  1. I'm doing whatever my congressman tells me because he sped it up for us, The liason at his office said we are now doing K-3 however the 129f and the 130 were approved at csc on the same day. I am in Vietnam right now so I have not been able to check my mail box in a couple of weeks back home. I'm sure that will provide greater insight as to what I am truly doing. I am hoping K3 for sure because if it is then I will be clear of NVC and at the Embassy by the time I get back home.

Congrats on approval. I just wanted to confirm whether or not you are applying for a K3 or IR-1/CR-1 visa as your timeline states K3 and your profile states IR-1/CR-1. Just asking so that I know whether or not to include your processing dates on the spreadsheet.

    Cheers

  2. Hoang Kim is the name. It's actually in district 7 right on the edge of District 8. Yes there is a tub with a shower head in it. The place is brand new and quite nice for the price. 50,000d for a taxi to down town.

Yeah the cheapest room at Metropole is now $130 usd but they are awesome rooms and a great pool but if your straying 2 weeks or more then $130 a night is a killer.

Hi, can you give me the name of the district 8 hotel with vip suite? Got a tub? I have heard of the Metropole but wow, I heard it was $40 a night ... INFLATION IS A B*TCH.

  3. I'm in district 8 right now with my wife. We spent 300,000d a night for a new vip suite and the staff is awesome. Hoang Kim is the name. Only 4 floors but quiet and nice. 200,000d for a lesser room but just as nice and always hot water and fresh towels. I stayed at Hotel Metropole last time at $180 usd a night. This is wayyyyyy better. There is a restruant up the street that delivers great american Italian food called the Red Tomato, great food, Home away from Home

  5. I called my congressman, they all should have an immigration specialists on hand, in my case they told me call as much as I wanted and they would do all they could to help. Only problem was you must have a dire need for them to expedite. I was told unless it's a medical condition there is little then can do to help. Since 911 the hands of the congressman are tied is what I was told. My congressman was able to check on my case and make sure that all was good and look for any problems prior to an RFE. Hopefully all states are as willing to help as mine.

  6. Thanks to everyone who said congrats!

I am currently in Vietnam with Nhi and will return to Kansas on 7-10-08. I am expecting to have NVC approval by the time I return. My congressman called me while I was here, hate to see my cell bill, and confirmed that we were approved for expediting all the way through the Vietnam embassy. With some luck Nhi will be able to come to the states soon. I'm not sure how much influence they have on the Embassy but after they called me I was approved by USCIS in 24 hours.

    Thanks , Jim and Nhi

  7. Here is some follow up. I cleared NVC on March 8. I emailed the consulate and they told me that they knew the package was on its way because they had received the Case # from NVC. They told me it takes 2 months to clear customs. However I can send her the I-134 in 5-7 days by usps Global mail? using the online mail format will get you a response from the consulate in 3-5 days, save your money on calling them.

  8. Depends on how long you have been with State Farm. I am on the State Farm Mutual plan. I actually get dividend checks from them. My motorcycle, brand new, full coverage is $156 a year. State Farm is expensive to start but rewards its long term customers. As well, you get what you pay for. If I have a claim I take it to the body shop and its fixed, no questions, no claims adjuster. I would never switch companies.

I feel State Farm has outrageous premiums period. Before my SO even got here i checked into their rates and it was almost double for what i was paying currently. I thought hmm maybe cause its not a multi- policy rate, so i had them give me a premium for home owners insurance, $800 a year!!!!!! Mind you i pay $390 a year for the same coverage. Insane.
