Hello all,
I have sponsored my wife and she is now a lawful permanent resident. This time I am trying to sponsor my mother. My question is:
Part 5. Sponsor's Household Size, Item 6.
Should I leave this part NONE because my wife is already counted in Part 5. Item 3 (If you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse. - I already entered 1 here)
My household size should be 3 (me +my wife + my mom). If I enter 1 on Part 5. Item 3, my household size becomes 4.

My wife's document got qualified on May 2020. There on the message it said I am not qualified to sponsor my wife and it is up to consular to grant visa. So, on November 2020 I added one joint sponsor on ceac site. Will this cause delay in my wife's visa processing interview at Embassy ? I feel like I made a mistake.

i864 Question 24.a. Total Income. From irs online trx transcript which is the total income that we put in 24.a. ? I don't see Total income in my tax transcript.
Is it WAGES, SALARIES, TIPS, ETC ?
or, ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME ?
or, ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME PER COMPUTER ?
or, is it TOTAL POSITIVE INCOME PER COMPUTER ?
or, TOTAL NET EARNING PER COMPUTER ?
or, TAXABLE INCOME ?

Put both the joint sponsor's I-864 and the joint sponsor's tax transcript in the joint sponsor page that is created once you hit that "Add Joint Sponsor" button.
Thank you Beinkore !

Your current income is what you're making at the time you fill out the form - so it would be $38,000 per year. You should provide paystubs or a letter of employment (on company letterhead) to prove your current income. Don't worry about the fact that it's not on your tax transcript - that's for previous years' incomes, not your current income.
Thank you meese !

On the main page in the Affidavit of Support section, you'll see a button with burgundy text that says, "Add Joint Sponsor". Click that button and put their document's in there. Good luck!
I saw it, thank you.
One more question , so where do we upload the tax transcripts for joint sponsor, is it on the Affidavit of Support Document (I864) section ? I did not see section for joint sponsor tax transcript ?

Hey guys,
I noticed after submitting my dad’s joint sponsor I-864 that I put in the wrong number for his 2018 income, and that it doesn’t match the number on the tax transcript that I uploaded. Both numbers are well above the minimum requirement.
Do you think it would be worth calling the NVC to try and correct it? Could this be grounds for a rejection?
Already got our application returned once because I didn’t put my dad’s documents in a separate joint sponsor tab, and another setback would be pretty devastating!
Any thoughts would be highly appreciated.
I also have a joint sponsor, so which is the separate joint sponsor tab in ceac website ?
Is it the Additional AOS Supporting Documentation where we add a document ? Is this where we also upload joint sposor's tax transcript ?

My 2019 was very bad, I almost did not work. My income was below $10,000.
2018 was $ 25,000
2017 was $ 28,000
But this year I got new job just starting from Feb 2020, I currently make $38,000 per year.
So, for Part 6, No. 7 My Current Individual Income is ?
Should I put my new income which does not show on tax transcript which is $38,000 , what should I put there ?
Also, for Part 6, No. 1 and 2. Should I put the current employer and position which is not in last year's transcript ?

I am filling out i-130a for my wife since she is abroad and won't be signing the form as well. My wife can read and understand English.
For Part 4, Page 3 Spouse Beneficiary's Statement.
I have checked 1.a. and left unchecked 1.b. and 2.
I have left 6.a. (Spouse Beneficiary's Signature) blank and typed in date in 6.b. (Date of Signature)
Which items should I check or uncheck described above ? Do I need to put myself as preparer ? Is 6.b. (Date of Signature) necessary since she cannot sign the form ?
thanks in advance !

If the I-864 is insufficient at NVC, they will send a checklist request a new, satisfactory I-864 from you and/or a joint sponsor.
If NVC accepts the I-864 but the CO at the embassy refuses the visa, he/she will issue a 221(g) requesting a satisfactory I-864 from you and/or a joint sponsor.
Both cases would eventually be fine if you eventually have a satisfactory joint sponsor. It will just delay the case (usually a month or 2 for NVC(?), or anywhere from a week to few months at the embassy level...depending on how quickly they process cases).
My suggestion would be to find a joint sponsor just in case.
Thank you so much geowrian

Thanks geowrian
They are 55 and 57 years old.
Suppose, if they reject my application for i864 for being borderline income. Can I still find co-sponsor and reapply again for i864 ? How will this work ?

I am filing petition for my father and mother. I was independent contractor. My total adjusted gross income was like this
Federal poverty guidelines for household of 3
2016 = $25,605 $25,200
2017 = $25,407 $25,525 (-$118)
2018 = $27,840 $25,975 (currently working this will be my adjusted gross income this year)
I have filed I-130 in July 2017. I am still waiting for response from USCIS. Currently I am working in W-2.
My question is since my income is below poverty line for 2017 will I be able to sponsor my parents on my own or do I need to find co-sponsor ? Will NVC reject my application for -$118?

two separate petitions, two of everything, you can send them each in one package and then put them together in one big envelope since they are going to the same place
two separate checks or money orders, even if you send them together, they still could be split up and managed by two separate employees, so they have to be treated as separate, and each have their forms, documents and payments
I am about to send my i-130 petition for my parents next week.
USCIS website says - " Mark the envelope and the cover letter with the nature of the submission. For example, Original Submission, Brief for an Appeal, or Response to Request for Additional Information."
- " Mark the envelope and the cover letter with the form number. For example, I-129, I-130, I-690 or I-698."
Do you have to write cover letter with your petition ?
So you also write the form no like i-130 on top of the mailing address ?

Sorry to bother you guys. I was filling out Form i-130 for my parents.
Page 6, Part 4, Question 22
Date Marriage Ended.
My parents are currently married, Should I leave it blank or write NONE or write CURRENT ?
Page 6, Part 4, Question 25.(a)
Provide information about the beneficiary's spouse and children.
Do I have to write my name here since I am already saying that he or she is my dad or mom ?

Just now, Andsco said:
I would go for one or another, not both. I know it's silly but sometimes they can complain. Make sure you can read it if you decide to do it by hand otherwise just go with computer.
I would like to go with computer because my handwriting may not be understandable to reader but I cannot type NONE or N/A where the form takes numeric data.
-
I would like to type on i-130 which looks clean and clear. But I cannot type N/A or NONE in some boxes that does not apply for me.
For example: Part 2 , Item 16 How many times have you been married ?
I have never been married. I was going to type NONE (that what the instruction says). But it does not let me type NONE.
So, my question is can I type some information from computer and hand write some information with pen after I print i-130 ?
Or it has to be all typed or all hand written ?

If you are filling for your dad u need to send your parents marriage certificate initially to the uscis with the i130 form. Later at nvc stage u will be required to send the above mentioned documents photocopies I mentioned before. Then at interview abroad your parents will take the originals with them.
MrsKhan, Thank you very much. I am about to do processing for my older parents, hope trump will not stop them.

Yes birth certificates, marriage certificate and police certificate are required.
Do I need my parents birth certificate to send to USCIS while processing I-130 or I-864 ? Or, they will need to show it at US embassy abroad ?

Hope you guys are doing well.
Do I need my parents birth certificate at any point in this journey till they are granted immigration visa from abroad ?

Hey guys,
I am going to file petition for my parents who live abroad.
In the USCIS website it says to file petition for mother I need birth certificate that contains my name and my mother's name.
My birth certificate contains names of my both the parents. Can I still use this birth certificate to file petition for my mother or I have to make a new one that contains only my name and my mother's name.
Thank you for your time.
-
If I file petition for my parents as of now 3/5/2018. Will I need to show my taxes for 2018 or they will ask for my pay stubs ?
I work as independent contractor(Lyft driver) , I don't get pay stubs. I don't make same money every week. Some weeks I make money some weeks I don't.
If I write I work for Lyft as a driver, do they call Lyft to verify my work ?
-
To file petition for both the parents who live abroad, how much I should be making? I am single. No kids or any other dependent.
I work as independent contractor, how much income I should show in my taxes?
Thanks.
