Wow you got extremely fortunate in your RFE dealings. My RFE status has not changed in two weeks. I sent my rfe docs on July 7th they updated my case July 9th acknowledging receipt but nothing since. As you can imagine my anxiety is high!

My adjudicator must be on vacation. Or maybe my docs are at the bottom of the stack again.

Congratulations. I hope you find new healthy love in the future.

Well i soared no details even the bad ones done to me and my affidavits did likewise and my lawyer organised my file and evidence very neat with case law.

i never even got the update or receipt I got the approval notice. But it will be done quickly. Don’t worry. It’s stressful I know believe me. But you’re almost there

@Rob87 Why did they send you an RFE ?  When did they send you the RFE ?Did you tell them that you were in the process of seperating ? Also, Did you file for divorce ? or is it just physical seperation at the moment ?

Congrats on your approval again !

At the time I submitted we had just got back together. Because his sister was super ill and almost passed it brought us back. When she recovered we Realised yea no we still hate another when together too long. When I submitted I didn’t put a lease and the bank documents I thought they only wanted the cover letter that showed both our names. I didn’t realise they wanted statements. My lawyer said that’s a common mistake because they don’t make it very clear but they want actual statements showing that the bank account was in fact active. Cuz anyone can open a joint bank account then never use it. So I submitted a stack of all that. Also we did a living will/healthcare directive giving each other power to enforce our wishes in the event either of us weren’t to be on life support.

But yea we didn’t have the bank account or a lease together cuz we rented from his sister and we never filed taxes together because he had leans on him for unpaid student loans for 3 years so we filed married but separate so that’s why they wanted the RFE. I sent the RFE in after I got a letter form His sister which took the place of a lease, the printed it statements the living will. Updated health insurance and tons more pics. I also and he also wrote long letters stating we aren’t divorced but have been off and on separated since late 2016 so other things are harder to supply because of that and we are planning to divorce. I got about 10 affidavits stating how they saw the relationship play out  and it’s bad times and how I’d stay with them at times cuz he was acting so bad. They approved it within a week. I sent the RFE back July 7th I was approved 7 days later

  3. Happy to report mine adjustment sss approved. They sent me an RFE and I replied back telling them how we were separated but not yet divorced since original filing to remove conditions and gave over more bonafides and a ton of affidavits testifying to how I was mistreated and cheated on and they approved me without any other interview within a week of receiving my RFE answer back to them.

  4. Hello. I know that people can submit the I-751 with a divorce waiver.  when we filed my spouse and I weren’t divorced and had some issues but weren’t divorced and had no intention to divorce. Basically without putting embarrassing details. Via infidelity on their part not mine (I’m the non US citizen) I want a divorce. I can’t take dealing with this anymore and I’ve done everything I can to save the marriage. He refused to sign my divorce papers twice but he finally agrees we just don’t work well as a couple.

So my question is: what do I do? we have already long ago submitted our paperwork NoA was Nov 2 2016 and recently we go the “case was sent to local office” back in Feb 26th

going to speak to a lawyer this week but I was wondering if anyone else who filed has had this happen that after filing you want a divorce? How did it work?

Also if anyone filed a divorce waiver WITH their I-751 how did that go? I’m sure the lawyer can guide me cuz I’m totally lost what to do. you don’t  exactly plan for these kinds of things to occur :-(

  5. Hello.

many of us if not all of us seem to get the standard “your case has been sent and received to your local field office”

doing some research it seems that all cases at the centres are reviewed and marked with an A, B or C. A means the case is easy to approve. B means some things are a bit off but still approveable and C is interview them.

then the cases are sent to the field offices. Technically all cases are required for an interview however the standard practice is to waive this requirement. Almost all A marked cases don’t have an interview. I can’t recall the percentage of B marked cases that are call for an interview but I think it’s like 50-60% don’t have one and C marked ones are likely to be interviewed although that still is up to the field office.

Hope this helps. And of course take this with a grain of salt because as I’m sure we all know it seems we get different info at times from different people which frustrates us all as to if we are doing this process correctly

  6. Thank you. It seems everyone gets that. It’s so frustrating because you get so much misinformation even from USCIS itself. But from what was explained to me and what makes the most sense is that the cases go to a service centre and are reviewed and marked with an A, B, or C. A being easy to approve. B is a so so and C is likely requires an interview and then sent to field offices

Technically all I751s are required for an interview but the field offices are able to waive this and almost all As are waived, most of Bs.

But then you hear from some people if it goes to the field office it’s a for sure interview and then others that the centres are just full so.

    so much info.

What bonafides did you send? It’s been so long since I sent I’m second guessing if I sent enough
