Hi. My wife's biometrics appointment is scheduled for next week, but we were wondering if she could get them done today?" Any suggestions, tips, or advice on what to say or how to approach "them"?...sounds good to me.. I think that was my pitch except it was for my biometrics. Just be polite and smile.
I never had a problem with mine . I did it..1 week earlier. At first I was told they don't take 'walk ins'. I was also asked if I had a valid reason. I said there was a conflict with my schedule. He asked me if I can provide proof. I just stood there and didn't show anything ..then he asked for my appointment letter, green card, and ID and told me to fill out the form. While he was looking at my ID he was telling me that he decided to take me because they were not busy that day but otherwise they stick to the schedule of appointments. I don't know if he was telling the truth..maybe..I guess it depends on which office you go.

I always believe that you can never hide the truth. It will come out no matter what. They did something horrible to that innocent man, then they should pay for it even if it costs millions.

We didn't have any problems using xoom. We have used this money transfer service often for many years now ( 5 yrs.) for direct deposit into the bank account, pick up or delivery services. Before we experienced delays but now it is faster like Western Union or Money Gram.Is xoom the same as western union when it comes to quality service? anyone had problem using it? I use western union and every trasaction is excellent. I'm thinking of trying xoom to save money but I'm afraid my family in PI may not get the money right away
Thank you for you reply. What also encouraged me to try it ,is that I can use my credit card. I tried to do transaction with WU using my CC but it was such a pain and I gave up.

What helped me : the fact the my huband lived with me in PI before we moved here. After we got married he decided to stay. When i came here I was already well adjusted as a wife to him. 2nd, his family is very supportive, they made me feel like I was back home. 3rd I already have family members here so we visit them as often as we can. I am very luck I never experince what they call homesickness

I think its both and can't be either one. It's a gamble because there are risks involve. It's a business contract coz it needs commitment, and each party somehow invests something on it and of course wants something good out of it.

There are more Filipino food my husband doesn't like than he likes. He likes adobo and lumpia ( I think these are the top two fil food that foreigners like )
He doesn't like:
dried fish -hates it even just the smell of it
pinakbet
sinigang
any recipe that has fish on it
kare kare
binagoang baboy
tortang talong

I'm sure it's a given but just to make explicit:
one has to be a LEGAL resident of the third-party country, to be able to do the process from there
[/quo
i dont know if she is a legal resident of that country..for sure , she is holding an ARC..alien residence certicate...not quite sure if that will make her considered as a "legal resident" ......
thanks so much for all the replies...God bless!

this site has been so helpful to me when my husband and I are still processing my spouse visa. Now im already in the US...happy together with the man i love..im so thankful to all the members who were so unselfish in sharing their knowledge to me and to other who needed help.
this question is not for me though.its for a friend.just want to know if its possible for someone working abroad to be petitioned on a Ki visa without going back to his/her home country . been trying to search bout this topic but to no avail.

my fellow vjers..
thank you so much for all your help with my visajourney..finally im done with my interview and thank GOd!...i was approved ..im so happy and very thankful that it went fine.
my interview was at 6:30 and i went to the embassy at 5:am.
didnt remember the exact time when they let us in but i was done around 9:30 AM.
i had my fingers scanned first before the pre-interview others had vice versa.
during my pre interview..the interviewer asked me these questions:
who is your petitioner?
what is your relationship with him?
how did you meet?
when did you meet?
when is your birthday?
you already travelled overseas right?
how many times?
what countries?
how long in each country?
he wrote down everthing he has asked from me and all my answers.
then asked if i have pictures of me with my husband...I just held my folder upright and open the pages one by one so he can see them through the glass window.. it didnt fit when i tried to slide it in.
after that he told me to wait for my number ...for the interview by the CO..
He never asked for any document except for the pictures..But i got everything ready ..
I was so nervous..i can literally hear my heart beating...prayed in silence.
Then my number pops in the screen...THE CO was so nice...she had a big smile made me feel little at ease..
i was asked the same questions the pre -interviewer asked from me..with a one addition: what does my husband do for a living...then I saw she was holding the same paper in which the pre interviewer wrote down my answers..I saw all the documents that we submitted to the NVC..she looked at them one by one..read few words..frown from time to time , looking so engrossed with what she is reading and then smile at me..then looks like she is thinking of some questions she can ask but she didnt...then ask if i got pictures with me...
she never ask for any document but just look at our pictures..this time my folder fit in the little hole of the glass window...she typed something in her computer ..then signed on one of the document that we submitted before..
then told me i am approved..with eyes wide open i asked her again?? did you say im approve maam..she smiled and said YES and wait for your name to be called for the next step..she said have a nice day..I was so happy i said thank you so much maam..couple of times and told her have a nice day too..
GOod luck to others who will have their interview...soon/ in the coming months..

Hi fellow vj members,
i just open my e mail today and im so surprised that I got letter from the NVC which says:
Dear Sir or Madam,
All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's
processing has been received. As soon as an interview date has been
scheduled, the designated representative of this case (petitioner) will
be notified. The US Embassy may require additional documentation at the
time of the interview.
Regards,
National Visa Center
its only been less than 2 weeks (10 days to be specific) since the day they received my ds-230...My question is..does it mean my case is complete @ the NVC and anytime they gonna forward it to the US embassy in manila? this might be a stupid question and i may be skeptical but i dont want to put my hopes high. im expecting a message like Your case has been forwarded to the US embassy of your country or the likes.....or maybe something like Your documents have been reviewed and appoved.i called the NVC but the automated system is not updated yet.i will only be able to talk to an operator on monday..im confused.
does anyone of you got this kind of message?hope you guys can help me with this.
thanks so much
