Please update us on the list. Thanks!!

Congrats to those who will soon be receiving a Green Card in the mail!!!
Our EAD was approved today and card production ordered!!!!!
I hope we receive it soon so that my hubby can work before our big religious wedding in August... we sure need the money!

Congrats tijuanahilton, mfarmer2, and Pepito-AKA-Jaime!!!
Good luck GabachaYucateca!!
I remember all the stress of that day, but very soon you will have the visa in hand and will be here with your honey.
As for me, we're still waiting for our EAD and green card, but based on processing times, it should not be too much longer
This part of the process is much better since we are together. Our big wedding is in 54 days and I'm starting to get really excited and stressed with all the things I have left to do!!

Hello! I forgot to post when we got our pending email. We received it on June 3rd (on a Sunday, which is weird). Since then we have had only two touches on the AOS and nothing on the EAD. I wish we would hear something about the EAD, which is what we are really needing right now. Good luck everyone!
-
Hello! Could someone please add me to the list? Thanks!
Our AOS was transferred to CSC on May 16th. We have biometrics coming up this Monday. All dates are in my signature. Good luck to everyone!!

) I hope it goes fast!! Good luck to everyone!
Our biometrics are this Monday. I hope it's as quick as for many of you here.

Congrats Janet and Edgar!!! So happy for you!
vismaster - NVC sent it on Nov 29 and the Consulate actually received it a few days later by DHL, but they didn't actually touch it until January 29th (so it took them about 2 months to "receive.") That was the most annoying wait of all, knowing that it was there, but they just didn't get to it until 2 months later. We wrote them a lot and they apologized saying that it should never take more than 2 months. I received the packet Feb 5th and the packet sent to Roberto in Mexico still hasn't arrived.
tijuanahilton, GabachaYucateca - Roberto took the police certificate (constancia de antecedentes no penales) with him but they never asked for it at the interview. I think it is a pointless document anyway because it's only done by state, so if you committed a crime in another state, it may not even show up. I would say that if you can get it, just do it so that you feel better having it, but they most likely won't ask for it.
UCLA_Cutie - Good to see you back here! Keep us updated on your AOS. We did not apply for Advance Parole because we do not need it right now, but if the need comes up and he still does not have his green card, we will probably apply.
Good luck to the rest of you!!! Hang in there KitKat!! I hope to read more happy news soon!!

Hi everyone! We received the Biometrics appointment letter in the mail today. It is scheduled for 05/21/07. It seems kind of far from now, but I guess we will have to wait.
Thank you for correcting my name in the profile florida_guy07!
Have a great weekend April Filers!

No way! We have the same birthday Allie! I think I will celebrate on cinco de mayo instead of the 7th too! Have fun and happy birthday!
-
Hello! It's so good to hear that things are moving along for many of you! Congrats Gabacha, tijuanahilton, and alcatrazk...
Roberto and I already filed for our AOS and EAD, and we are now awaiting our Biometrics appointment. Other than that we have been really busy planning for our big wedding in August. I will continue to check back in here. I hope for a speedy process for all of you, especially those who have been here for a long time and are stuck in the waiver process.
Kristen_y_Efrain, you should check out the April filers thread in the AOS section. Allie & Leo, Brenda, and I are also April filers.

Just to clear things up, the NOA date on our list is the date on the Notice or is it the date we received the NOA in the mail??
Also - my profile name is AgRo - not Aqro. Thanks in advance for correcting it. Every time I try to paste the list into a post, it ruins the alignment, so I will let whoever was posting it to continue. Hope to see some more NOAs and Biometrics appointments on our list very soon!

I just got home and checked the mail, and our NOA1s were there!!!!

I guess it was nothing to worry about... delivery was reattempted and was accepted like 4 hours later, just like Dr_LHA said. Maybe they were at lunch when they tried to deliver the first time. Thanks for the responses

I sent our AOS paperwork by Fed Ex to the non PO Box USCIS address in Chicago (427 S. LaSalle - 3rd floor; Attn: FBASI, Chicago, IL 60605-1098) and it was supposed to be delivered today. The delivery was attempted around 11 am but it could not be made because the "customer was unavailable or business was closed." Is today some holiday I don't know about? Why would the office be closed in the middle of the day? Has this happened to anyone else?
I hope that they reattempt the delivery and that it works. I really don't want to lose a week getting the package back and resending it by regular mail.

Hello! Count me in as well... I just sent our I-485 & I-765 off today. It's so nice to be done filling out all of that paperwork!
Good luck to all!

Has anyone had an AOS interview in Indianapolis recently? What was your experience? just curious as we are waiting for ours!
Thanks!
Anyone going through the process in Indianapolis - I would appreciate any info you can provide.
My husband just finished getting all of his vaccinations through my family doctor and now I am on a hunt to find a civil surgeon that understands that we don't need another medical exam, just the I693A supplement filled out AND one that doesn't charge too much... so far the ones I've called either don't understand that K-1s don't need another exam or want to charge a lot. Anyone in Indianapolis have a good experience with a civil surgeon?
Thank you!!

Can anyone please confirm that on the I-864 Affidavit of Support question 1, I, the petitioner, need to mark A (as seen in example forms), and the co-sponsor needs to mark E (second of 2 sponsors).
Thanks in advance!

I don't think you will ever have an exact translation to a lot of words. I have found that between Polish and English too... I think Spanish and Polish are just richer than English in choice of vocabulary.
I have always tried to think of 'tramite' in the broader sense as a "procedure" which could include "paperwork" as KitKat said and other things although it really depends on the context.
I also find it frustrating when translating to English and not being able to find an exact word for what I can say in another language. Usually there is something close to that word but not exactly the same.
Back to a question I posted earlier about Advance Parole - I know this forum is not about AP but those of you who did apply for it, what did you write for the date you expect to leave the country? Did you just pick a random date if you didn't have one in mind? Cassandra - you said you would reccomend getting AP just to have it - what do you plan on writing for the date?
Hope to see some NOA2s and packets arriving soon for those waiting!!
Un abrazo,
Agnieszka

Hello! Roberto and I are doing great! We were legally married over 2 weeks ago and love living together in our apartment. His parents came for the civil ceremony and it was the first time they met my parents. It was interesting because at my house we speak Polish and of course my parents speak English too, but Roberto's mom does not speak English so we did have to do a lot of translating between the three languages. In the end, it all worked out and both sides of the family were extremely pleased with the visit and the wedding. Now I am back to wedding planning full swing for the big religious wedding this summer.
We are almost done with the AOS/EAD paperwork. Roberto has no records of his vaccinations in Mexico so I took him to my family doctor (Roberto is now under my insurance since we are married). It was all free with my family doctor because he is in the network under my insurance. Roberto got the Hep B and Tetanus booster shots since the doc said it is always good to have those, and he had titers done for all the rest to check if he has the antibodies and to prove that he did have some of these shots done in Mexico. If any of the titres turn out negative, he'll have to get the vaccines, but I think we can take care of that within the next couple of weeks and send off our paperwork.
We are still debating whether we should apply for Advance Parole. On the AP paperwork it asks when our proposed travel date would be, but we don't have one. We just wanted to apply for AP in case he has to leave the country (his grandmother is 98 and he may have to go back at some point if necessary), but we do not have any trips planned. Should we hold off on applying and see if we get the green card quickly. We can always apply later right?
Hope everyone is doing well! I need to get back to work... I will comment on some of the other posts later.

Thanks Lucy! I am sure that I will have some questions when I start filling out all of that paperwork. We just moved into our apartment and so far everything is great! I have a funny story I thought you might all enjoy.. it's funny now but was not so entertaining at the moment.
I went to Bed Bath & Beyond with Roberto to buy more things for our apartment and it was freezing cold outside. First thing I did when getting into the store was go to the bathroom. Well after I went, when I was pulling up my pants, my engagement ring slipped off my finger (that has never happened before, it fits perfectly) and fell right into the hole in the toilet!!!!
I screamed because I couldn't see it under the toilet paper and some lady and Roberto came running in. She looked at him like "why are you in the women's bathroom" and as soon as I told them what happened, Roberto took off his jacket and stuck his arm into the toilet rescuing my ring with a bunch of toilet paper attached. What a superhero!
Thank God it didn't actually go down and that it was not an automatic flush toilet. The lady just kept laughing and saying "don't worry you'll still get married even without the ring" and "I wish I had a camera so that you could play this at your wedding."
I'm just happy my goregous ring didn't go down... lesson to be learned: when it's cold outside and your ring gets loose on your finger, clench your fists when pulling up your pants.
(or just take it off so that you don't risk losing it).

Thanks for the advice! We went to the Social Security office and were in and out in about 45 minutes. Everything went smoothly and he should have his Social Security card in less than 2 weeks.
Yay!! Well, back to packing, I have so much left to do. Moving is not fun, but moving with my honey is!
-
Kristen_y_Efrain - CONGRATULATIONS!!! I'm so excited for you!
Janet and Edgar - "just fill out the G-325A (it's 4 pages) and sign it" Good luck!
Roberto has been here over a week now! Right before he came some people from work threw me a bachelorette party on the same night he had his bachelor/going away party in Mexico so that was our last wild night out! I can't believe our civil wedding is next week!! I am taking tomorrow off work to get our marriage license, social security number and pack because on Saturday we are moving into our own apartment!!! wooooohooooooo!!!
I hope we don't have any problems getting the SS card. Any tips? On the SS application form question #3 you have to check either Legal Alien Allowed to Work or Legal Alien NOT allowed to work in which case you have to provide proof of why you are getting the SS number for reasons other than work. So should we check the allowed to work box since K1s are "authorized to work" but can't without the stamp? I'm afraid that if we check the other one, they will ask for supporting evidence as to why he needs a SS number other than work. Aghhh... back to stressing about things lol. At least we are together at last. Any help on this SSN would be appreciated. Thanks!
