  1. What she said.

Just got in line, gave the guy my passport, the white little form that you have to fill out, the blue customs form, and the big junk-o-stuff (AKA, do not open).

He opened it, went through stuff, asked me where I met her. I answered... he looked through it for like 5-10 minutes...

Okay, you can go. He stapled some stuff onto my passport and I was off.

  2. Her voice was the first thing I truly began to love when I heard it. I love her voice. But when I finally met her, her hazel eyes and nice hair also sweetened things up. And then her smell, she smells nice. (nods sagely)

But they all are things I consider after her personality. In the past, we were faceless for a while, only getting text-based contact, and mainly through characters that somewhat resembled us. Always it was her personality that stood out above everything else.

  3. Yeah, but if you or someone you loved were subsequently a victim of that criminal who actually got into the US you wouldn't be laughing would you...

Its a tragic laugh, not a "funny" laugh. Catching 1300 out of 64,000,000 shows the system is horribly broken and ineffective. I find it extremely hard to believe that out of those 64 million, only 0.002% of them were fraudsters and criminals.

Without knowing exactly how many of those 64,000,000 TRAVELERS were actually 'convicts' (or criminals, whatever) that were /not/ allowed into the country...

(not to mention that some already get stopped BEFORE they even get into the USA)...

    Those numbers mean absolutely nothing.

  4. That's ridiculous.

Marriage laws are governed by the states and not the Federal government.

Have Harry ask his Dad what he's been smoking.... :bonk:

    Oh......tmma................WOOT WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Better question is what his /lawyer/ has been smoking.

Anyhow, I am glad to see that he is indeed wrong. I mean, he himself said he was only trying to help. >.> I think he pays his lawyer too much money.

  5. True's that. Never use something else. But there are people who still have old computers and can't run Skype unless they turn everything else off. I can see that, I mean.... yes, Skype is somewhat of a CPU / RAM guzzler.

I have quite the 'advanced' computer (not all that, but still) and it has trouble playing some low-end games while using Skype.

Anyhow, just wanted to let people know that they don't have to resort to MSN /IF/ such a thing as the death of Skype would occur.

  6. Mayo and Fries, Dutch boy approves!

I prefer to put newly cut pieces of onion through the mayo, to give it a slightly more 'fresh' taste.

Any while on the topic of Mayo... here's a easy dutch recipy for a chips-dip-sauce. But it can be used for fries too!

    Needed:

    1 small bowl

    1 fork

    1 spoon

    1 pot of Mayo

    1 bottle of Ketchup

    1 jar of mustard

    What do you do:

3 spoons of Mayo (use spoon)

1 spoon of ketchup (use same spoon)

1 spoon of mustard <not too strong of one> (use fork)

Mix it well. (use fork to mix)

A nice addition is to add italian seasoning through it. Just a little. A few drops of water to make it into a whole, and only THEN add the rest. Make sure that it becomes a mass, not have water left over. Water + Mayo... does not match if you want to use it again later. (The end result can stay well for about 1 more day if you put it in the fridge)

  7. Hi Arazia :star: .....Sorry to hear about Harry's situation at home right now. Hope you don't mind me saying this but it sounds like his dad is pretty wacko. How old is Harry's sister? I hope the two of you will ge your NOA2 soon.....atleast he will be with you in 14 days from now, giving him a break from all the looney stuff back at home.

    Take care (F)

ps: anyone had a visit from Sinterklaas today????? ;););););)

Meh, no Saint Nicolas for me. I got presents for 'zia though, since I will be staying over there during Christmas. Can't find anything good in Heerlen or Maastricht though. >.>

My sister is 17 years old.

And about my father... well, here's more fun. He's going to work in a foreign country for 5 years, meaning he'll be like... not home at all. And when I tell them that I am going to go to America, suddenly I am the bad guy. I see my mother growing more and more sad and desperate, as my father treats her more and more like (bad word was here). Sure, stress at work, I believe that. But my mom is much more devistated by my father leaving than me. I can see it by the way she moves and talks about it. Yet I get most of the fire directed at me, because that way I am a 'common scapegoat'. Which seems to be the easiest way for them to get rid of their own sorrow. *sigh*

Oh, and it will be a bit more than 14 days I believe. I don't know exactly.... don't care either. Every moment I have with Arazia will be used and cherished to the max.

  8. This part was interesting to think about

Religious fanatics have done things that are impossible to defend, and some of them, mostly in the Muslim world, are still performing horrors in the name of their creed. But if religion sometimes disposes people to self-righteousness and absolutism, it also provides a moral code that condemns the slaughter of innocents. In particular, the moral teachings of Jesus provide no support for - indeed they stand as a stern rebuke to - the historical injustices perpetrated in the name of Christianity.

    My husband and I....

Heh, as a former Christian... (Well, okay. Officially I am still one. But I don't believe.)... I can say that our history is not all that great. I mean, come on... the Crusade!? Oh, those people over there believe in a different god... let's kill them! That'll teach them to believe in our god. If you ask me, the Christians are worse than the Muslims. Mind you, I do not have full information on the latter, but I truly believe that Christian religion is worse. Why? Because it asumes that everyone is one! And if you are not, then burn in hell!

Even so. I say that when it comes to religion, there is no good or bad. The only bad part is if they start meddling with other cultures. The Christians condemn the Muslims for things like 'honor killings' and here in Holland it's a hot topic on their wearing of burkas and such... if it should be allowed to be banned or not. (even though it might not be religion, to them it's tradition.)

When in fact, do they have a right to say that people who were brought up in a completely different culture are wrong? Maybe the Christians are wrong? I say there is not even a wrong or right in such equasions.

Anyhow, enough for my babbling, getting off topic.

There has been a lot of death in this world, thanks to religion... but also there were there was a lack of!

Even in the ancient days, battles were fought to promote their gods. Even now it happends! Most recent is probably the stuff happening (I believe it is still going on) in Ireland. In Holland, Muslims are having a hard time living because of severe discrimination, based on their culture and beliefs. Is saddens me to see this.

But it's how a human works I guess. They are brought up with certain norms and believes, their own 'knowledge' on what is 'right' and what is 'wrong'. If others do not have these same believes, then they will conflict. Sure, there are exceptions and things that ease the conflict. But here in Holland I can observe quite well why things are going wrong. We try to apapt others to our way of life, so that we do not need to. And the other party (severity depending on topic) tries to do the same. If there is enough friction caused... ###### hits the fan.

I envy animals (asume non-humans) sometimes. They don't kill for their believes. They do not murder because 'it seemed like the right idea at the time', and they are in no way able to push one button and suddenly wipe out an entire continent. They hunt and kill to live. Sometimes to show affection to others. Like a cat bringing a mouse to its master.

Sure, there is a feeling of territory. And some want to expand. But never as far as we seem to take it.

But we have 'evolved' so far away from that 'cat', or other animal. We've found out that if we kill others in certain ways, other people with less power will do things our way. We are lost in the journey for more power.

Now in this, I do not mean 'we' with everyone that is on this world. There are enough pacifists and other types of people on this world that hate it.

    ....

Okay, that was a trail of thought of me just typing whatever come up in my head about the topic. Hehe, silly me, gets lost so easily. Mind you that I am not trying to offend anything, just showing that I /believe/ to know, or have learned in my nineteen tiny years of life.

    ----

On the mirror side, Religion has brought a lot of good as well. Breaking away from the topic of death caused by religion, it brought good. It grabbed people together under one flag. Sure, there were times this went seriously the wrong way. Several streams of Catholic religions have had their time in our world's past where the majority believed in something, and all people in the empire that practiced a different belief system or version, were killed! (Same god, different explaination of the same book... so glad novel writers like Tolkien or *insert random other writer here* does not have to go through that.)

But back to the good things. Yes, it brought people together. There have been many wars in our world, and often people took solace in their believes. I've noticed that people that truly believe in god or have certain religions have a much easier time to procede after a close one's death.

Religion brings people together, allows them to do things together. They feel safe under the same flag as a big group. For isn't it true that humans are pack animals? Living in huge groups?

I'd love to bet that if it was not for religion, we'd now have completely different country-borders. Either a lot of smaller countries, or one country that forced its power on others for the sheer greed that we seem to possess.

I think I am gonna stop here. Enough writing. *shifts his eyes around* Yeah, time for bed. *yoinks*

Oh, and for people who want to reply to me. I repeat, this are just things I believe to know, under no circumstances does this mean I believe this to be the only truth. Or that I am completely right.

  9. -Arazia,

I cant help BUT wonder “WHY” Harry hasn’t told his parents ANYTHING about YOU?!?!?

I have very good reasons, mainly the ones Arazia just outlined for you.

Hell, they know very well I am head over toes in love with her, but that does not mean that they agree with everything I do.

To inform you from my point of view, my parents are somewhat overprotective, and think that they know everything that is good for their children. They tend to be very controlling, and now facing that fact that their son (that's me) might be leaving them is causing quite some tension. My father always believed that I was really smart, because I got a high score on one of Holland's IQ tests, apparently that immediately making me a prodigy and should be scoring A+s on everything. My mother still sees me as a little kid she has to protect, and they also both believe that 'negative suggestions' are the way to inspire a person to do thing.

    Example:
I was doing a little bad in school:
"You are doing so bad in school, you are never going to make it, you might as well give up and go to MAVO." (Ya dutchies out there know what I am talking about.)

This was then later explained by them as 'pushing' me to do my best. You can see that this might not work on everyone? (I don't see how it would work on anyone to begin with)

And yes, there has been quite some more troubles brewing. My father is barely home, being the workaholic he is. Soon he'll be working in a foreign country, leaving my mom and my sister (and me?) behind at our house... just so he can earn us more money. I mean, sure it's a way of showing love. But he really isn't doing this for the best of the family if you ask me.

My mother is still overprotective. And BOTH of them think that I should finish school before even thinking of going to the US. But to me, they are holding me back, and have held me back for quite some time.

The problem for me is, how do I bring it to them without getting screwed in the process?

No, they don't have legal rights to know what I am doing. Nor can they fight me, as I am of legal age.

But still I should tell them. True.

It's just a little more complicated as it might show on the surface.

I've been waiting for my dad to return, he's been gone for the past. *ponder* two weeks now?

And the last time he was home, it was for half a day during which he was too sick to get out of bed. (Why does he travel when sick? I don't get it)

Anyhow... yeah. No need to shout at my Arazia. +.+ Or I will get you ( <-- That's an empty threat. I am way to nice to do anything.)

I do understand that you were trying to help... but without knowing the depth of the situation, your suggestions and 'help' came over as a bit violent // pushing.
