  1. I just received my CRI89 number.....my actual case number.....by email. And it wasn't because of the service request I put in last week. I had called USCIS about 2 weeks after getting my NOA1, asking for the case number. Couldn't get it. Last week, I called again (and couldn't get it again) but found out that you can email them if the phone service can't resolve your problem within 30 days. So I emailed the CSC and explained about my first call (meanwhile 30 days had passed) and within 1 business day, I got my reply with my CRI89 case number.

Wheeeeee! If anyone needs details, let me know, I'd be happy to help.

What's the email you write to?

  2. I know some of you like to have all the data, so FYI I filed today, MAy 19th at the California Service Center. Sorry but don't have the time to add to your chart just yet.

  3. I just got the letter that the consulate is ready for our new appt anytime! We have completed our 3 year ban and now we are ready to continue with the process! Yahoo!!!

wow I just looked at you timeline. that must have been super super frustrating and over something small like that. good luck!!!! makes me nervous that there could be something that they ask that my fiance will respond wrong to and thats it.

Well just make sure at the medical that all answers to any drug questions is NO! Tell him/her not to play around with the medical appt because they will screw you if they can - just say no and don't let them intimidate, that is my advice and he will do fine. The answer is NO!!! Make sure you drill this into your fiance and you won't have any problems, good luck. I wish someone would have told me the same back when we went the first time. They will try to persuade him/her "it's ok, you can tell us the truth, nothing will happen etc etc etc..." pay no attention, they are not your friends, they are working for the gov't - your fiance is only a piece of paper to them so heed my advice and good luck! :)

Janet, we started our process at the same time, and I am SO happy that you guys can finally reapply, because I can't imagine what torture it has been for both of you...it's been almost 3 years!!!! Felicidades! Happinesses!

  4. Hi All;

Well we have 2 more months to wait until we can call for our 2nd interview - that was a long 2.5 year wait - *phew* but we are still together amazingly. I hope everything goes ok this time. I have to call January 2nd for a new interview, does anyone have an idea of how long the backup is when you call in for a new appt? This is for the K-1 fiance visa.

Janet, I can't believe it's almost time! For you I'm sure these 2.5 years have been excruciating, but I feel like they've flown by! You guys are amazing! I just know that if we'd had to wait to years we would have been done. Congratulations on lasting and getting ready to refile. I hope your next journey moves MUCH more smoothly!

  5. I know this is not something you guys are thinking about at this point but TRY to get a copy of your physical to carry with you from Juarez. The ONE Civil surgeon withing hours of here is making Roberto pay again for another physical. They insist that they will not fill out his records for AOS unless he has it redone. I have seen several forums on VJ that talk about the Civil Surgeons so it is not uncommon for them to ask that you do it again even though USCIS does not require two physicals. It is costing us another $300.00 and two days of tests and shots.

If you haven't already done this, there are doctors that will sign you off after seeing your documentation, and you don't have to get more tests/shots. There's a thread on here about it..... we sent off to one in Texas. I wish I remembered who, but it's been quite a while. I got the infohere on vj, though

  6. We are stuck here till at least Monday. DHL still does not have his visa. I guess all we can do is wait.. UGHHHH

Yadi got her visa on Thursday Nov 19.....SHE IS FINALLY HOME WITH ME

WE ALREADY APPLIED FOR THE MARRIAGE LICENSE....I AM STARTING ON THE AOS FORMS...

DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT PROVIDING VACCINE INFO, SINCE K1 VISA HOLDERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE ANOTHER MEDICAL (IF WITHIN 1 YEAR OF ENTRY)?

THAT IS WHERE WE ARE AT!!!

I HOPE YOU GUYS ARE DOING GREAT....IT REALLY SUCKED DOWN THERE.

You don't need a physical, but you DO need either the vaccinations or proof of having had them. There's a thread on here about a doctor in Texas that will convert the information onto the correct form for around 20 bucks, but darned if I remember who or where!

  7. By what i read online, the police certificate from Mexico is not available, and for that reason is not required. here is the link http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciproc...ocity_3622.html

Interesting. I would get it either way just in case. It's really easy to get them and it's free. Better to have more than less for this kind of paperwork.

    Cheers everyone and good luck!

you can't get these in all parts of Mexico and it's not necessary for the Visa process at Juarez. (Unless things have changed in the past few years, which I doubt)

  8. Hey Guys!

Glad to see people are recieving their NAO2 approvals around the same time :star:. I really feel like I have some people to relate to as far as a timeline. I just recieved my NAO2 approval via e-mail last night 7-16-2008. I am planning to make my trip to Juarez, HOPEFULLY with no out of the ordinary paperwork delays, the last week in August. I am pregnant and the baby is due September 24, 2008 so I am a little scared to go anytime after that for fear the baby will come early....haha. I am lucky to enough to live in Phoenix, Arizona so I can drive to El Paso, not having to fly. I just had a couple questions maybe you guys can help.

    1. I haven't sent in the I-134 form for Affidavit of Support form yet anytime during this process. Is this something the NVC will request for? Or do I just bring it to Juarez when I go, to give to my fiancee?

    2. Are any of you dealing with possibly having to apply for any type of waiver? My fiancee unfortuntely EWI to the US twice once, when he was 17, but only stayed for less then 5 months. Then again that same year, this time 18, but only stayed less then a month in the US. He has not been back since. I believe he is not inadmissable for overstaying in the US. BUT, always a but, he tried to EWI 3 times in June 2007 to be with me. He got caught everytime. He believes they were just catch and releases becasue he was never asked to sign anything. He did get fingerprinted though. So don't really know what happened.......

Also, when he was here the first time, 3 weeks after turing 18, he was arrested for possesing a fake SS card and green card (all numbers used on them were fake, not of an actual persons). He never presented himself as the fake people on the cards, while Tony was being searched they found them in his wallet. November 1999. He was charged with a class 4 felony for forgery, but never resolved his ticket. Now it says that the case (I have a certified copy to take with me to Juarez) is satisfied with the courts. There are no pending charges against him. I am not sure what they will say. I know they are pretty easy on certain types of tickets, but that type I am not sure....I thought it was stupid he was even charged in the first place because so many people use those cards to work. That is why he said he had bought them in the first place. Any suggestions or comments? Do you think he will have to get a waiver? If so, what type? I don't if I should start preparing a HSL for a waiver or just a letter explaing the situation of the incidence and his apologies? I don't know. Anything anyone has to say will be much appreciated!! Thank you again!

you're going to need an overstay waiver. I think www.immigrate2us.net has more information on that. You should probably consult an immigration attorney....your case isn't as straightforward as many of the people on this site. Buena suerte!

  9. As per the California DMV website, her foreign driver's license is valid. You may want to check with your insurance company to see if she can be insured. Some companies do this. In California, you can't get a driver's license until you have an EAD or Green card, social security number or not. You should be able to get an SS# without an EAD though, we did it almost immediately with no problems. Apply for the EAD ASAP so that you can get the license and start studying the book...Remember that they will test her on hand signals and the like.

  10. Helmut & Bee....

I contacted my (and yours, if you live in Torrance) congressperson's office, as we also haven't had a touch since biometrics in January. Their office contacted USCIS and was told that AOS applications are taking between 9 and 12 months.

It seems like the Los Angeles local office, where our cases are probably located, is WAY overloaded.

I've basically decided not to worry about it, and I don't log into VJ ever (well, today was the first time in a very long time) nor do I check status on USCIS. We've got AP and Work permit, so we're just sitting tight.

another touch today but still no updates..

    Earmuffs,

At least they are touching your file. Apparently they are afraid to get their fingerprints on our file.

Are you seeing the "touch" on the USCIS website, or are you receiveing the notes via e-mail?

Even though we have had the Bio, the USCIS site still shows their original "file received & pending" notice.

    Helmut.

  11. Will my fiancee have any problems going to Juarez by herself? She is scared but the flight for me to accompany her to Juarez would cost something like 6 to 800 dollars and we want to save that for AOS. Our plan is for her to fly to Juarez on a Monday and get situated and pay the Banamex visa fee the first day. Second day, Tuesday, handle the medical procedure and pick up the results. Wednesday, day three, have the visa appointment and hopefully pass. Then either fly to Michigan the same night or wait until Thursday, which would be the fourth day. Do you think she can handle everything by herself?

There's no reason she shouldn't be able to. Just tell her to be careful and not wander at night by herself. She doesn't need you there for anything, and they won't let you into the embassy or the medical, no matter what. You'll just be sitting around going crazy for two days.
