Thanks for posting the pictures from the VJ party in Manila, it was nice that you all got together in Manila. I also spent sometime reading your journey with Luz, its amazing that you went to the Philippines 6 times, its obvious that you are very much in love and I am very happy for both of you. My fiancee will arrive on 3/13

  2. I have a question , perhaps you can help me, my fiancee will leave Manila on 3/13 at 8am NWA , can anyone tell me what time my fiancee should arrive at the airport. I need to know how many hours before departure time she should be there.

    thanks

    steve

Steve, Normal timetables would have her at the airport at 5 am, or 3 hours prior to flight take off. I have made that flight many times and the place is packed at 5 am. I would suggest she be there 3 hours before flight time. Also there are some fees to be paid inside the airport. You may or may not be aware that there is a fee of 1,650 pesos for a filipina to leave the Philippines. There is also a 550 peso air terminal fee and a newly implemented 200 peso security fee. The 1,650 may be included in the price of your ticket, but the other two definitely are not included in the price. Everyone has to pay the 750 peso fee, only filipinos pay the 1650peso fee.

Also if she has an e ticket she should go in and go all the way to the far right, not the left, as there is a very very long line there. If she does not have an e ticket, she will need to get in the very very long line.

    Good luck, Dean

Thanks very much for your quick response, it was very helpful . She has both the e ticket and the regular ticket which she picked up at the NWA office in Makati, but thanks to you I will let her use her e ticket and join the shorter line to the right so she can get inside much faster and thanks for the reminder regarding the airport fees.

  3. I JUST WANTED TO SHARE SOME INFORMATION REGARDING THE SEMINAR WITH ANYONE THAT PLANS TO ATTEND SOON. My fiancee just had her seminar on Friday 3/9 and they asked her for a copy of my passport, birth certificate and photos together, they also asked her my mothers maiden name and how many times I was married and how many kids I had.

I hope you will find this informations helpful before you attend. Also open the envelope and check your visa for any errors before you attend the seminar. There was a girl there and they told her she had to go back to the embassy because there was an error in the spelling of her fiance name on the visa, so she will have to cancell her flight and take care of this problem first.

    Best of Luck

  5. I recently purchased a e ticket from NWA, I would appreciate and response from anyone who has letft Manila recently using a eticket. Will they accept a printed copy of the ticket at the Manila airport or is it necessary to pick up copies of the ticket at the local NWA in Makati

    thanks

    steve

Hi Steve, I have flown NWA several times using e ticket to and from Manila. There is no problem at all. When you go into the area where you get the boarding pass and check your luggage do not get in the reallllly long lines to your left, but rather go all the way to the right where the business class and first class passengers check in. There will be a line there but it moves fairly rapidly and someone will approach you to look at your ticket and probably put a sticker on your shirt with NWA on it. You continue thru the line and before you get to the luggage check there will be a self check in machine, this is usally manned by NWA personnel.

Good luck on your flight. Fortunately going back to US is not as long as getting to PI.

Thanks for your reply, its nice to know that the printed E ticket will be acceptable

  7. I would NOT wait until the 12th if shes leaving on the 13th...Thats zero margin for error in the Philippines....I don't like the odds.

Alan and everyone else, thanks for your comments, I will have her take the seminar Friday the 9th, can someone post the link to the CFO seminar site and just to confirm, I understand that there is a 650 pesos fee. If anyone is interested in a cheap hotel in the Manila area, check out the

  8. Hello there,

Just looking through my medical questionnaire, and I have some rhetorical questions...

If you puffed on a joint in college once or twice, should you say "yes" to drugs and tobacco and explain thats all it was a long time ago at a party?

If you got too drunk at a party once and ended up taken to hospital as a precaution, should you say "yes, I went to hospital and yes I have abused alcohol"

I know you have to be 100% honest, but man, I feel pretty bad having this questionnaire and thinking its going to look a lot worse for things that happened 5 years ago when I was a bit more foolish and made the same "rookie" mistakes a lot of us make in life.

    Confused, :help:

    Teddy

    Teddy

Just answer NO to those questions relating to past drug or alcohol use, you dont want to implant any ideas into the interviewer mind or the person examing you that will give them a reason to decline your application

  9. The important thing to remember is that this document is not mentioned anywhere in any of the correspondence from the embassy as a required document,

    Hi Steve,

The Cenomar is mentioned in the Appointment Packet (packet 4) under Article 2, Item K (Required Documents)

    http://usembassy.state.gov/manila/wwwfivk1.pdf

    PW

    Hello PW

Yes you are right the do mention the CENOMAR as a required document, my fiancee failed to notice it but luckily someone she met at St Lukes informed her about it. I am really sorry to hear that your visa was denied and that you have to start the process all over again, its such a long and painful process.

    steve

  10. I just wanted to inform everyone, especially those that are preparing their documents for the embassy interview in Manila. My fiancee just left the embassy a few hours ago , Friday Philippine time , one of the documents they asked her for was the CENOMAR certificate, which is a certificate from the National Office of Statistics declaring that she is single and eligible to marry. The important thing to remember is that this document is not mentioned anywhere in any of the correspondence from the embassy as a required document, so if you were not informed by someone prior to your interview, you would have no idea that this is also a requirement and the lack of this document could conceivable delay the interview process, she was asked about 10 questions in her interview with the main focus on questions relating to me. Her K1 was approved and the visa will be delivered by Delbros as soon as its released by the embassy. Best of luck to everyone and remember to bring all your required documents and answer all your questions truthfully, then you can be assured that your application will be approved.

  11. does anyone here has experienced visa delivery over two weeks, thanks! im freaking out mine is already two weeks and haven't heard anything from the embassy yet! salamat!

Yes, unfortunately I do have experience with visa delivery over two weeks. I believe it took 23 days for our visa to be released from the embassy to delbros. Even though Jenalyn saw "k1 approved" stamped on the documentation and she paid delbros before she left the embassy. A follow-up call a week later to the embassy revealed there was a delay in "releasing" the visa for unspecified reasons. Her interview was Dec. 5, and her visa was released on Dec. 22nd. Or has your visa been "released" and its "in-transit" with delbros for over 2-weeks?

A very important point to those who are booking their flights within 2 weeks of interview!

    Steven and Jenky

Best of luck to you with your interview on the 16th, my fiancee medical and appointment is also on the same date in Manila

    Steve

  12. Hi Steve, Latest is good but you can also bring with you your last 2 years ITR just to be sure if ever they ask it from your Fiancee during the interview. Some interviewer asked it but some are not. Better be prepared than sorry..

    Have a nice day!

First I want to say that your fiancee is very beautiful and you both look very happy, my fiancee is from Zamboanga and her interview is on 2/16/07. Thanks for your response I will send my last 3 years, do you know if they also require a recent pay stub, and best of luck on the 23rd

  13. I filled that form out however I have no idea what those questions are and I am far too lazy to download the form since I don't need to have it for anything. Maybe you could say what the questions are or hopefully someone has a better memory than myself/has a copy in front of them.

    Good luck.

#10 That I have submitted a visa petition to US Citizenship on behalf of the following persons, if non state none

#11 That I intend or do not intend to make specific contribution to the support of the person named in item 3(your fiancee)

I think #10 is asking if you have filed for anyone other than the person you are sponsoring.

#11- I said no because I am not specifically paying for my husbands rent or school... we're just married and sharing everything!

I hope that makes sense, good luck!u

    Sarah

Thanks, #11 is a bit of a strange question because the purpose of the I-134 is a declaration of your sopport for your fiancee that you are sponsoring, #10 they want to know if you have filed a visa petition to US Citizenship so how could it be your fiancee

  15. I would appreciate if anyone could explain what the correct response should be for item #10 on the I-134 form, who are they referring to?

Also whats the best response for item #11

    thanks

    steve

    hello Steve

Check out the example forms section. #10 would be your fiance. #11 is N/A

Tony Thanks for your reply, question #11 is a very strange question and question #10 was a bit confusing
