  1. #1 Uscis sent email saying everything sent to NVC

#2 About 3 weeks later got email from NVC that was received and would be sent to Embassy in Brazil

#3 About 3 weeks later got email from Embassy in Brazil saying received with instructions on everything they needed, how to get medical, how to make appointments, DS-160 website, etc.

just to be clear, they did not send me anything as far as forms, 134 (you can get that done while you wait, need to get that out of the way), they just sent list of what they wanted for interview and how or where online to go to set it up

and to the point of the previous responder, each country is different. Goggle US Embassy Mexico K 1 visa

to find out ahead how they handle hints.

    Good luck

  2. My fiancé is in Brazil. The NVC sent an email to me at about 3 weeks after the NOA2 that they had the packet, and about 3 weeks after that the Embassy in Brazil sent me an email that they had my packet and we could start the process of filling out the DS-160, making the appointment for the interview, getting medical, etc. etc.

So was about 5-6 weeks from NOA2 to Embassy receiving the packet from NVC.

  3. Be sure you return the two or more pages they send you because those pages have the bar code they need to continue. Make copies for  yourself, but send back the pages they send you, a cover letter explaining what you have supplied to comply with their request, and thank them in the cover letter for giving you the chance to resolve the issue.

So you need the papers they send, a cover letter, and whatever evidence they are asking for.

  4. Sept 24     Called doctor, set up appointment for labs and the consult with doctor. Must finish with doctor 1 week before interview)

After waiting so long, I wanted to get things done very fast, but I decided to take a breath and planned the interview out about 6 weeks to give my fiancé plenty of time to get everything together (police reports, birth certificate, etc, etc)

    Good luck.

  5. I just finished setting up appointments for interview and BIO (fingerprint/photo). They are now separate (as of August 28) in Rio. Here is my timeline.

    July 19         129F Approved

August 7      Email from NVC saying they received packet from USCIS

August 28    Email from Rio Consulate with info about what is needed, how to set up appointments and details about medical

Sept 21         Went online and filled in DS-160, paid fee of $265 and set up one appointment for Bio (fingerprint/photo - said would only take 10 minutes - offsite - not at Consulate) and another appointment for the actual interview.

    Sept 2

  6. I assume that only the children traveling with the K1 parent need to supply a birth certificate. I just sent the package to my fiancé and our intent is to only have the birth certificate of the child traveling. We will file a DS-160 under the "follow to join" option for her older child at a later date, which will then require us to provide all of the documentation for him.

  7. For what it is worth, we just finished the process and have appointment for interview. My fiancé has never has a "normal" job. We said no on the 129F and  stated that she did odd jobs, make jewelry, did makeup for weddings. This was all true. Formal jobs are very hard to find.

No problems at all on approval.

So just be honest, don't make up stuff. Just tell that she did odd jobs, etc. and all will be fine.

  8. I just finished filling out the DS-160 for Brazil. When you fill that out, it will ask about any children and if they are also coming. Then you must fill out a DS-160 for the child.

There are two things I needed in Brazil to bring her child.

#1 The father had to go with her to the passport office to get his passport

#2 Most countries will require a statement from the missing parent, notarized, saying that the single parent has his permission to take the child out of the country. It is not part of the Visa process, but the airlines and customs will not let you leave with the child unless you have that document. I assume there is something similar in Russia. It seems to be part of an international agreement. There were forms that I downloaded that were Brazil specific. Search for INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL FOR MINORS WITH ONE PARENT.

    Hope it helps.

  9. We have gotten approval of the I-129F. We are getting ready to set up for the interview. My fiancé has 2 children. One will travel with her, and one will follow to join. I am not sure of the process. I think I understand we need to fill out a DS-160 for her and the child that will come with her, and set the appointment for both together. As far as the child following to join, do we fill out a DS-160 now and indicate he will follow? Or is there some place on the DS-160 to say she has a child that will be filling out a DS-160 later? Or do we fill out a 160 for all three then indicate the follow to join at the appointment part of the process. She will be more lost than I so I am trying to make sure I have a handle on everything. I looked at a sample 160 and don't see anything about it. Please clarify if you have experience. Although my attorney is not handling this part, they indicated that I would indicate the follow to join option on the 160. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
