  1. I'm filling out the I-90 form online for my green card renewal, and the following questions popped up and are somewhat confusing, so I just want to make sure that I got the correct answer:

    Under Section Processing Information:

    1. Where did you apply for your immigrant visa or adjustment of status?

List the location of the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Consulate, or USCIS office where you filed your application for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status.

Is the answer to this question the city and state where I live? I applied adjustment of status (I-485) when I got to US on a K3 visa, and I've been living in Atlanta, GA for all my time in the US. So the answer should just be Atlanta, GA?

    2. Where was your immigrant visa issued or which USCIS office granted you adjustment of status?

List the location of the U.S. Embassy, U.S. Consulate, or USCIS office where you were issued an immigrant visa or granted lawful permanent resident status.

I did the interview in Atlanta, GA as well, but my I-797 came from National Benefit Center, Lee's Summit, Missouri and with the MSC case number. So is the answer to this question the same with the question above as Atlanta, GA or should it be National Benefit Center, Missouri?

Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks!

  2. I just did a search on the forum and try to find if we have a Green Card Interview questions list, but I don't see there is one.

My wife will go to the green card interview based on K3 visa in 2 weeks. I just want to check if someone has gone through that, and could you guys post some questions that they asked during the interview process or let me know where can I find a GC interview questions list. That way we can get an idea how to prepare it.

    BIG Thanks in advance!

  3. Hello,

I am preparing the Green Card interview documents for my wife, and it said it needed the spouse's birth certification. I just want to know if there is an expiration on the Birth Certificate Notarization from China. I saw mine was done in 1997 in China. So just want to double check if it's still good. I haven't heard there is an expiration on this kinda nortarization, since it will show the same thing and no information will change if we redo it, but just want to make sure......

Anybody knows if there is an expiration on Birth Notarization? Please let me know....

    Thanks

    Nobody here knows? :help:

  5. So you mean we can use it anyway and just send it back later for them to correct it. I was thinking about the same thing, since the card# won't change.

I just got my wife's work authorization card after 3 months waiting, but they printed her birthdate wrong on the card. I called USCIS this morning, and according to what they told me, I have to send in another application I-765 and the original copy to prove they did it wrong. Otherwise, they will charge the application fee again. It will take another 15 - 30 days. I just got frustrated, I mean what a PITA that is, and how stupid those IDIOTIC USCIS workers are!

Anyway, want to ask if anyone else here have the same experiences on error correcting process on their work card or green card or other documentations. Please let me know what is the best way to handle this.

Also, what if we just use the card instead of sending it back. How big of a deal it is if the birthdate on the card is wrong. Just try to avoid another hassle with USCIS.

    THANKS!

The fact that there is a clerical error on the card does invalidate it. Use it and get it corrected.

Yes it is stupid that they messed it up. But it is a fix that they make for free.

I meant does NOT invalidate it. oops

  7. Thanks Azhar! I think we are in very similar situation here. I will check Part 2 (a) as my answer. I think this makes sense since I-130 immigration petition is already approved for my wife. I will fill out my A# as well I guess, and cross my fingers. Hopefully they don't mess it up. Do you plan to send copy of your citizen naturalization certificate to them with I-485. It's not required anywhere in the form....but I was just wondering if they need that for proof.

    Hello all,

I have a few questions on filling out form I-485, so I want to double check here, and hopefully someone can confirm that what I was thinking was correct.

    [1]. Part 2. (Application Type)

For this one, my wife is K3 visa holder and she already got the approved I-130 from USCIS, so do I just check (a)? and attach the I-130 approval? I don't see there is an option for K3 visa holders, please let me know whether I am correct.

    [2]. A#

When my wife was applying I-129F, it gives her an A#, but I-130 didn't mention it, so on the I-485 form where they ask for A#, do I just use that A# we got from I-129F?

    [3]. Part 3. B (A# of spouse)

I got my citizenship through naturalization, so before when I have my green card, I have an A# too, but now I am a citizen, and don't have my greencard anymore. Does that mean I can just put 'N/A' on Part 3. B asking for spouse's A#?

Any help/answers would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

    goukoy,

I'm in the exact same situation. My wife's I-130 was approved shortly after her I-129F was approved but we went ahead with K-3 visa option thinking we'll apply for Adjustment of Status upon arriving in US. Right now I'm preparing paperwork to apply for her AOS and had the same questions. After giving it some thought I've decided to enter information as:

[1]. Part 2. (Application Type) - (a) an immigrant petition giving me an immediately available immigrant visa number has beenapproved. - This makes sense since her I-130 has been approved and an immigrant visa is ready for her.

[2]. A# - I missed this one. I didn't realize that she has an alien # now after I-129F approval. I left it blank but now I'm going to use her A# as it appears on approval notice.

[3]. Part 3. B (A# of spouse) - I remember there was a field for petitioner's A# either on I-129F form or I-130 or G-325A (can't recall exactly which one). Even though I'm a US citizen now, I used my A# that was assigned to me when I was green card holder for that field. I didn't effect anything. I intend to do the same for I-485 filling. I personally don't think it is complicated in anyway to confuse the immigration officer so it's really up to you.

    Good luck!

  8. Almost done with the whole AOS forms, just last couple questions on form I-864 want to check.

    1. Q25. Tax Returns

If I am going send the AOS forms in Jan, 2007, I only need to include 2005 tax return right? also notice 3 most recent tax returns are optional, so just want to make sure is the most recent tax return (in this case 2005 one) sufficient enough for them? or anyone think I should supply all 3 years tax returns?

    2. Notarization

Do I need to get the I-864 notarized? I think I don't need to, but want to make sure I am correct.

    3. Bank Statement

I think someone told me to include this, but I don't think I need to if I don't do Part 7 (Use of assets to supplement income) of the I-864, right?

    Thanks ahead!

  9. Thank you guys for the quick responses. So YuAndDan, you think even I have the I-130 approved, it does not qualify for (a) of Part 2? (An immigrant petition giving me an immediately available immigrant visa number has been approved....)

    I am just curious.

And Todrak, you think giving my A# to the USCIS won't mess them up and confuse them? I hope they know I am citizen now instead of PR.

I found those people at USCIS are not that intelligent (from previous phone conversations), so just want to make sure it's crystal clear to them.

    Thank you again guys.

    goukoy

    goukoy,

Give your A#. The USCIS has a file on you, your A# is the reference to it. (They'll be able to find your file anyway if they want it, but why make things hard for them?)

  11. Hi,

I have a question on medical exam form I-693 and I-693A. I read the following from somewhere on the forum and got confused:

"13. I-693, Medical Examination of Aliens Seeking Adjustment of Status. (If you already have this from your overseas Visa Interview submit a copy that medical check form; No fee is required in this case. If you are a K-1 fiancé(e) or K-2 dependent who had a medical examination within the past year as required for the nonimmigrant fiancé(e) visa, you only need to submit a vaccination supplement (I-693A), not the entire medical report. You may include the vaccination supplement with your adjustment of status application.)"

My wife has the K3 spouse visa, and I am doing her AOS forms now. My question is does I-693A only apply to K1 & K2 visas. What about K3 visa. My wife had her medical exam done back in China, but the immigration inspector took the sealed medical folder when she enters US. So did the medical go to USCIS or somewhere? and does she need to take a new medical exam and fill out I-693 here or she can do I-693A?

    Thanks

  12. Hi,

Just browsed around the forum for a while and haven't found a topic that solves my confusion. I am filling the AOS paperworks, and have questions on the G-325A bio info form.

The form has 4 exact same pages, but on bottom of each one it has (1) Ident, (2) Rec. Br, (3)C, (4)Consulate as different footnote. My question is do I fill out all 4 pages and mail all of them out or do I just need to fill out one page. And are there anything need to be filled out different on each page depending on the footnote?

    Please let me know...

    Thanks
