Another member of VJ recommends going back to the embassy and have them re-issue a visa with the correct IR designation, in your situation. All the advice above is correct, though. You will either get a 10 yr green card or will be able to inform them of their mistake when filing an I-90, should they issue you a 2 yr green card. Congratulations on receiving the visa!

Giving how slow the embassy is, i might have to go with the methods above.

    Thank you very much!!!

If you ENTER the US after your 2 year wedding anniversary, you will receive a 10 year green card......Even if the visa says "CR-1", you will receive a 10 year card.  You can certainly mention that you are beyond your 2 year anniversary.

You will NOT have to remove conditions.

    Thank you very much.

And if they still issue a wrong card, you can file an I-90 due to the mistake to get it fixed. No fee required when this is due to a mistake.

    Yes,i'll keep that in mind.

    Thank you very much.

  3. I did my interview on 10/24

The interview was two weeks before two years anniversary.

And then i got AP for missing documents

Then finally received the visa but it shows CR1,and it was issued on 11/16,which is a few days after the two years anniversary.

Now i'm really confused about what to do.

So the question is,If i enter the US a week later, can i just tell them at POE that my two years anniversary has pasted already? Will this just solve the problem?

Or do i have to apply for remove condition?

Really confused about this, thought this unbelievably long process has ended finally. Didn't see this coming.

If you have any advice,i'm all ears.

    Thank you very much.

Even though AP is normal in visa processing, your case is in AP due to that police certificate. You need to get them that police report or else your case will remain in AP with no action on it. Did they give a form after the interview? 221g or anything? I don’t know if it’s the same for all embassy’s but there’s timelines for how long you have to submit a required document requested from the CO. If you lived in any other country for 6months or more they will always require a police report from that country no matter how hard it is to obtain its part or the process.

No any forms,no any email, she just said mail the stuffs to them with my passport and that's it.

Yes,it's a very complicated and frustrating process, thank you.

    Every case goes through AP.

No idea where 2 months comes from. AP has no timeline at all...most are days, some are weeks, rarely it's months, and  very rarely it's years.

A missing police certificate would be a reason for AP. Once received, they will review it. Could be days, could be weeks before they get to it.

If there is nothing else outstanding, they can then issue the visa. They will need your passport to do so.

Cause i saw people saying that they waited for two months for AP before.

Hopefully it will just be days,or like two weeks or so.😂

    Thank you.

  6. I've done interview for CR1 in naples,italy.

And the visa officer asked a lot of questions and said that i'm missing the police report from china,i need to get that to them,i said that is not easy to get,but she says we need it anyway, and then she said that i need to mail the notarial certificate of no criminal records to them, and asked do you have any travel plans? If it's hard to get the the police report, you can have your passport back, and when you got the notarial certificate of no criminal records, you just mail that with your passport to us so you don't have to come back here again.

And i checked the visa status now,it shows Administrative Processing.

Does it mean that if i send them the police reports and notarial certificate they'll just approve it right away?

Or that i just need to wait for two months anyway…

Please share your experiences with me,i'm really confused and really frustrated.Thank you…
