  1. We are wondering if anyone has any recent experience with getting a tourist visa from Ukraine. My wife (K1) and I have been married for almost 3 years and would like to have her parents come visit in the USA. We're willing/able to host and even pay airfare but of course they don't have a visa.

Their situation is financially stable, both with jobs, house, family, and assets. My wife's sister recently graduated and does have a job but that's about it and we'd want her to be able to come as well.

I realize COVID has messed up the flow on a lot of things and we're not needing anything immediately, but want to think ahead to 2022+.

  2. My wife who is about half way through her 2-year green card has had a job with a school district as a para since last fall.  With the looming Coronavirus stuff, we are anticipating that she'll likely get laid off for at least a couple of weeks and potentially more.  During that period it sounds like she might be eligible for unemployment but we're wondering if that could impact that removal of restrictions coming up next year.

  3. My wife is from Ukraine, and we want to return back for a visit.  Her passport is in her maiden name, and the Green Card is in the married name.

From other forums, we’ve ready to buy the plane tickets in the maiden name, since that’s what matches the UA passport, and we’ll have the marriage certificate with us.

Our question is will she have problems when we’re flying back home since she doesn’t have a VISA in her passport.  All we’ll have is the Green Card which is in her married name.  Are there any other documents we need?

  4. Just a follow-up, FedEx took just over a week to ship to Ukraine and I had excellent tracking the entire time.  But I did have to pay $111 to get them there.  My total package weight was around 5 ounces or 140 grams.

Also, I wound up shipping to an alternate location in a bigger city, as they didn't seem to allow me to ship to small villages.  Maybe I just didn't push hard enough.

So.  Does USCIS only update their system  first thing in the morning, or has anyone seen random approvals during other times of the day?

Obviously I have as limited experience as anyone else on here, but it seems like lately the approval email/texts are coming in during the morning hours.  I got mine this morning at 5:19am (CDT).  My fiance found it posted just before that on the website about 4:00am (CDT).  For reference, I had checked the website last night before I went to bed at 9:04pm (CDT) and it was NOT updated yet.
