No he didn't FORCE me.  Some money was given as you say I felt it was "right to do".  Other money was loaned.  Like, lend me $1,000 and I'll pay you when I sell my car.  Car sold, no money.  He had NO SAVINGS.  Got here with nothing.  In 2 years since I met him, I have $50k in credit card debt.  He's working 2 jobs.  Opened a separate bank account behind my back.  Gives me what he feels is appropriate and saves it or sends money back to his father in one country and children in another.  I'm not looking to "retain" his check but as husband & wife if I'm $50k in debt because of him, should that not be his first priority?  Should he not want to help his wife the way I helped him?  Yes, I'm contemplating withdrawing my I-864 petition which will automatically cancel his 485.  Marriage should be about "We" and "Us" and I don't believe lying and hiding your money shows me any respect.  Not a great foundation for my future.

I think you are right. if you're in debt because of him, then it should be his priority to clear those before trying to save for the future. you should be very careful, as it looks like he is using you for money. Before making any decision discuss those things with him..

Ours was approved by USCIS on August 2nd, but still haven’t gotten a notification from USCIS saying the files are being transferred. We sent an email to NVC asking if they’ve received it, they said no. Beginning to worry now...

hey, don't worry.. mine case was approved on may 22, 2018 and they transferred it to NVC on June 06, 2018 and we received letter from NVC on august 03, 2018.. so that's normal processing time.

Thanks for answering. When we applied, our lawyer applied under my last name for her even though I gave him the old passport. She changed her last name And her personal certificate shows her with my last name. My lawyer is telling me she can come her and do some changes on the green card but didnt understand him very well on the phone.

edit: nevermind, i see now on the main application, her old last name was used the on matching the passport and on the other names used there they put my last name and her name. I guess i dont have to get a new passport

yes then you don't have to.. all the best

    Hello eveyone.

We are on the last process of the visa, just waiting on an interview date.

I have  a question for you guys.

Do we have to get a new passport for my wife because she has her passport valid with her old last name and when I submitted the papers online I submitted her old passport under her last name. Would this be a problem in the visa process? Should we get a new passport for her under my last name or is it fine?

Thanks and good luck to everyone

She has changed her name in other supporting documents?? I think if her name is consistent with passport, forms and supporting documents, then there is no need to get a new passport..

There is no mandatory requirement to change surname after wedding.. you do know that.. right!!
