Don't worry I just read on facebook about other couples had to go through 2 interviews and they were approved. See attached screenshots. Good luck.Screenshot_2018-07-29-21-30-03.thumb.png.e97b7c3089ee4b3f7629ad2f8d02cfa0.png

Thank you for sharing! Still very nervous and anxious. They told him no documentation is necessary and didn’t ask to interview me as well. They also told him he can go there any day of the week. I hope everything is ok but I can’t find much information or past experiences regarding this.

  2. Hi! My fiance’s interview was on July 13th 2018 and the officer said he was approved and gave him a delivery paper. His visa status now states Administrative Processing. Last week he completed the GCP and obtained a certificate.

Yesterday, my fiance received a phone call from the U.S. Embassy and they said he needs to come back for additional questioning and he doesn’t need to bring anything with him, no additional documents. We are both very nervous. Has anyone else experienced this? Anyone know what this might be?

  3. Hi Everyone!

My fiance's interview was on July 13th, and the officer took his passport and said he was approved. Additionally, she gave him a "delivery" pamphlet which states what number to call to set delivery or pick up preferences.

A little worried, CEAC status is showing as "Application Received" and I cannot find any information on what that means. Trying to be patient, but currently excited and nervous. Thank you for the future responses

There is no need to extend at all just go through with the sputum test and if treatment is needed  then contact the embassy.

My approval notice states its valid until May 1st, I dont need to extend that? Sorry this deadline is worrying me

  5. Hi all, my I129F is valid until May 01, 2018. My fiance went to SLEC today and now needs a Sputum Testing and since the process will take at least 2 months (hopefully negative) it will be past May 1st. My fiance does not have an interview appt yet. Does he have to contact the US Embassy to extend this date? Do I need to worry about this expiration?

Yes it is possible.  Co-sponsors are accepted on a case by case basis with the K-1.  To improve your odds of acceptance the embassy looks for co-sponsors to be close relatives;  parents, siblings.

You will complete the I-134 as well as the co-sponsor, including the most recent tax return and W-2.   If you do not have a tax return, include a letter of explanation as to why.

With that said, don't be too surprised if the embassy doesn't ask for support evidence, they have been very sporadic with asking for this since 2014.  It is still listed in the embassy instructions letter, so best to be prepared.

Thank you! This is the answer I needed. Will it help if my co sponsors are related to my fiance in the philippines?

The above is correct in the sense you don't submit it with the I-129f petition to USCIS; but you do submit I-134 form with documentation to the embassy for the interview.

Then once you marry in the US and apply for AOS, you supply an I-864 form, this replaced the I-134.

I-134 is 100% poverty guideline and technically not legally binding where as the I-864 is 125% poverty guideline and it is legally binding to the petitioner.

Thank you! As a follow up question, since I am a student I do not meet the income requirements. Is it possible to have a joint sponsor? If so, will I have to complete the I-134 along with another separate I-134? Is this accepted in manila?

Thank you! Just clarifying, i DO need to send my fiance a wet signature copy of i134 even though USCIS states that this isn’t needed until he arrives in the US and files the adjustment of status?

  9. Hi everyone! My fiance received a notice stating that the NVC will forward the petition to US EMBASSY in Manila and gave his MNL#. The letter does not provide any instructions except to go to nvc.state.gov/k1 on february. Before reading through this forum, we didn’t know what to do next. As of yesterday we have submitted his K VISA application. Questions:

Does he have to wait for CEAC to say “ready” before scheduling his interview appt?

Do I need to provide the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT  i134 before his interview or will we need that when he is here in the US after we are married?

Can we pay his visa fee ahead of time? (While not knowing when his interview will be)

Also, for proof of relationship, we only have a few pictures, letters, but we have a lot of skype/messenger calls. How do we go about providing documentation for the skype/messenger calls?

    Thank you all in advance!

Some receive the letter and others don't.  I think that is why Hank linked to it.  It is just basic info that you need for the interview.

Once you get the MNL# start tracking yourself on the CEAC site.  If the MNL# is not included in that letter call NVC and get it.  Once you have the number you can go and make some plans.  Medical generally takes 2 days  and since you hand carry the medical to the interview it is possible to do the medical in the same week as the interview.

There are a few thoughts on scheduling the interview.  One says to wait for "READY" at CEAC and the other is to go and book the interview as soon as you get the number but book 3 to 4 weeks out so you know the petition will be at the embassy.  My guess is either way works.

We are still at the waiting for the MNL# point so you are actually farther along than us.

Hi again! This is a very confusing process for us so thank you for your responses. Wish you the best of luck as well!

My fiance has just completed the application for the K visa. Does he need a medical appointment? If so, where can he file for one? He did not receive a letter with instructions so we are trying to read past experiences for help. Where can he schedule his medical appt along with his interview? I will be looking for checklists and guides as well to find out the processing fees and how to pay them. Thank you again.

If you fill out your timeline it will really help us see where you are at.  It sounds like you have already received the NOA2 and have your MNL#.  Is that correct?

Go to this site for excellent information on how to proceed.  It is maintained by Hank who hangs out in the Philippines forum.  Here are links to both.

Hi thank you for your helpful links and response! It shows a detailed instruction letter that my fiance is supposed to recieve but im not sure if he is actually suppose to receive that or if its not applied to our situation? The only

letter he received is simply with the words i quoted ^^ they did not provide any instruction except for the website. Is this the only letter he will receive? Thank you again!

  12. Hello!

I submitted a K1 Visa application for my fiance in the philippines.

He received a letter from US National Visa Center, letter K1-FTP. I am wondering if there are any steps to do after receiving this or will there be another letter with instructions as to how to move forward? The Next Steps on the letter includes: Go to our website http://nvc.state.gov/k1 to learn how to apply for a K visa and prepare for the visa interview.

What do I do during this step or what does my fiance do? We received this letter on February. Thank you for all responses!
