  1. I know it's a bit early to post on May Filing. Yazi and I were married April 23rd, so will be filing for AOS/EAD in May. best of luck to everyone else who will also be filing their AOS in May.

    Hi Roy & Yazi,

Is it normal to be approved for AOS w/ a 2 year Green Card the expires in 07/07/2009 already?

We have not rec'd interview notices or NOA of either AOS/EAD but I just checked the website and the EAD is still pending. Both were filed in May but yesterday we got the Green Card w/ a Welcome letter and a statement of approval to work, travel out of the Country and file for I90 form 90-days before this card expires. Is this an error or should we be jumping for Joy?????? :help::help::help: !!!!!!

If you were married for less than 2 years at the time your AOS was approved, you were issued what is called a conditional greencard. A conditional greencard is valid for 2 years; 90 days before it expires you will have to file for removal of conditions.

    Congratulations!

    Thanks Everyone,,,,

This is really scarry and unbelievable to have the card w/o the interview. Maybe the interview is coming later!!!

    Thanks Again.....

  6. I don't know what happened here? I am in shock and a little intoxicated. My wife went for a bike ride this morning at 9:30am and never came back. All she took was her money, jewels and passport. I received an email from her cousin in the Philippines 8 hours later that said my wife is safe and for me to move on with my life. I am in shock. I married her in the Phils 18 months ago, she was here 1 day short of two months and she is gone. Day after day she said she was depressed and homesick. The only disagreement we had was yesterday. It was about her $1028.00 cell phone bill where she had been calling the Philippines at $3.00 a minute instead of using our landline international service.

I don't know if I have been used or what. I am just in shock and have nobody to talk with.

    Glenn

Glenn, I'm so sorry to hear such bad news. I wish I was near you to give you a ear to talk to. Hang in there and things will get better. I'm praying for you to pull thru this strong and find your wife. I hope you can work this out and she comes back.

  7. Anyone else having trouble getting through to the Phils on telephone or text messages?

Have you recieved your visa yet?

I have not and I've texted and emailed, and called for my visa but no respond from text and email.

I did get thru by phone and was just told to call back Monday or Tuesday for more update and information.

Call 632 528 6300 ext. 5184 or just call Delbros and they will switch you to ext. 5184....

    I hope this helps.

My interview was March 21 and they have not released it to Delbros as of today 11 days and counting.....

  8. Thanks everyone for the comforting words of not to worry....I did call and inqurired and ext. 5184 explained that there are somethings (what???) need to be verfied. She said it should be released by next week and to call back early next week or she could call my fiance.

PW....I was just kidding when I said you made it worst!!! You are very good at helping everyone and I know your statement was pure facts. I just hope I'm not on AR.

I will keep my fingers and toes crossed and praying for early release and then we can start the wait all over with that AOS papers.

Maylet, I forgot to tell you that the delivery is to be in Tugugeraro, (10 bus ride from Manila).

So maybe 7 days for Delbros to delivery it and also his destination will be Chicago just like yours. Hope to meet you one day!!!

Thanks everyone again and keep the faith and prayers pouring in for me!!!! :crying::crying::crying::crying:

  9. Congrats to all who has rec'd their visa!!!

I"m really sad because I called the Embassy and they said maybe my visa will be release next week.

All the information and file is still on the Counsular's desk for review. After the review and verification of the applications, she will send it to print, and that may take 3 days to release to Delbros.

So now I have to change the flights from the 7th to Whenever????? :crying::crying::angry::(:( !!!!!

  10. Question! Is it normal for the Embassy to skip over visa processing? We had our interview on the 21st and I see everyone from the 22nd and 23rd are receiving their Visa or Visa in process for delivery. I called the Embassy and We are not process for delivery yet.

Is this normal and has anyone else exprienced this? :crying::no::o:angry:

If you are still in Manila I would suggest going to the embassy to find out whats going on. If not keep calling until they give you some type of status update.

    Thanks Dean,

I will call again today, but no, I'm back in Chicago and we have tickets for the 7th of April.

I just don't want to pay for the changes of the tickets.

Thanks again....PW helped me also, or should I say something to worry about. She said start worrying after 10 days, and call after 15 days has passed.:angry::angry:

  11. Jackie try filipino travel agency.. i got my ticket at 664 net.Bound for Jax.

the # is 5284504-08.Look for Maricel. They will give u a first time immigrant rate which is

    cheaper.

    goodluck.

hello everybody. thank you to all of you here. i got my visa today. i cant just leave my work i want to fly on may 25 onwards. can i ask from anyone of you here what travel agency did u book for a ticket?

Mostly everyone I see in this thread, has used NorthWest Airlines. If you search for cheap fares, it will be the 1st one to show a price under $1000.00, try it and see what you find out.

    nwa.com is the website.

I have been back and forth to the Philippines numerous times. I have always flown on Northwest Airlines. My wife came here on February 7. The fare from Manila to Jacksonville, Florida was about $700 including tax for one way. I reccomend also signing up for NWA's World Perks program. You earn sky miles of which are really a big savings when NWA runs Asia Sales. NWA runs 4 sales a year to Manila and the roundtrip fare is usually about $700 plus 5,000 to 10,000 World Perks miles. A one way ticket from Manila to Jacksonville, Florida earns about 9000 World perks Miles. I have flown roundtrips to Manila twice over the last 2 years using nothing but World perks Miles and my tickets were free. Another huge benefit is that NWA will give you free first class seating up-grades when First class has empty seats. No, I don't work for NWA, but I am very pleased with my flight experiences with them to Manila. If you are the east coast of the USA, they are hard to beat on quality and price. When you price your query on NWA.com, you will see that some tickets on some days are much less. It depends on availability. I hope this helps.

They also still allow 70 pounds per bag for checked luggage.

70 lbs, I did not know that, Thanks.!!! Cathay has 50 pounds and if you are over it is $25 fee...

  14. For Manila Embassy Interview:

I'm planning to fly to the Philippines to accompany my parents to the interview.

They have separate petitions/cases but their appointment day and time is exactly the same.

Q: Can the petitioner go inside the pre-screening room (with the parent applicant/s and the Filipina pre-screener)?

Will I be allowed? [ I didn't want to leave them alone-------with a possibly tricky or sneaky Filipina screener

Or do I have no choice but to wait for the COnsular interview?

    Thanks a lot.

    Maria Francel

When I went with my Fiance, they told us to request to accompany that person for the interview. But when we did try to request it at window X or Y, they told us it was ok to do so and no need to request your present with the Fiance...

The Pre-Screener is a window, not a room. Also the Counsular interview is a small room w/ a window front blocking you from direct contact with the Interviewer. Basically it is like a Bank teller window here in the States....

  15. When you fill out the delbros form at the Embassy before leaving, it asked for a cell number. You should receive a text that day from Delbros welcoming you to the Delbros SMS tracking and it will have the tracking number in the text. The tracking number is your case number with a letter or number added (I can not remember which).

    Ken & Maria

How do you track you visa process from the Embassy?

DELBROS site click here you must enter the tracking number

Is the tracking number your case number?

    MNL2006820XXX

Ok, Thanks....he did not ask us for a cell number, just the home number.

However, if it is really freaking you out (cool it man B) hehe) if you remember where you bought the ring, the store might still have a copy of the receipt. Also, you might want to try calling your credit card company and ask for a copy of the statement for the month and year you bought the ring. I'm sure one of them will be able to provide you with the receipt and you can then fax that to your sweetie.

49Bstreet, I've heard strange stories that there are embassy employees going around the embassy to detect fraudsters among the applicants. They pretend to be applicants themselves and gain your confidence. The fact that the woman knew you were from Chicago even before you told her kinda gave her "spy status" away. Also, you said you were interviewed for 20 minutes by the consul. Looks like you were really scrutinized.

I think we were scrutinized, PW. We were the last to leave at 11:15 am. The Consular really made my Fiance sweat to answer all the questions. One he asked was "Why do you want to marry her? And don't say to me, it is because you love her." What makes her so special from all the Philippine women here?" He took his time to really read all the letters, emails, birthday cards, notes, gifts reciepts and phone records we had. The Pre-Screener did not want all of them. She only wanted just a small sample. But the Consular asked for this hold big blue binder we had put together and read most of them from front to back. The questions was aprox. 10-15 different questions for my Fiance. But we made it and now his POE is April 7, 2007.

Thanks for all your help, this is a great family to be with.(L)(F)

Yeah that whole exchange you described outside the embassy was really bizzare. Makes me wonder how many of the CO's and embassy staff read this forum. Well just to let them know I found a way to get online and pull a copy of our engagement ring receipt. So now we have that final piece of paper to top out our mountain of paperwork. So ask away. :) Oh and I will be looking for someone to greet me while we are in line at the embassy and say they are from Denver too.

You are too funny, but you better have your amor and guard up. I think they are really sneaky people. Where's the love? Huh?.... Take care and best wishes to you on the 4th. I know you will show them how to be really clever.....:luv:;)

  18. Hi Everyone,

 We GOT APPROVED!!:dance: and the CO congrats my fiancee and said he will approve his visa.. Got the pink slip, hope they will release his visa soon...

but of course we are aware that sometimes even though that your Approved you can be put on AR when they find anything wrong & we are aware with our little discripancy with my fiancee's BC.

Were hoping that CO will let it slide and not to put us on AR but so far they didnt ask for anything, my fiancee mention that the Pre-interview (Lady) didnt even look at our BC,they she just ask for the copy from NSO...

Thanks for all your help here in VJ..!!

    Maraming Salamat Po!

We got the same thing!!! The pre-screener nor the Counselor look at the BC or the Certificate of No Marriage. We came home with those papers.

CONGRADULATIONS ON YOUR APPROVAL!!! GOD BLESS AND GOOD LUCK TO YOU.....

  19. Do anyone know of a flight that has no transfers for one-way from the Philippines to Chicago?

Rate do not matter, I get 75% of travel for None-Rev flights, but I don't know which Airline to use without having my fiance' to change planes.

Also, can we put Chicago as his POE if this will be his first touch down on American soil or the place he has to change planes?

    :help::help::help:

  20. Hi PW...

My interview went well, we passed. Please update the list for me. We were asked alot of questions, and we had the African American guy. He read a lots of emails and letters and birthday cards we had sent to each other. Here are a few questions:

    (1) Where did you meet?, (2) Why do you want to marry and dont say it is because you love her?, (3) how many sisters and brothers we had? (4) My mother's name and father's. (5) Where did I work?, (6) Have he purchased a ring and if so where is the reciept? (7), When will the wedding be?, (8) How many times have we met and when did I arrive in the Philippines for the interview? (9) What is the name of my son and what did he do for a living? (10), What city was I born in? (11), When was my birthday?, (12) What was the name of my bank? This is just some of the questions, it was a lot more. We were with him for almost 15 to 20 mins.

Also note: When we arrived there at 5 am. This woman approached me and said to me how happy she was to see someone else from Chicago. I thought that was strange because how did she know I was from Chicago? So we talked for a little and she asked many questions at 5 am. Then she asked me if I was there for a K-1 visa and I replied, yes and you? She said she was also there for K-1 visa. So, she finaly left and we went to check with the guard to see if we can start to get in line for our 7 am appointment. Once we were inside, I kept looking for this lady and we never saw her again until we were leaving (11:15am). She was working at the Delbros p/u window outside. I wonder why she pretend to be from Chicago and ask me so many questions? I think she thought we were faking our relationship.

Also note to the airport tax has changed to 750 pecsos. I went with 550 pecsos and did not have enough so I just gave here $7.00 US dollars and she let me went thru.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND HELP....!!!:dance::dance::dance::thumbs::thumbs:(L)(F)(L)(F)
