EUA! What reason did you use to justify your expedite?
