  1. Actually I did read the guides, but I found that most of them stop at the point of having finished the interview.

The first part-getting him here- was pretty easy to figure out. I only got on this website recently, right before his interview!

I have been working with the info on the USCIS website, but I just thought that some people on this site might have first-hand knowledge which might make it easier for me.

Thanks for that forum- I'll check it out now.

  2. Hey everyone. My fiance just got back from his interview this morning in Rio de Janeiro, and turns out he was missing some required documents. We have had our interview rescheduled for January 31st, and I am trying to get the missing documents together. I have a few questions, and am hoping that someone will have the answers.

My first question is this: Is the "Sworn Statement" the DS-230 part II?

Also, does anyone know how long after the interview that my fiance will be able to travel? He has his interview at 8am on January 31, and the ticket that I bought is for 8pm Feb 3. Will he have his visa and his passport and be ready to go by then?

My final confusion is this: Are the "Affadavit of Support" and the "I-134" the same thing?

Thanks, everyone. This has been a difficult and horrible morning, but hopefully we will figure everything out and get it right the next time around.

  3. Hello everyone!

I was just reading over the document requirements for the interview, and I am having second thoughts about the birth certificate requirement. Will my fiance need a copy of my birth certificate too, or just his own? The requirement says "yourself, your spouse", but since we are not spouses yet does that mean only if your spouse is a beneficiary too?

It is too late to send anything down to him. What should I do?
