Another unfortunate California service center casualty here.

Filed I-130 for Spouse living abroad as Permanent Resident.

    PD Jan 16 2018

California Service Center processing time is 16 - 20 months. :(

Visa Bulletin for July 2018 "Dates For Filling"  which is currently being used for Family sponsored suggest F2A for all other changeability is 01 Dec 17.  :)

In a couple of months if my PD becomes current but I-130 still not approved then what happens? I read on the forms that beneficiary  adjusting status within US can file I-1485.  That does not apply to us?

I see folks who filed in early Jan 2017 in CA Service Center finally getting approved in this thread so looks like 2019 for my case?

    Thanks.

It does not apply to you since your spouse is living abroad. I am in a similar situation with a April 2017 PD.

The date for filing is only applicable if your spouse is already living in the US.

  2. Our PD is 20-Apr-2017 for F2A India with Consular Processing. I live in New York State but as luck would have it ours went to California, which has the longest queue.

I am eligible for applying early for my citizenship next week. We are expecting our child end of this year. The process for bringing a child over is pretty convoluted, since the child of a US Citizen is no longer a derivative and would need separate I-130 filed.  Calculating the time required for I-130 approval for the child, it feels more logical to hold off on the citizenship and wait it out in this F2A process.  My attorney was guiding along the same lines.

Good to see a few days movement in the Final Action dates for F2A India in the July bulletin.

    Hi ImmaR,

Don't lose your hope, it still moves 1 day at a time, that particular movement is made by the coding in the website. Right now it is already on October.

However, the recent update of dates is the first that has been made since the new website was implemented. USCIS has been spending time and making a lot of changes in the last few months, they just need to be settled and move things again.

I would estimate for your case to be processed around September or October this year. I sincerely hope to be wrong, and that it gets processed before that, but it gives us strength to have a date in mind, a date of the time we would have to wait.

Thanks for your response, Tenreyro. I hope that your estimate or earlier works out for us.
