  2. Hello everybody!!!!!

I am sooooo happy to inform you all that after months of waiting, I finally got my approval!!!!!, date of decision: 02/08/2012!!!! that's a wonderful Valentine's Day gift!!!!and the best part was that we didnt have to go for an interview!!!! i was almost 100% sure, we needed to go for an interview because I had one back in Peru when I got my fiance visa. But, having the letter with me and reading over and over:

"Congratulations! Your request for the removal of the conditional basis of your permanent resident status has been approved. You are demmed to be a lawful permanent resident of The United States as of the date of your original admission or adjustment of status.

You should receive a new Permanent Residence Card, form I-551 )green card), within 60 days. Your card will include a mailer, form I-797D, with important information about your status, responsabilities, and permanent resident services available to you"

Please update my status!!! and I hope i see more approvals this week!!! the Vermont Center is finally moving!!!!!:dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

  7. Well today I went to SS Administration and I changed or updated my card.

Susita, it didn't take me that long. Of course when I opened the door and I saw like a hundred people in the waiting area I almost walked away but since I wanted to change the information, the waiting wasn't that bad. I think I waited 15 or 20 minutes. I never said I was married, I just showed my green card and the guy proceeded to change the information. He told me I will receive a new card (same number) without that famous sentence. But he kept the card. He gave me a letter saying I would receive my new card within two weeks.

    So it was easy!!!

  8. Hello everybody!!!

I have my conditional american residency card and now I am trying to replace with old documnets. One of them is my Social Security Card. I had my SSCard before I married my husband and it said "Valid for work only with INS authorization". I don't want to change my last name (I want to keep my maiden name)...so my question is: should I apply for a replacement of SS card so that message won't be there anymore? or should I keep my old SScard since my last name would remain the same? Please help me....I am confused!!!!

    Thanks!!!

    Vicky
