I need some help here for a friend of mine..., I hope you guys would come up with an idea to deal with this case

She came here to the USA with an invitation from a Non Government Organisasion for a training (Im not sure what kind of visa does she have)..., and then she met this guy who is an LPR, and now planning to get married..., her visa though, will be expired on dec the 2nd...,

So my question is...,

Is it possible for them to get married before her visa expired and adjust her status??

I read somewhere in this forum, overstaying is forgiven in the case of marrying a USC..., is this statement also right for marrying an LPR??

NOA1 : Aug 27, 2007

BIO : Aug 31, 2007

EAD Approval : Sep 19, 2007

AOS Transferred : Sep 24, 2007

Yesterday I received a notice in the mail telling me that our application has been transferred! I don't know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing LOL.

An update for me PaulineA - Received NOA dated 8-27. Biometrics scheduled for 09-12.

When I go to the biometrics appointment I need to take my passport or other form of picture identification. The thing is I haven't had my new name put on any of my ID yet. Do you think it would be OK to take my passport or driver license in my old name, and bring my marriage certificate to prove name change? Thanks.

Yes, you have to bring your passport or driver license and also your marriage cerfiticate with you to prove your name change. That's wat i did on my bio and it worked good...

NOA1 received today for both I-130 and I-485!! I can't believe it. Our check hasn't even been cashed yet! What a huge sigh of relief that they've at least received it and accepted it.

Notice date of August 31st.

Not able to track it online yet.

I had my biometrics done yesterday..., it was quick and painless...,

Just as a remainder for other lady in vj, dont forget to bring your marriage license..., coz when i got to that appt, the security officer said that my last name in my passport is not the same last name as in the appt letter..., i gave him my marriage license then everything solved

Another good news for me and hubby, we can check our case online rite after few hours after bio..., and today..., one day after the bio, i got my NoA1 for both AOS and EAD dated 08/27/2007...

Seems like all in the same times..., i hope it will continue to other steps and i hope you all also get a good news soon

My checks for the i-130 and i-485 (plus bometrics) were cashed on Friday and today I had a letter from USCIS confirming my biometrics appointment. But I did not receive anything else: the much vaulted NOA1??? Is this unusual?

Also the case number does not seem to show up on the case status system. Do I eed to be worried at this point?

I only just moved into my new apartment a few days ago, is it possible that the NOA1 could have been returned?

I also received the appointment notice but no NoA1 yet. And, it also doesnt show up in the case status system. I called USCIS the guy said my case in being proccess...

We reived our letter for biometrics appointment on 9/4 and the notice has an Application Number MSC07XXXXXXXX.

It this our NOA1 or is there another letter for NOA1?

I dont think thats an NoA, bcoz NoA1 should be I-797C, but i believe that you received ASC Appointment Notice (the same as i did).

Im not sure if there will be another letter for NoA1, i just wondering if you can check you status online in USCIS website.

I've tried several day to check my status but i got 'validation error' message...,

Now i know the date they received my petition, it was on 22nd July 2007

Its getting weird now, coz i received the ASC appointment notice for biometric today, but i haven't received NoA 1.

OOppss my mistake, i mean the EAD, I-765, not the I-130 (dunno y i come with that number... )

Im sorry guys, but i dont know when exactly they received my package..., i didnt request for delivery notice or somethin (which i regret)..., the only thing i know for the moment is that they've cashed my checks...,

Errggghh..., its really stressful to wait for the NoA!!!! i check my mail box 4 times a day, can you believe that??
