  1. My trip went out jUST FINE!!!!

I had no problems at all at the immigration!

The only ting the Officer asked to see was my tickets back to Brazil.

Thank God He kept me calm.

Now I am back to Brazil to wait for my K1...

Good luck for who is trying to see your SO, There´s no need to worry like me! The immigration doesn´t have any link with the Visa´s department.

But be sure to bring as many proof you have always!

  2. I have a pending I-130 at csc, but the embassy in the uk have allowed me a 6 month tourist visa to travel to us with our newborn to see my husbands family, I have employment contract, lease agreement, letter from employer, proof the my husband lives in UK with me his, job contract and payslip. I did overstay my previous vwp cause of illness and have proof of illness. I am entering in orlando on 30th May. What do you think???????????

You will be fine! You´ve got a tourist visa like me.

Plus, your husband is not in the US.

Only show the proof if the immigration office asks you ok? That´s what i will do.

Lets wish good luck for each other, i will be traveling tomorrow.

Let me know if your trip went alright too.

  3. Thank you for the good news!

You made me feel a little bit better! I´m glad you understand how I feel about this. My fiancee keeps on telling me that everything is gonna be alright and that I will be with him soon... But women are women..

The only proof I will be bringing is a document from school saying that I just finished school and that my grauation will be on May 10. And I will be coming back to Brasil, before that of course!!! :) May 3.

I will let you know when I´m about to travel.

    Still waiting for Hannah´s news....

    I made it!

I know how happy I was when I found this topic too.

The trip to LAX was terrible.

I cant sleep on planes at the best of times, let alone when I'm about to be facing the demon that is L.A immigration.

It all went fine, actually. As per usual, I had worried myself into a state of complete hopelessness.

The line was huge when we finally all got off the plane. There were two officers for the visitors line and two for citizens, so they were stretched and rushed (which, in hindsight, probably helped).

As I was standing in line, I began to feel a whole lot better. The two men processing visitors were very friendly. There was laughing, explaining if anything was out of place and it wasn't an especially tense atmosphere.

My husband and I have somewhat of an involved immigration story and I was really worried about having to get into it. The only reason I could see I would have to explain it all, was the fiance visa we abandoned back in October showing up on my passport.

It obviously didnt show up, because all he asked was if I was conducting any business while in the States and when I replied no, what the purpose of my trip was.

I said I was on a vacation to visit family and friends.

He stamped everything, took some finger scan thingees and asked how long I was staying. I was a bit worried about this question too, as wed stretched it about as far as we could (80 days) without looking too suspicious.

    I replied 80 days.

    He was friendly and efficient.

I definitely worried too much, but I have a huge fear of uncertainty and the unknown, probably more than anything else, so I guess I couldn't have helped it anyways!

I think LAX is one of the best POE's for this as its so busy, Daniel/Lu

Because my husband and I didn't technically have a visa in process when I arrived, I felt it'd be ok to dodge the immigration conversation and just say I was visiting family and friends.

If I was in your situation, Id probably say I was visiting my fiance, just to be on the safe side.

I honestly don't think they'll blink an eye at it.

Maybe have a letter from an employer or something similar to show you do actually wanna go home. May make you feel better to have it for back up too.

Besides, if they get snooty about it, just tell them itd be foolish of you to overstay when youre so close to being with your fiance the legal way. (What reasonable person couldn't agree with that.)

Just be very calm, honest and smile! Immigration officers are just people too...

I'm very certain you wont have any problems.

Dont spend all your time worrying like I have! (Though I know you cant help it).

    Have an excellent trip!

Let me know if you need anything

  4. Hello,

We have just been approved for our NOA2 (Nov filer). My fiance has to take a test in USA on April18, should she apply for a tourist visa? I dont think her interview will happen before end june.

Very confused, as if she applies for a tourist visa, will it hinder the progress or even halt the process for the K1?

    Pls help

K-1 will hinder the Tourist visa, read the requirements to recieve a tourist visa. However, its all depends on the person you interview with. Case by case basis, it costs $100 to try, so go for it, nothing to lose but the $100. My wife and I got ours while waiting for our immigration application that is on hold over the Adam Walsh law. In fact, she got a 5 year multi-entry visa. Have a strong argument, strong proof of ties to current country, also, argue you are close to getting your K-1, why ruin that over trying to immigrate off your tourist visa that is not only illegal, but also can keep you out of the country for over 5 years. But read over all required for a tourist visa and be prepared and confident. Good luck.

I already have a tourist Visa valid till october 2009.

My fiancee will start the process in march and I am planning to go visit him in april.

Is it allowed for us to enter in the USA with our tourist VIsa while a K1 process is running??

    Thank you for the help!
