Well... just to close the loop and give God the glory. I just wanted to know that my wife received her new green card at our new address despite the fact that USCIS had our old address. I don't know what happened, i cannot explain it. All i know is that the post office forwarded it to our new address. It's just gotta be God... Thank you guys so much for your help and i just pray that all your cases get taken care of.

Hi All,
Should an applicant who came to the US on a K-1 visa and does not yet have work authorization mark "legal alien allowed to work" or "legal alien not allowed to work" in the citizenship section on the Social Security card application form?
Thanks,
Jillian
I believeit would be " legal alian not allowed to work" since he/she doesnt have the work permit yet...not sure..
We said allowed to work. I used the example here on VJ and have seen lots of references to use allowed to work.
I second this. "Allowed to work" should be checked!

If your application for EAD is past due the 90 days... you should definitely schedule an infopass... this way they will get on it and you should get it quick soon after that.

still nothing here since the touch on the 21st of December.. hopefully something soon.
I'm sure you'll hear something soon... it seems as though they are just getting to applications filed during june in CA.

I just got the great news that my wife's card ordered was put in place. Now my question is should i be concerned that we are no longer living at the address where they are sending these things? We have very good friends that could take care of our mail but i simply don't know if it's going to be a problem with CSIS. I recently submitted a mail forwarding with US Postal Service. Could someone please give me more information on this type of situation. thanks!
Did you complete the change of address form? This has to be done regardless as an immigrant. I don't believe that USCIS mail gets forwarded.
I was actually going to do it this week. We have procrastinated on that. But now that the card is ordered i do not want to delay things. If the mail does not get forwarded, does that mean it will arrive at my previous address? If it does, it's ok since we have friends who live there and pick up our mail.

God sure is great!
For some time i was kind of concerned cause i thought that maybe they had lost our case. I kept hearing of people who had applied around the same time as us and with very similar situations and they had already gotten an interview or the card production. I had already been transferred to CA in July and until now i had not heard anything else. Well today i got great news! God sure is kind and gracious and good! ...It's got to be God who cares for you(me, us)... Hope everyone else is getting good news!
Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

I don't freaking get it... my wife and I got her case transfered to California on July 30th and we have yet to hear from them! This really sucks! Now we moved and I am not sure if i submit a change of address if that is going to delay things even more. Can someone help me please. I could always leave the old address there since the people who are living there are my ex-roommates and good friends. So i don't know what to do. Plus i thought i only had to change the address for my wife and now i heard that i as the sponsor also need to update my address.

HI ALL HAS ANYONE GOT THEIR I-485 APPROVED AFTER THE TOUCHES FROM AUGUST 21 AND 22???????????????
I KNOW SOME PEOPLE HAVE RECEIVED APPROVAL SINCE THEN BUT WE HAVE NOT... WE DID RECEIVED OUR EAD AND AP APPROVAL.... HOPING TO HEAR SOON ABOUT OUR 485 CASE STATUS.

Hello Masterpiece91,
You have to be more patient, your green card will arrive.
Your case has been transfered to Calif, and you already received your EAD, and AP. Your case is really fast, me 9 months after sending my K-1 visa i didn't have my interview yet.
So you have to do an effort to be less worried. What can happen now? nothing bad.
Some people maybe envy you.
Good luck for all of you
You are all right... i just had a moment of weakness... but you are right... it's not even like we need the AOS... just kind of want to be done with this whole process. Anyways... i pray that more and more people get their cases process so that they could at least have what we already have. Thanks!
-
I just don't get it... everything was going so quick and now all of a sudden nothing is getting done on our case... we thought that by now we would be able to finally say we got approved... i see other people who applied after me already getting their approval.... i'm sorry i'm just very whiny today.... i am happy for those who have already gotten their aos approved... just hope they approve ours soon.... we sacrificed alot just to do things the right way... i just want us to be rewarded for that! :-(

Still nothing here with my wife's Green Card! :-(

Ok now i'm getting a bit anxious... i see alot of people are already receiving their approvals but we have not received anything yet! C'mon USCIS don't let me down now!!!!

OMG! June filer!
Hi, everyone. . .
Pls. I need some light for my cloudy mind. I received my green card September 2, 2008. When i check it to verify that the information is correct. I found out it has an ERROR with my Middle name. was lacking one last letter of my middle name is "s".
Q:
How can i correct this error?
Is this is not a Big Deal?
Do you have a USCIS contact number with a real human voice and not an machine operator?
Pls. any help would be amazing!
thanks. . .
Any update on this case? Did you call anyone? I really don't know how to help you. Did you check to make sure that it was their mistake? Check your copy of the documents and make sure you wrote everything correctly, as far as i know if it was your mistake then i think there is a fee... someone please correct me if i'm wrong.
I am still waiting on my wife's green card.... i hope if not this week that next week we could see some action on our petition.

Good morning June filers... just wanted to post something today so we could keep our post on the top of the list :-p
OK... OK.... silly but like the saying goes... out of sight, out of mind.... Sometimes people, who do not know that this post exist, try to make up new ones and then people are all confused trying to figure out which one to follow.... just trying to be helpful!

I have a question regarding my wife's AP documentation. We received 2 documents which are identical which i suppose are her AP documents... i don't quite remember but i believe on the top it states they are forms I-151.... anyways... is it correct that she received 2 copies or was this a mistake by USCIS?

Did anyone reach the 90 days mark without receiving the EAD?In 1 week exactly I will
Hi there! If it reached the 90 day mark thats the time you can make an infopass and for them to phone NBC to make your EAD ASAP
Hoping for good news soon with you. Blessings
I'm just curious - is the 90 day clock from the NOA dates?
I would think so....

Si, man -- no need to SWAMP the USCIS people, but include enough so that when the consulate receives your package, the consulate cannot ignore your "validity" of relationship.By sending as much information now you also facilitate the interview process for your fiancee because you give them as much evidence as possible. You can leave out everything of this nature from your I-129F filing, but there is no guarantee that your consulate will even allow you to present "validity of relationship" when your fiance(e) shows up for the interview.
Well said TBoneTX..... if you send the information you are guaranteeing that someone will at least have it.... if your fiancee takes it to their interview, the interviewer may be having a bad day and decide not to even look at any further evidence.... give it to them now! Your fiancee may hate you for having suck a big package to carry around... but they'll thank you in the end...
-
I sent as much information as i could sent.... i sent about 64 pictures, copies of passport and airline tickets, copies of letter and emails we wrote to each other, records of phone call history. This way i covered all my bases and was able to prove both that we had met in the last two years and that we had an ongoing relationship....
By sending as much information now you also facilitate the interview process for your fiancee because you give them as much evidence as possible. The only downside to this is that it means you have to make sure that all dates and pictures and all evidence coincides with the story you are giving them which it should if you are being honest from the beginning.

There is already intent to immigrate here. We're not here to advocate immigration fraud. In fact, it's against the TOS.
Because there are other threads started by others who married whilst on a tourist visa and they adjusted ok does not mean it's just 'ok' to do. As I said, there is already intent. If it's proven at adjustment that there was intent they will face a ban.
I, for one, would feel awfully bad if a couple had to face something like that because of the advice I gave them.
Pushbrk explained it well. K1 is the best route. We all want to be together 'sooner'.... it's just not the way it works.
If a person came her and said...
I met my spouse while there were visiting and we decided to get married. Can they just adjust status?
or...
My girlfriend came for a two month visit and when it was time for her to go home, we decided we couldn't stand to be apart anymore and got married. Can she just adjust status?
...I would say yes because, in both cases there was no illegal intent. So, yes people legitimately adjust status from tourist visas fairly often.
The OP's question was more like...
We want to get married next summer. Can my girlfriend/boyfriend just use their tourist visa, come over and marry me and then adjust status?
...to which I would answer, "HELL NO!"
See the difference?
This is probably the best answer i've seen that answers the question. Although the wait seems painful it is the lawful way to go in this case since they already know that they want to get married. As far as the fiancee visiting while the fiance visa (K1) is pending... well as long as they have a valid tourist visa and DO NOT over stay their time given at the port of entry it should not be problem.....
NOTE: With every entry to the US a tourist runs the risk of not been allowed to enter the US but if they see that you are honest and you are trying to do everything legit then there should not be a problem.
has anypne received an email from CRIS like this?
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

No worries... this is normal. We also got transferred to CA and a bit later received that same email notification. It simply means that the case is now transferred. For most cases it appears that anyone transferred to CA gets approved without any interview. So i pray all goes well. We already got approved and my wife received her green card.
Also don't worry if it takes a while, we got transferred to CA on July 30th and her application did not get approved until January 8th. It took longer for us than for some people which got me a bit worried for some time, but in the end we also got approved without any interviews.
