  1. Hello,

My fiancé's K1 visa was submitted in February 2017 and approved in August/September. Because we were abroad, we didn't have her medical completed until mid-December which was less than a month after the K1 visa approval letter expired.

Fortunately, we received a letter from the London embassy asking if we were still pursuing the visa.

We have responded yes and asked for an extension.

We haven't heard back regarding the extension but we are confident that it was granted.

The reasons for the extension is because we are not ready to get married yet due to circumstances in our careers/personal lives but we definitely will in 2019.

We want to avoid reapplying for K1 visa again and keep the current approved K1 visa valid by extending the interview date for another 6-9 months (maybe even 9-12 months, if possible).

    My questions are:

    1. Is it possible to extend the K1 interview date for another 6-12 months?

    2. If so, how do we do so and what is the best way? What are the costs?

Thank you for your time and help. We really appreciate your input.
