My wife only received the letter indicating her N-400 interview would be on July 10.  She did not receive anything

about a combined interview.  When she received her 551 stamp last month, she was told by the USCIS officer

that both her N-400 and I-751 petitions had been combined at NBC and that she would be having a combo interview.

It seems some people get a letter indicating they will have a combo interview and some don't but still have a combo

interview.   It seems that USCIS does not have a standard yet for how to deal with combo interviews.

    Good luck everybody!

Thank you so much for info please update me as well. from my understanding . since they dont mention pending i 751 when they schedule n400 interview . they most likely will adjudicate both cases in same time. it doent mean they have to  interview us on pending i 751. the main thing  is N400 interview  .But you never know so it always good idea to go with our spouses. they can stay in waiting area whenever needed they can join to interview.

Do you think I should call also?

Before my interview? Is in 8 days... Or should I just bite the bullet and go for it?

I filled in los angeles i751 and n400... last updated on i751 was in may saying got transferred to NBC. I have n400 interview in 8 days says nothing about my ROC

i know your cases are similar to mine. i dont think 8 days will be enough to get response from them. you can use my case as an example and go with your wife to have peace of mind.  please  update me after your interview. good luck from now.

This is great thanks is exactly what I needed to hear! Blessed be!

Cause I wanna take a copy of the marriage certificate that I did via the consulate of Brazil registering my marriage in Brasil.. I will take the copy of the doc and translation of it, And then my new brazilian passport has married name on it versus the old Brazilian passport that I have to bring as is what I used to enter US does not... So that should be enough proof that my doc is truthful

you welcome. after talking with tier 2 officer on June 30th 2018 about my I 751 i received a mail saying that my both cases will be adjudicated in same time!  so i was right about bringing my wife for my N400 interview . i am hoping to done with this process asap.

Got it! Thank you so much for the info! Good luck to you as well!

Also I did submit supporting evidence on n400 online such as bank statements/rent receipts/ internet/ electricity bills/ irs returns copies that I got from their online website

If I print copies of what the IRS provides online is that enough to bring?

Likewise for my bill copies and statements, printing them from online system should be enough right?

Cause they say ''bring originals of all submitted'' but I guess that only goes to docs right?

    Just wondering..

if you applying based on 3 years rule you just need to bring your spouse  original  marriage certificate, birth certificate ,if any divorce  doc. the rest doesn't have be original

Hey guys so I also have my i751 still pending applied in CALIFORNIA service center in NOV 2016.

I applied for n400 under 3year rule in NOV 2017..

On 05/2018 I got a letter saying my I751 was transferred to Lee's  summit MO I believe which is USCIS NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER? to ''speed up processing time'' as it states on letter

on 06/10 I got my interview notice for N400 which says I will have interview on this month the day 16. It does not say anything about ROC/I751 on it...

It only says bring your green card/ spouse birth certificate/ marriage certificate...

I been assuming it will be a combo interview but I heard negative comments saying I must get a lawyer and ask for a combo interview? I won't get an interview because they will have to wait for a decision from that office my case was sent to?

Can anyone explain this better to me? Kinda worried now, thanks

hi i am in same situation, applied for ROC on May 2016 and N-40O on July 2017 my I 751 case was transferred to Lee's  summit MO on May 8 2018 got letter saying ' in order to speed up ..." then on June 20th 2018 my N400  scheduled  for interview on July 28th so i was worrying  and talked to tier 2 officer he told me do NOT  worry just go for ur N400 interview . when i told him but my ROC still pending how they can approve my N400 . then he said  well if they need more info about your  I 751 case then they may call ur wife for interview with later. from my understanding it is good idea to go with my wife just incase  and to finish everything in same day . you dont need to go with lawyer. all you need to get most recently supporting doc, and get prepared for your both cases. good luck!

    Hello All,

I've been lurking in this forum for a long time now and its time I share a very positive update, especially for California filers. :D

Just got an email from USCIS and a Text saying my 'Card has been ordered for production'.

Beyond ecstatic! I was a California filer. I was never transferred to any other office. I never applied for the N400. (I wanted to finish this process first)

    Here are my dates:

Package and Application Sent (I-751) 1/9/17

Receipt Notice and 1 year Extension 1/14/17

    Biometrics: 1/20/17

    Approval: 6/20/17 !!!!

Will happily update when I get the card. For now just want to thank you all for this discussion. It keeps us all rooting for each other. Its a tough process.

i am very glad to hear that! i am so happy for you.  May God gives us good news and happiness very soon  so we can look forward on our lives. i have good news as well! i was checking my case and saw an update on my N400 has been scheduled for interview. The message that you received of February 23rd is probably 'received by local office', this nothing more thst they started working on your case again and took it from a dusty storage to somebody's desk.

I too had a RFE so maybe the evidence was not strong enough.

Filed October 2016, received by local office February 26th 2018, RFE March 29th 2018, RFE reveived April 9th 2018 and lastly transferred to another office that.has now jurisdiction May 1st 2018.

The letter that I received states to schedule an interview.

In the case tracker app I follow 300 cases around my case. At May 1st to 3rd 16 cases have been transferred to another office that now has jurisdiction. That number is pretty stationary for quite a while now.

I have a paper GC now, as my NOA expired in December, which is valid until December 2018. So I will just be patient.

Recently  (June 12th) there was news that NOA's would be extended from 12 to 18 months. Everyone with a case pending would receive a new MOA, haven't seen anything yet. I-751's is a low priority process. My NOA has passed the 18 months already for about a week now.

Update to Form I-797 Receipt Notices for Form I-751 and Form I-829

As of June 11, 2018, petitioners who file Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, or Form I-829, Petition by Entrepreneur to Remove Conditions on Permanent Resident Status, will receive a Form I-797 receipt notice that can be presented with their Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card, as evidence of continued status for 18 months past the expiration date on their Permanent Resident Card.

We are making the change from 12 to 18 months because current processing times for Form I-751 and Form I-829 have increased over the past year.

Additionally, we will issue new Form I-797 receipt notices to eligible conditional permanent residents whose Form I-751 or I-829 was still pending as of June 11, 2018. Those Form I-797 receipt notices will also serve as evidence of continued status for 18 months past the expiration date on petitioner’s Permanent Resident Card.

As a reminder, conditional permanent residents who plan to be outside of the United States for a year or more should apply for a reentry permit by filing Form I-131, Application for Travel Document, before leaving the country. Read more information on our Green Card webpage.

    John

    Hi John,

Thank you for your time and your useful info. i believe you are totally right about February 2018 transfer. i know RFE took my case back almost a year. As a being married almost five years and having bona fide marriage made me  to feel confirmable so i didn't submit bunch of documentation. basically last six months utility bills, mortgage payments from joint bank account, last two tax returns without any tax transcript and couple fotos. in short story, it was my big mistake to not submit enough evidence for last 3 years. i am guessing that i may have combo interview very soon since my N400 . i wasn't paying attention at beginning and being patient since  last transfer on may 2018 it become very stressfull  for me by checking my case everyday, i hope everyone here will have good news very soon.

Please file a case inquiry here (https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=onpt). Your case is way outside the normal processing time. Any officer who would be assigned the case would be ashamed enough to process the case faster (fingers crossed for you).

Thanks for info! i really appreciate it. i sent inquiry about my case on April 10th 2018 stating that why my case taking longer. the response  i got your case wasn't assigned to an officer. that is insane to me it has been more then 2 years  without any decision.
