    Hi Shae n Stalin,

So once your i130 is approved by USCIS your case will move to the national visa center aka (NVC).  You should have a receipt number that you can plug in at this link to tell you where you are at with USCIS - specifically, if they sent your now approved case to the NVC - https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

If they haven't - you can call USCIS and ask them when your case will be sent to the NVC AND you can also contact the national visa center for your new case number.

The national visa center has a nice FAQ located at this link - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/national-visa-center.html

You have several steps to go through before your national visa center gets sent to the consulate in the DR for your loved ones interview.

This link should help you understand what those steps look like -http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

You have no need to get a loan or any such thing - at this time the fees in total from start to finish will never cost $10k as all of this paperwork can be done by yourself and your husband.

I also just noted that the date you shared is 2007 - you need to contact USCIS and NVC at least every 6 months to a year to maintain an open case with them or you may have to start this whole process over again.

    We wish you luck.

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I'm going to start reading the links you sent me. I really really appreciate it!!!!

  2. Hello everyone! I'm new here! I filled my application for my husband in September. He's in Dominican republic and I'm in the US. I am a citizen. I received a notice that my application was approved and my day was October 6, 2007. The form was I130. That's the last I've heard. My service center is Texas and today they finally moved the cases and are working on July. It was in March the other day .Does anyone know about how long it takes for an interview? What do I need when they finally get to our case? Is there anything I can do financially to help? He has two houses there and he's a captain in the national police. I told him to start saving because I'm a single mom of five, right now and am struggling. I started working on my credit because I had none. I know I can get a loan but probably only for 10,000. Sorry for all the questions but I'm lost and I miss him very much.

    Thank you ❤️
