Yes, K1 is entitled to have a SSN even after the wedding as long as the I-94 is still valid (just take note that the SSN is not valid for work until you present an EAD). If the K1 applicant is a female, you cannot use your married name. Once the I-94 expired, you have to wait for your EAD before  you can apply SSN.

My wife is here on a K1 visa with a pending AOS, EAD, and AP. We acquired her SSC immediately after the wedding using our marriage certificate and her passport. Her SSC has her married name on it..

  2.      Good morning everyone. My wife Rugile and I completed our K-1 Visa and moved to Tucson back in November. I was able to expedite that process down to 2 months and 5 days due to military factors. We've now submitted our AOS, EAD, and AP documents. My wife is Lithuanian and I'm an American Military member. I'm following this thread in hopes of gaining better situational awareness for our own timeline and also providing some for others. Our timeline is as follows..

Entered the US on K-1 Visa: 30 November 2017

    Married: 20 Jan 2018

    In-processed as Military Spouse: 29 January 2018

Applied for SSN: 30 January 2018

    Received SSC: 05 February 2018

Mailed Package to Chicago Lockbox: 08 March 2018

    Package received: 10 March 2018

    NOA1: 12 March 2018

    Payment Accepted: 27 March 2018

    Biometrics Appt: 16 April 2018

Fingerprint Review Completed: 23 April 2018

"Ready to Schedule Interview" Notice: 23 April 2018

Current Number of Days in AOS Process: 46 Days

We planned our Honeymoon based on earlier AP timelines with a leaving date of 21 July 2018. We are hoping to have the Travel Document in hand prior to the 120 day mark as our vacation/flights are already paid for. However, the EAD and AOS are not as big of concern for us at the moment. From my own research, the current average is around 135 days from receipt to AP card delivery. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, I'm happy to share updates to help each other along the process.

    Thanks,

    Brock
