The stamp is no longer used for authorization for K1's regardless if they stamp it or not. Adding - there is a pinned thread in the EAD forum on this topic!

Hello peeps. Today is a nuuu day!
-
That's why I never watched Buffy - I thought it was juvenile. Maybe I should check it out if it gets better in later seasons.
-
Lost Boys was great though

General chit chat? Cool. Does anyone else thinks its sad that Montel Williams is doing TV ads for MoneyMutual.com? Not that he was a big shot before but that is just low.
Has to pay his bills somehow! Like Catherine Zeta Jones and her phone contract?
-
sheesh - it's getting hot up in here!
-
I am really partial to cockgobbler. It's the coming together of the consonents I believe. Yes, I believe that's it.
Wait - is that a swear?
-
####? yes, #### it.

So, as a K-1 holder, I can legally work with a I-94 and a SSN? When my I-94 expires, then I'll need an EAD to continue to work legally, unless my boss doesnt care. You'd thinkd that the US government would make working legally easier for us, considering working illegally, which most of us do, we don't claim out income on taxes...I wonder how much the US loses every year in tax revenue due to the complicity of loopty loops they put us through.
IF you can get an employer to hire you WITHOUT the documentation to prove you're authorized, then it seems you can work legally. The clincher is finding an employer who will accept that.
-
i believe the number of days is 14 days prior to expiration of youur I-94 in order to get a ss#.
as long as your I-94 is valid and IF you can find an employer willing to hire you without any documentation that you are authorized to work, go for it, however once your I-94 expires you will no longer be authorized to work and will have to wait for the EAD for the authorization to resume.
-
karen - you probably should have bolded a few words prior to that. not that this discussion needs to keep going and going, but seriously, 2 months is not an inordiante amount of time in which to wait for some action be it biometrics, transfer, or interview letter, is it?
this whole thing started i guess because i wanted to know what ajmc wanted after only two months, same as sarahsmiles. i merely was posing a suggestion to relax, and guess what? same day after 3 posts from ajmc's worry she gets her interview letter!
-
why do people think that?
I guess they think it for the same reason that seems to be upsetting everyone...because a lot of cases DO seem to be getting approved in 30 days, as rebeccajo said.
nah im not upset.

Hmmm, great. The USCIS website says that my DO is now processing EADs with a receipt date od :BO1@L30, 2006. Thanks, that makes eveything so much clearer.
you should be looking at NBC's processing times for EAD. It states 10/30/06 at this time.

If all that had been said was "OMG what the heck are you worried about," then I wouldn't be participating in this conversation. And I don't think that lending a little support is molly-coddling. That's the way I see it.
what IS it exactly that I said that was so offensive? there were 3 posts by ajmc stating she wanted some kind of action in her case.... um again. just filed 2 months ago, relax! I was making a correlation that people assume to have nothing happen = stalled case. why do people think that? you even said yourself you wanted to be sure your case wasn't rotting somewhere!
peeps need to chill.

ah well, can't please everyone. was fun anyway

It's not exclusive to immigrant drivers....jeez..get a sense of humour people!! I am 100% sure the poster (who is obviously joking so lighten up!) meant 'they' as in PA drivers as a whole, not 'they' as in immigrant drivers only. I know that because no one can drive or knows how to signal a turn in Charlotte, NC also (apart from me of course)
Remember, if you don't smile at jokes & you take everything seriously and be totally humourless, you might even get a job with the USCIS...wouldn't that be nice....!
oh my bad, really thanks for clarifying this. its so glaringly obvious that what is quoted below is a joke.
Glad you found the correct info, although it would make for pleasant driving in the state of PA if only citizens were allowed to drive. -
And before I get slated for calling some of the drivers idiots...............since when when did learning to drive involve holding a cell phone to one ear with one hand, drinking coffee with the other.....ah now it just came to me why they dont use turn signals its because they dont have a free hand to use the lever....
and this is exclusive to immigrant drivers HOW?

it's your own fault... you didnt tick the obligatory BJ section on your AOS form in order to get transferred to CSC. I dont know what to tell you other than stop complaining, others obviously had "perfect" submissions and ticked the right boxes.
That's plain rude

Screw you. I don't want fries anyway.

Yup that's the pinned thread. There are many on the subject - but that one is the easiest to find and isn't 100 pages long
