  1. Thank you so much everyone!! A special thank you to Typee for starting this thread!(L) My husband and I can't believe it's been a whole year already! I haven't been around VJ in a while. I guess I've been enjoying being a newlywed too much. LOL.

I hope everyone is well. Congratulations to others who have celebrated anniversaries and/or new babies recently. Take care and God bless everyone.

  2. Good morning,

Hello Sub-Saharan family! I hope everyone is well. My new husband  and I have been so busy planning our wedding, getting him acclimated to the US (and us to each other), and enjoying being newlyweds. We were married on March 8th -what a glorious day it was!! I'll try to post some pictures soon. I've tried to post some before, but I kept receiving an error message that the file size was too large. Hopefully I'll be able to figure it out.

We sent our AOS package on April 10th. By the grace of God our case was transferred to CSC! No interview! :dancing: We recently received e-mails from USCIS that the EAD & AP have been approved. What a relief. My husband had to stop working in April when his temp EAD expired. It was starting to get to him -not being able to work...or even drive. He's almost completely dependent on me. I strive to be supportive. But thank the Lord he'll be able to work again soon and can get his license with the EAD.

We're so happy to finally be together under one roof. It's an amazing feeling. Sometimes I still find it hard to believe that he's here. Sure we have our fair share of "growing pains", but that comes with the territory.

I would like to thank everyone for your prayers and support during our journey. I've said it before and I'll say it again: this website is truly a Godsend! To all the newer members whom I haven't had the chance to interact with yet, I wish you many blessings on your process. I would also like to express my empathy to those who are in AP right now. I've been there. Sometimes it can be pure hell. Please continue to pray and have faith! No matter the outcome, the Lord will bring you through.

    God bless,

    Shanon (L)

  3. Hello Sub-Saharan family,

I haven't been on in a while. I've been quite busy preparing for Kessington's arrival and planning the wedding. We're getting married March 8th! I just wanted to pop in to let you know that my man is on his way as I write this!:thumbs::yes:Finally. I'm so excited!!! His POE is JFK. He is scheduled to arrive in NC at 2:05 pm EST.

2007 was certainly not without its obstacles, but God brought us through. We wouldn't have made it without his blessings. I pray that 2008 will be a better year, for all of us.

Well, I'd better be going. I have so much to do before he gets here! I've cleaned just about everything except the chimney! LOL. I'll let you know that he made it safely. Take care and God bless.

  4. Paging Dr. Phil.....we've got a live one here. You're right DA, this woman does need help. It sounds like she is in an abusive relationship; whether it be physically, mentally, or both. How can a marriage be "made in heaven" when only one spouse is benefitting from the relationship?! Marriage is a partnership.
