  1. Changes of address are notoriously poorly managed by the USCIS. You may never get your interview letter, not go to the interview, and thusly be denied -- just as a small example.

If at all possible, I would strongly encourage you to complete your move and then file the AOS with the new address.

Thanks, I kind of figured that but was hoping there was some other way. Thanks again.

if you've not filed for AOS yet, then

USCIS won't pay attention to your 'current address' at all.

You've not filed anything, so why would USCIS send you anything?

If timing is an issue (for the move ) then suggest you get a PO Box on the new base, at the base post office, probably inside the AAFES facility, now, prior to the move, and then use THAT address for all of the paperwork.

I realize that, I just wanted to get the paperwork in the mail before leaving but I think I will hold off until I get there. To many variables.

  2. I was wondering if there is anything that I have to do special as my wife and I will be moving while her AOS is being processed. I am in the military and got orders to move. I have the money now to send in the papers but I am afraid that the paperwork may not catch up with me or the process will be delayed because we will not be by the original USCS office. Any suggestions? I would rather not wait until I get there as I am worried about spending the money we have set aside on moving costs.

  3. I'll have to check that out. I am really trying to take the easy way out and find the candies already wrapped and ready to go. There has to be someone that makes these and sells them. Thanks for the help...

  4. Can anyone tell me where I can find those macapuno candies they sell on the buses in the Philippines? I am in the states and want to order some for my wife. She has had some pretty crazy cravings since becoming pregnant. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks...

  5. Now that she is through the interview stage and waiting on the visa is there anything else we need to plan for before she gets on the plane to finally come and be with me? I thought I had read somewhere that there was a class that she needed to go to. I am asking because I want to buy a plane ticket but I want to make sure she is going to make the flight. Any help would be great. Thanks!!!
  6. They use the same check list form for the Nonimmigrant K-Visas as they do for the Immigrant visas like CR-1 or IR-1. The $380 is the fee for the immigrant visas, it covers the biometrics, and green-card generation.

You will be paying that fee later after you marry and file for AOS (I-485)

Nonimmigrant K-visas pay $100 to the consulate for the visa.

“K” nonimmigrant visa applicants must pay a non-refundable application fee of US$100 dollars or

its equivalent in Philippine peso at the prevailing exchange rate. The fee can be paid at any of the

designated banks listed below. Payment is valid for one year.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, NOW I CAN SLEEP!

  7. What is the fee that you have to pay at the embassy for the Delbros to deliver the Visa? My girl has her interview on the 4th of june and I want to make sure we're ready. Thanks!

It varies depending on where the visa will be delivered. I think we paid around 165PHP for the Manila area. I don't think it will be much more than 200-300PHP for any area. I'm sure if you have 500PHP for the delivery, you will be adequately prepared and even have a some left over.

Thanks so much, what is this I hear about paying 380.00 dollars for the visa! I thought it was only 100?!?

  8. I was talking to my fiancee about the interview and she brought to my attention something that was in her packet. It says that 380.00 dollars is due for her visa. It goes on to say that I have most likely already paid this and that the actual amount will be 45.00. I have heard nothing about this before and thought that the only money due was the 100.00 interview fee. Can somebody please clarify this for me because her interview is on the fourth and I want to make sure she's ready. Thanks a bunch!

  9. The Japanese counsulet told us that it would take two months from the one in Manila. The thing is here interview is on the 11th of April. My attorney told me that there is a faster way by getting in contact with the one in Main land Japan but the people at the american embassy in Manila were not helpful at all. Surprise Surprise. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I really need this help!

  10. Could anyone tell me what to do next. My Fiancee got a packet in the mail and we already have her interview date. The thing is everywhere I read on the internet says that you have to send in a DS-230 form before you get a interview date. I received a letter from the embassy saying that they sent the packet four but aren't I missing a step here. Someone please help clear my cluttered mind. Thanks.
