  1. My sister had her medical exam yesterday and the MD sent her to a psychiatrist to be evaluated. She is deaf-mute since birth, 18 years old and currently attending high school. This will totally delay the process, because her interview is on the 21st and the clinic is closed on Thus and Fri. It just pisses me off why she would order a psych eval when she is not mentally ill. She is handicapped with her hearing, but that's all. She excels in school and can communicate through sign language. It not her fault the doc does not sign. So frustrating! Should I reschedule interview date? or have her go without finishing the medical exam?

  2. I am a USC petitioning my mom. I filed I 130 on July 9,2010. Her application is already on NVC. When I sent the IV packet they found something missing. It's a police certificate from Israel. My mom worked in Israel for almost 8 years, over stayed her visa and came home in 2005. When I receive the RFE, I sent my mom to the Israeli embassy in Manila to get the certificate. According to them it will take a month before they can send a certificate to the NVC if they can since she was a TNT for 3 years. I am starting to be concerned of how it will affect her visa application. Not to mention the time that we have to wait for that certificate. Anybody has an input of what we can do or anyone who has the same experience? I am actually starting to regret putting that information in my mom's application. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance..

  3. Who is Eligible to Sponsor a Sibling?

If you are a U.S. citizen and at least 21 years old, you are eligible to petition to bring your brother or sister to live and work permanently in the United States. If you are a lawful permanent resident, you are not eligible as in your moms case to apply to bring your brother or sister to live and work permanently in the United States.

Thanks for the reply, but I am asking about my mom petitioning my sister? she will be coming here any month now, so I am wondering how long will it take her once she gets to the US to petition my 15 yr old sister?

  4. Hi there, I understand your frustration. I was hoping you will tell us that you got your NOA2. I saw a couple of approvals for September filers in CSC so I am upset that CSC transferred us to TSC and then CSC turned around and started processing September filers. It is not fair at all. Now, this waiting game is insane but can't do anything but wait. Please send our NOA2 now please.....:(

This is really frustrating. I applied for my mom last July. I received a letter that they transferred my application from CSC to TSC.Never heard anything since then.

  5. Hi guys. I'm new here in VJ.

I filed the I130 for my Mom on the 12th of August and got a NOA dated on the 19th of August.

Then my case was transferred to Texas on Nov. 3, 2010.

So far I don't have any updates yet till now.

My problem is I'm giving birth this coming March, my first baby

and my Mom's first grandchild and I want her to be here even just on the time I deliver.

Do I need to call them or send any letter?

I hope you can help me guys. Thank you.

I sent my mom's application last July and received NOA1 the next month and never heard anything since then. So I am still waiting..

  6. I applied I-130 for my mom on July 5th and received a receipt number on the 19th of July. I tried checking the status of my application a week after that, but it says that cannot be found. I called up two weeks ago and they said they received my application and that it really takes a while for their system to be updated. Until now, I still can't check it. Should I be concerned?

  7. I passed the interview and test yesterday in Miami.

The officer was very nice, we went through the whole have you ever, and are you willing to...

    the questions were easy

    1) the name of the National Anthem

    2) what ocean is on the West Coast?

    3) what is the "rule of law"?

    4) What happened on 9/11/01?

3)At what age can citizens vote?

    6) What do the 13 stripes represent?

She made me read: How many Senators do we have?

    answer: We have 100 Senators.

Good luck for all those who will have their interviews

Congratulations! I got approved on the same day..cheers to us!

  8. hello you need to use the receipt number in the biometrics appointment

so you can check the status of your application

This is right. The receipt number on the NOA is an internal number and not tied into the online status update option. You will notice that the biometrics letter has a different case number. Look up that number instead. If it doesn't work, wait a few days, possibly even until after biometrics are done and then check again. Good luck.

yes I noticed that and I am usin thr receipt number in my biomrtrics appt..still can't br found..

  9. hi..I sent my I-751 on the first of April and received the NOA1 on the 5th. I also received the BIO appt on the 15th, but I can't find my status online. Is this normal? I thought as soon as I have my application number I can already check it. Is there anybody who has the same experience? I think I'm just getting worried too much. Maybe it's nothing..Thanks guys!

  10. I've been waiting for my Social security card for five weeks now (applied in Somerville MA). I phoned this morning and they said that if it doesn't come in six weeks I need to phone USCIS and see what the hold-up is at their end.

    Grrr!

It makes me worry that there's something wrong with our Immigration status if they're taking this long to verify that I'm entitled to the card. Does it often take this long?

On top of that USCIS have lost my original medical exam results from the UK, so I have to go for another and the whole thing is on hold again until I take another medical exam here.

It's like banging your head on the wall sometimes!

i just get mine today..not the card though..i went to the local office to pick my number up..i applied may 21st..this is the 8th week i believe..i called them every week & they always say that they need the DHS to verify the evidence i submitted..at last after 8 weeks of waiting i got it..feels like the same amount of time i waited for my greencard..almost!be patient!
