Mike and all....Thanks Mike! I always, I see you are helping and "giving back" to the forums. The G-325A should reflect the same name you use on the I-485. If your wife is taking your last name (as mind is), use it. You can easily explain why the names on the passport and K-3 visa do not match the application. Your marriage certificate supports the explanation. This is what we did and we got an AOS interview with NO RFE.Mike
Hola AllSo my question is, should the G-325A form reflect my wife's name change? Thanks.
Tony
I admit I'm dense. ;-) When you say that the marriage certificate supports the explanation, are you saying that the certificate has her new name? Or simply is evidence as to the reason for the name change? I know - it's obvious, but sometimes the obvious stuff isn't. For me at least.
First things first, Congratulations Parkpapa on the visa !!! Here is the link to the new USCIS Fee Schedule: http://www.uscis.gov/files/nativedocuments...edule052907.pdf The $1010 I-485 fee includes the AOS, EAD, AP, and a price increase. The biometrics fee is waivered depending on your visa type. A 129-F application increased from $170 to $455. Also if the application is postmarked before July 31st, you use the old fee schedule. There is an article on the fees posted on the home page on VJ.

Hello All, Hope all is well with each of you, I was wondering how does one know where to have there medical examination done. Is there a website I can go to? Also I am bringing over my step-daughter will she have get a medical examination also? I am trying to get a head start and become aware of the process. Any Info is greatly appreciated
HELP IS HERE. OPTION#1= WAIT FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT LETTER. OR #2=GO TO THE EMBASSY'S WEBSITE http://bogota.usembassy.gov/wwwfcivappointment_temp.pdf. GO TO PAGE 6 FOR THE EXAMINATION INSTRUCTIONS. A LITTLE SUGGESTION. CALL FOR YOUR EXAMINATION APPT. AS SOON AS YOU GET YOUR LETTER. WHY? MY FIANCE HAS TO GO TO BOGOTA ON JUNE 1ST FOR ASKING FOR THE POLICE REPORT.(2-3 DAY WAIT FOR THE REPORT). SHE CALLED ON MAY 18TH FOR AN APPT. WITH THE DOCTOR (OUR INTERVIEW IS ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 6TH). THE DOCTOR HAD ONLY 1 APPT. AVAILABLE BEFORE THE INTERVIEW. PLUS YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE LABORATORY BEFORE GOING FOR THE PHYSICAL. REMEMBER THE LABORATORY & PHYSICAL HAS TO BE DONE 2 DAYS BEFORE THE INTERVIEW. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP DIGGING IN "THE BARREL OF PATIENCE"
TYPING ERROR : "FIANCEE" NOT FIANCE. I APOLOGIZE.

Jeff,
Excellent post. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I hear that the cut-off date is between the 15th and 20th of every month....hopefully we got ours in time for a late June appt. No biggie, early July appt. will do fine as well.
Jeff,
Is there a way to verify that the embassy received the fax?
the fax machine usually gives a receipt when the fax goes thru or wait for the phone call. Maria faxed them twice and called back twice( concerning packet#3). jeff

Just to get things going on the next step after NVC. Us January CSC filers seem to be a cohesive and supportive group. I would like to keep this trend going to the interview. Thanks for all your support guys/gals!!! Lets keep this train choo-chooing (sp)
Well, Wendy will be faxing packet 3 to the embassy tomorrow. She will also snail mail it to the Bogota embassy tomorrow. Anyone else at this stage already??
Any Jan. CSC filers with interview dates already?
Chime in!!
I'm an early Jan filer. Tell Wendy not to bother mailing the Packet#3, it not required. Fax only thr DS-230 part 1 and the OF-169 to the embassy. Check out these 2 links: packet#3=http://bogota.usembassy.gov/wwwfck1instrucciones_temp.pdf packet#4=http://bogota.usembassy.gov/wwwfcivappointment_temp.pdf
You will receive packet#4 in 2-3 weeks depending on where Wendy lives. Mine fiancee is from Cali and we faxed the documents on May 1 and received packet#4 by mail on May 17. If you don't receive Packet#4 in 2 weeks do one or the other: get Wendy to fax a letter to the consular section ( put name, phone no.,case no. and the problem). They will call her back and tell her the appointment date and resend her another packet#4 or you can call the Visa Help Center @ 202.663.1225 between 8:30am & 5pm ET (call @ 8:30) ask them to look and see if you have an appt. Provide your case number and Wendy's full name. Since you faxed the documents after the 15th, which is the cut-off date for June appts., Your appt. might be in July(probably 1st week)or maybe you'll get lucky and get an appt. the last week of June. Go look @ my timeline and get an idea for your appt. date. I guessed@ our appt. date when we received the NOA2 and only missed it by 5 days. June 6th. Good luck!!! jeff

Go check out the Colombian thread we have going in the Foreign embassy forum, it's loaded with info that you might find useful, including hotels in Bogotá. If you don't find it, you can ask there and I'm sure someone there will let you know.
Diana
Diana, I called the Visa Help Center this morning and the lady was very helpful. We have a June 6th appt.!!!! We're very happy. The stress level is definitely lower now. Now, we can start our planning. Thanks again. Jeff

Jeff,
Call the Department of State Visa Helpline in Washington, D.C. @ 202.663.1225. They should be able to let you know when you have your interview appointment. The US embassy website for Bogotá is just whack some times, so don't rely on it 100%.
Diana
Thanks for the info Diana. I waited to late to call today. I'll try tomorrow. I was digging deep into embassy's website earlier and found April's appts. Your right, the website is little screwed up. If you have any suggestions for hotels in Bogota, post them for me. thanks again, jeff

Buenas tardes to all of the Colombian members,
I was looking at the"list of scheduled appointments" on the US Embassy's website for June appts. and they're only showing March appts. I remember last month looking at the appts. and they showed March, April & May appts. Do they post the list of appts. in the morning?, in the afternoon? or @ night? of the 15th. Are they just typically slow? If anyone could give me a little info, it would be appreciated... mucho gracias.

HI Everyone,
I am wondering what i should do with the time i have between the I-129F NOA1 and NOA2; can i do anything to be better prepared.
Once i get the NOA2 for the I-129, what is the deal with the I-134 the form does not seem difficult. What are the next steps for me and my wife.
Where does the medical exam and police record check etc come into play.
I see a lot on these boards about eh I-130 and I-129F, filing it, NOA stuff like that, but not much about the rest of the process from I-129f NOA2 onwards.
Can any of my learned VJ members enlighten me; thanks.
OK, I just went through this as a petitioner and was given the deep cavity search. Here's my take on it. I suggest you start getting your supporting documentation together. By this I mean start contacting your Human Resources coordinator about an employment letter( stating the date you were employed, position and salary). Obtain all evidence of insurance benefits you are enrolled in...from the insurance companies. If you have property, gather the property deed and a current appraisal. Start stacking up 1 years worth of your bank statements and get certificates of any stocks you own. These documents should satisfy the support requirements. You should also begin filling out the DS-230, DS-156 and DS-156K..

Hi there, I filed I-485 and I-130 for my mom on April 12/2012, then I got a letter from USCIS where they said my case was transferred to California Service Center to speed up the process!!!
speed up??? by this time still waiting for a response I called customer service they told me to get an INFOPASS app, because my case was taking more than estimated time. at the appointment the USCIS officer said all the documents were complete and the case should not take more than 4 months after the transfer day to Calif.SC, he wrote an email to California end the answer was we were gonna have some response on Dec.8/12....nothing. Could someone tell me what is the next thing to do? just wait??? is not fair at all!!!
Thanks for your help...
