Currently cases that were DQ mid May have their interviews for mid December. So you can say they’re about 6 months behind.

Hi All,
I have submitted all of my documents to NVC in January, in April I heard back and one of my documents were rejected and asked to submit a new one so I did so right away. It was review again 3 months later with more documents being rejected on their error. I then resubmitted the document again. One of the documents was a police certificate that was obtained from a previous country of resident, it was only valid for 3 months and now they are asking for a new one which is impossible to receive now that I live in a different country and require traveling back their to get a new one. My question is, am I obligated to get a new one and do the extreme possible or is it their fault for taking 6 months to review the document even tho it was submitted on validity and they rejected it after first approving it

As the petitioner, you are the primary sponsor. You must submit an I-864. Any qualified US citizen or legal resident domiciled in the US can serve as a joint sponsor. Both you and the joint sponsor must submit I-864s, and provide appropriate support documents.
Even if I’m unemployed?

Hi,
I am filing a petition for my husband overseas and we just got approved waiting for case to transfer to NVC. However, I am a bit confused on the AOS and who can be a sponsor. I am currently unemployed and was wondering if a friend can sponsor my husband or does it have to be a relative? And if so, do I still need to file a form along with my joint sponsor? (Do we each need to file?) Also, which form will she need to file?
thanks! -
Okay, thanks for your feedback

Hello everyone,
I have applied a K1 visa for my fiancé overseas and he had his interview December 2018. They placed him under AP and last updated the status with a refusal a year after. Today, the embassy sent us an email apologizing for the late reply and requested new medical exam and police record since it’s been way over time. However, my issue is that we got married overseas after receiving our refusal on CEAS last year. I am confused on what I should do now that we’re married. Do I proceed with requested forms or do I state that we’re married and cancel the visa. We were so desperate to get married and waited for a decision for so long and once we got the denial a year later we decided to marry. Can someone please help?

Hi everyone!
I have been under administrative processing for more than a year and I haven’t heard anything back yet. We have postponed our wedding multiple times but it’s been too long now and we want to get married. What will be the process of getting married during the administrative process?

Hi All,
I wanted to know if it’s possible to ask for my fiancé’s passport back. After his interview they placed him under administrative processing and it’s been 6 months already. I have emailed the embassy several times and only get auto responses back. Also made an appointment for my fiancé to check status in person and they told him to wait. This process has been very stressful especially when you can’t plan your life for the future as it falls under their hands. My fiancé and I are planning to take a trip since no wedding is happening soon and we wanted to know if it’s possible to ask for the passport back without disrupting the administrative processing.

Thank you so much for your response. It definitely gives me peace of mind.

Hello,
My fiancé had his interview today and they gave him an application to fill out along with proof of why I want my wedding in the states. However, I find it odd that his passport was not taken from him despite the addition requirements/ proof with no follow up appointment scheduled. The expiration date for the petition expires in two weeks and I’m still confused on what’s next once proof and forms are submitted thought their PO Box as requested. Has anyone had this issue before? And if so, were you given a second interview with the consulate? If his passport was not taken, does that mean it’s a denial?

I’m not sure about your first question but I’ll answer the second. They are currently interviewing people who got DQed in July
