    Got my passport today. That's just 5 business days door to door. That's pretty good service.

    Congrats! you have to be the first person here who was successful using a true certified copy to apply for your passport.

    UPDATE:

    My passport, passport card and my Naturalization Certificate are here! They all came in the same envelope Today which I wasn't expecting but I guess my whole process was different since I did my application at the actual government office during their biannual 'passport day'

    If you have one in your city, I recommend going and doing it that way. I applied on Saturday the 28thth with no extra expedite fees or shipping feels and I have my stuff in my hands Today.

    According to the post office  my passport was delivered Today at my local post office and ready for me to go pick up. I guess they dont deliver at apartment mailboxes or offices when it comes to passports? Anyway, I applied last Saturday so it only took 5 business days (no expediting fee or expediting mail)

    The office where I have to go pick it up is closed on weekends so I will have it in my hands Monday :)

    UPDATE: Wow! this is happening quick! maybe because I did my application at the actual dallas state department office?

    I just got email notification that says 'We have finished processing your passport, and it has been printed.' and when I check their website it says:

    Your passport application is in the final processing stages.

    Your passport application locator number is *********.

    When you applied, you requested Routine Service.

    This means you should receive your passport on or about 05/08/2018.

    If you have any additional questions, please contact the National Passport Information Center with the above locator number.

     

    Thats 10 calendar days/ 7 business days with routine service and regular mail (if i get it around 8th of course)

    Updating information at SS was the most painless. Just walked into an SS office and took about 15 mins. They just wanted see the Nat. Certificate and updated their system and told me I would receive my new card in 2 weeks. I received it in less than a week. 

     

    Now a little pause till I get my passport. 

    Oh that’s nice! All the SS offices AND dmv offices here in Dallas are forever packed so I know that won’t be as quick and easy for me lol

    1) Certified True copy: Done; Had to drive to Norfolk after an infopass appointment. 

    2) Updating Social Security Paperwork: Done: Walked into an office (very close to where I live) after 6 days of Oath ceremony. Everything went well except for a brief power outage!!!

    3) DMV: Waiting a couple of days for the SS paperwork is updated in the system

    4) Passport: Ready for filing. The earliest appointment I could get at any post office within 20 miles is on April 30th. Filing with Certified True Copy. If that doesn't work will bite the bullet and send the original.

    5) Voter Registration: Waiting on DMV paperwork to go through 1st.

    6) Other: India doesn't allow dual citizenship. I have denounce Indian citizenship and apply for the OCI card but I can do that only after receiving the US passport as the application process needs that. Then I have to apply for wife's OCI card. 

     

    It's going to be while!!!! :D However, the difference is, I can do all that at my leisure. 

    Is there a voter card you get right after you update your DMV information? I am doing my 'post naturalization' stuff one at a time too. I am waiting for the passport to be mailed to me then I will take a morning off work to got to the Social Security Office (I am assuming i have to fill out a replacement form for that?)  After I get my SS card in the mail then I will take another morning off for DMV! One at a time! lol

    I hope they still won't send you a letter to send the original like they did this lady I know who sent them all the information the website states and got her authorized copy signed and everything. *crossing fingers* that yours will still go through without the extra hustle.

    Thank you for your kind words! I did catch a lift ride there and my oath experience was great! We were all a little surprised the guy was very blasé about the whole thing lol he even told us to sign the certificate whenever we get home and just to make sure its our right signature but overall  it was a good experience!! I am home now and about to take a NAP!! I guess I will sign it when I get up lol.

    You are almost there. Don't overthink it. The ceremony  really has a great celebratory mood unlike other USCIS interactions such as interviews. 

    Thank you! I am an anxious and very overthinking person but I plan on relaxing tonight and getting up refreshed and ready to have a blessed ceremony day.
