  1. Hello everyone my wife has finally recieved her Interview date. We are gathering required documents for her Interview and it states she she shall bring all required original or certified Copy of her civil documents. I lost my original birth certificate and only have my Certified copy, my question is will they accept my Certified copy of my birth certificate if asked for it in her Interview?

I believe after paying fees and submitting all documents to NVC it can take 3-4 months to receive confirmation that you submitted all your correct documents and 1-2 months after that your interview will be scheduled. The whole process starting from the date you submitted the petition can take 1yr to 1yr and 6 months (if everything is submitted in a timely manner). Please keep me updated I am currently in the same processes as you

Yup sounds about right, and yeah i Will Jeep you update forsure.

It is. Check the Mexico regional forum, as well as timelines of those immigrating from Mexico, others have been waiting for interviews for 12 months on average. CDJ has one of the highest interview backlogs in the world due to the number of applicants on top of that CDJ is the only US consulate in Mexico with an immigration unit

Soooo explain to me this timeline?

  4. I'm the petitioner and the case has gotten approved "Thank you for your interest in immigrating to the United States of America. The Department of State's National Visa Center (NVC) received your approved immigrant visa petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC's role is to ensure you are prepared for your immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General, and to schedule your interview appointment."

Now i'm submitting in the supportive documents and affidavit of support and all that good stuff, and now its asking for my wife's (currently in mexico) passport information in which she is in the process of getting. My only concern is all the documents I've submitted prior to the case being approved have been in my wife's maiden name and not her married name.

So my question is, should my wife get her passport with her maiden name since I've used that name on all her forms or will it be ok if she gets her passport with her married name even though I've been using her maiden name for all her forms I've submitted to the USCIS?

  5. is there any way i can also receive the information that the NVC will send to my beneficiary as stated in the notice? Because i'm afraid that information wont get to my beneficiary because she lives in a rural area where its really hidden from the city and doesn't deliver any type of mail even though where she lives that have active domiciles.

I feel like I’ve seen a very similar situation to this recently somewhere on the forum.

How are all your other ids setup ?

there is space provided for you to explain the situation.

My father was not present during birth so I got my mothers last name. My dad got an affidavit to change shortly after. I now go by my married name which I used but on all forms I also indicated my original name at birth and which is listed on my birth certificate exactly as it appears and my fathers name which I count as my maiden name. I explained the situation in the space provided and gave copy of affidavit.

My other id's are set up normaly with my last name being my last name in which in my birth certificate states my last name as my middle name.

  7. Hi everyone here is my issue, i married my wife in mexico this year and obviously had my US Birth certificate apostiled and was used for marriage out there. The civil registration told me that my birth certificate would need to be kept with them (mexico) and i would no longer have it to my posession. Now, i got a copy of my vital birth record only thing is i just realized that my parents registered my last name as a middle name and my last name as my moms last name (Prior to her marriage with my dad). I want to know if i put my last name on forms I-130 and I-130a will it effect anything in the process since my birth record which i will be submitting for proof of us citizenship has my last name under as my middle name? Please any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks alot.

If your spouse speaks and reads English clearly, there is no need to fill out either of those sections, because you worked together to fill it out.  If you needed to "interpret" then you are BOTH the interpreter and preparer.

That's what i thought just needed someone to clear that up for me, Thank's alot pushbrk you sure are a valueable asset to these forums. I greatly appreciate your helpful responce and look forward to hear from you in the near future.

  9. I'll be filling for a CR-1 visa for my spouse and i would like to know for future references if the vaccinations listed in the following site https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/vaccinations.html correspond to the CR-1 visa? I also wanted to know if she can get all those vaccinations done in her home country in which she currently resides in? Thanks alot, i would greatly appreciate the help.
