Yes. An immigrant visa number is not available until the PD is current, so there's nothing she's eligible to apply for yet.

The I-130 for the spouse of an LPR appears to be taking 12-18 months to process the last time I checked. It's not uncommon to not hear anything back during this period...they will notify you once they need more information (RFE), approve it (NOA2), or deny it.

That said, the case can't proceed even after approval of the I-130 until the PD is current, which is taking about 24 months currently.

Wow, so even if my case approved it will put aside till PD is current, that is frustrated

I am requesting you kindly to share with your experiences or knowledge regarding filing the form I-130 to bring my wife to live with me. I am a permanent resident and USCIS received my form on March 9 2017. It had been a year and I did not hear anything from USCIS. The office California Service Center. Please help what to do I am really confused.
