  1. The Juarez consulate recieved our approved I-129 on Sept.22nd and have finally sent out the fiancee packet on Nov 15th according the the person from the consulate help line.

He said it could take up to a month to recieve the packet that was sent to both my fiancee and me in the US. So we are thrilled to know at least it is on the way.

Planning for a Dec 15th wedding, expecting to have the packet any day now and go to Juarez ASAP Hope this helps any waiting for the same from CDJ

Muy Happy in Tucson and Veracruz!

  3. For K1 visas going through Ciudad Juarez, no appointment in necessary. (For K3 visas you do need to wait for an appointment) I also remember reading about people who have gone (for K1 visas) to Juarez without an appointment, but I don't remember if anyone has gone recently without their appointment letter. You might want to go thru the JUarez thread (I know, it's kind of long) to check up if anyone recently has gone to Juarez without their letter. When I was going thru the K1 process I also remember reading about people going thru Juarez without waiting for their letters to arrive, but I don't remember if anyone from our Juarez thread actually did this (it's been a long time).

Also, you need to make sure that your approved I-129F petition has already left the NVC. When your petition is approved it gets sent to the NVC first. Then the NVC sends it out to Juarez. Then the Juarez folks send you your packet of info. to the U.S. and than also to your partner in Mexico. Have you confirmed that Juarez has in fact received your paperwork?

    Yes,

I called the consulate a few weeks after I got the NVC letter saying it had been approved and forwarded to Juarez and the Juarez consulate said they have it and are inputting it into the system and then will send out the packet. Funny thing I've called every week since and talked to 4 different people and 2 said the packet would only be sent to Mexico and 2 others said it would go to both Mexico and my US address. I really hope it comes to me as they said it could take a month for it to arrive to her via Mexican mail!!

    Thanks for the responses!

  4. I thought they would send it in just a few weeks after recieving it as posted here and on the timelines. It has been 8 weeks and they say they are processing it. What gives?? Any one else been waiting this long for the Fiancee packet from Juarez? I have gotten very little response from this site on this question is their any one out there with knowledge on this??

    Thanks in advance

  5. Juarez Consulate recieved our package Sept. 27 and have not sent out anything to my Fiancee yet.

I see the timelines here stating 1 - 2 weeks to send out after consulate recieves it and some posters timelines showing they recieved it in that time as well. What gives??

When I call the consulate pay number they say its being entered into the system and should be any day now. Has something drastically changed in their processing or just a backlog or????

Any comments welcomed! We so much expected her to be here before Christmas and that is looking sketchy now , :(

  7. Hello all,

Our K1 visa was recieved on Sept 27 in CDJ and when I call them they keep saying any day now it could be sent but they have up to 3 months to get the fiancee packet out to her in Mexico.

My question is can I go to the Consulate now and wait in line and ask for an appointment letter??? I have read some have done that and recieved the packet.

I only live 5 hours drive from Ciudad Juarez and even if they dont give it to me it will be a recon trip to spy out the land so to speak. We desperately want to have my fiancee here by Christmas!!!!

    Advice please!

  11. Hi all,

I have been reviewing the posted requirements for the K1 Fiancée packet 3 and the I-134 and have a few questions. We got our NOA2 on Aug 3rd!! And by the way, I submitted the I-129 w-out a lawyer and basically by following the advice on this site got no RFE's :)

    - I am expecting the Packet 3 about 4 to 5 weeks after the NOA2 date is that about right?

1- Does the packet 3 get sent to her address in Mexico or mine in the US?

    2- Will we receive the I-134 or the I-184 for a K1? (I think it’s the I –134)

3- With the I-134 do I have to send it ahead of time to the NVC or to the Consulate or neither and instead have my Fiancee just bring it to the Interview?? I can’t seem to find a clear answer on this one.

4- Does my fiancée need to get a police statement from Mexico? I read on the Juarez Consulate site that Mexico and many other countries do not provide these and don’t try to get it??

5- I’ve read that after she sends in the checklist and required forms showing she has gathered all the items for the interview and verifies that they indeed have received the checklist that we can then go any weekday for an interview at CJ Consulate, true?

    Thanks in advance, James

  12. I am preparing to send in my I 129F and have 5 emails and a birth cert that I translated from spanish to english do I need to write at the bottom of each translated doc that I am fluent in both languages and translated them to the best etc....or can I just attach to the back one general statement this signed statement for all?

    Thanks,

    james

  13. Awesome info from all thanks so much!!

I believe I will write in See attached in que. 18 and describe a half page or so stating our first meeting and then how we subsequently developed and maintained the relationship the last 14 months, including proposal and current status. I am seeing her for ten days over Christmas and was told since I dont have any dated photos(but 100s of dated emails) I should take a few dated photos this trip or have one with a newspaper showing date! Attorney also recommended I send copy and translation of her Birth Cert. which I will do.

Merry Christmas to all Ill be spending mine near the beach in Veracruz with my gal, cant wait!

    Thanks, James

  14. Hello all,

first time poster long time lurker. We are going to file our I-129 & G-325 in Jan after I visit my fiancee in Mexico again over Christmas.

My question is how to answer the employment question as I basically have been living off of my home sale proceeds/ real estate investments the last 5 years (San Diego) and been traveling/living back and forth in Mexico studying spanish, doing photography, teaching private english lessons etc... tough I know : )

I have shown no income for last 5 years on Tax returns. But I have letters from 2 CPA's stating I am a real estate investor, (which I am, owning 4 properties) that I have used to get further loans and refis.

So what should I state for employment? self employed? NONE? Or attach a letter explaining my unique situation and attach one or both CPA letters or do I keep it simple on the g-325 saying none or self and then use the CPA letters, bank letters for the I-134??

I am leaning towards doing this myself w-out a Lawyer although I am meeting with one tomorrow just to review the forms and ask her these same questions she is in Tucson and only charges $1000 for a K-1 and $50 for a consult.

I will post a follow up question about the I-134 later and what to put for my address last 5 years!!

    Thanks

If you have had no income for 5 years, then from what source do you derive an income to support yourself? If your primary income is derived from real estate sales, you are describing self-employed. Your situation is not unique. And unless there's something very complicated with your case, I'd doubt that you need a Lawyer for this. Visa Journey probably has more answers and gives you more access to the big picture and the smallest questions. And they are open 7/24! The Lawyer will be happy to take your money! But if you can afford it and it makes you feel better, then pay the man. It's a $170 filing fee for the I-129F. The Lawyer wants $50 just to chat about the opportunity of filing. You probably won't get to many votes from your fellow VJers for a Lawyer's services!

To elaborate on tax returns and income-

I have derived income from refis which do not have to be reported as income and yes I have filed taxes but showed no real income only one home sale last year. I do feel I will do this w-out a lawyer as I read more here and get que. answered it seems very doable. Thanks for the response. I plan to use assets, bank statements showing deposits, whatever job I have by then also and if that fails to satisfy the I-134 I will use my dad as well as a back up co-sponser as he qaulifies and is willing.

  15. Hello all ,

I have reviewed the site some and dont see any samples letters for this que.

I am doing the initial form completions and want to know should I really add a supplement page for que. 18 or is a simple statement saying we met at a party at a mutual friends house good enough?

And if I add a supplemental sheet how detailed do we get? Do I go beyond the initial meeting description ( they only ask for how you met) and explain also how I- then established the relationship and maintained it -such as I then visited her 3 times in her home town and then moved to Mexico for 6 months to further the bonds of love etc... Do I type in space 18 see attached supplement if one is added?

Also her home towns name doesnt fit in some of the spaces can I just abbreviate or do I attach a supplement page just for her towns name?

    Thanks
