  1. Can anybody give me a general idea as to how long we will need to wait to get my wife's social security number from the time we go into the SSA office and apply? :clock:

We went to the SSA office on monday, and they told us it would take 10 days for the card to be delivered, but she said we can go for the SS number the next morning. We went to the SSA office the next morning 11am and they gave us a printed sheet with her SS number. Hope this helps.

    Juan.

  2. going to peru this Sat and coming back this Sunday, going to see my wifey, i miss her sooo much :'(

Anyway, i already bought her ticket for march and i also bought myself one since i will be at the interview. I cant wait!~!~

Juan, if you need help getting some cheap tix, let me know, my sister works for Costamar...

Thanks for the offer. I will keep that in mind. I used my miles to buy both tickets for my trip on the 16, but I will keep the offer in mind. Thanks and good luck. I will let you know how our interview worked out.

  3. Juan, has you wife rec'd her packet in Lima yet?

I got mine last night , only thing is the NVC still says they dont have a interview date scheduled, but i guess the letter is enough right>?

The packet that I received had an interview date on the first page, and a little more then a week after I received the packet, my wife got hers and it was the same thing. I would start calling the embassy to find out about the interview date, because they might not let your wife in the embassy without an interview date on the letter. Let me know if you have any questions.

Is the packet your wife received the exact same thing as i one you got?

I scanned my packets and emailed it to her.

yep. both are the same. I did the same as you did, and scanned it and emailed to her, so she can get her medical exam.

  5. Magay, It looks like the NVC will schedule the interview.

But i want to know is my case was just completed yesterday at the NVC now how long before i get the interview date???

    Hey Martin,

From what I read, I looks like the interview gets scheduled 1 month after the embassy receives the packet from NVC. I keep calling everyday to find out when it has been transfered, then I will call the embassy to make sure. What kind of visa did you receive? ours was a cr1. Thanks.

  6. Hey, Christopher

I married a peruvian national as well. Our I-130 is currently in the NVC. I would recommend that you send in the required documents with the I-130. We submitted our marriage certificate, birthcertificates and so on. I would recommend that both certificates be legalized by RENIEC. I hope this helps.

  7. Same as any other visa type..

Police records (Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales) are available to applicants over the age of 16, and are issued on green paper with the heading “Policia Nacional del Peru, Division de Identificacion, Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales”. The applicant's photo is attached to the certificate. Applicants without criminal records will have "No Registra Antecedentes" printed on the form. A negative certificate does not necessarily mean the subject has no police record, since police records may be deleted upon completion of sentence. A police record may be issued to residents or non-residents upon application to Policia de Investigaciones del Peru. Division de Identificacion, Av. Aramburu No. 550, Lima 34, Lima. The applicant must first request a fingerprint chart (ficha de canje internacional) and provide one photo. Processing time is normally three days. There is a small fee.

You need 3, penal, judicial y nacacional y certificada en el ministerio del exterior.

Thanks for both replies I really appreciated. I have one more question. My wife lived in Tarapoto for 3 years, and in Lima for the last 7 years. Do we need a police certificate from Tarapoto? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Again.
