  1. im just wondering why AOS applicants need to apply foe EAD when they'll get their green card. It should suffice the employers if you apply for a job right?

    What do you mean?

The AOS isn't instantaneous. EAD allows you to work while you wait for your green card.

Exactly! My husband's AOS took 9 months. Others on here took much longer. Some on here have been waiting years. EAD is essential if you plan to work while you wait for your AOS to be approved and green card in hand. Once the green card is in YOUR hands, it IS sufficient for employers. Until then, unless you plan on staying home and not working at all, you'll need the EAD.

well, i guess it depends on the state coz here in CA, they didnt ask for my EAD when i applied for a job, I just showed them my ssn and passport. I just told them that im still waiting for my aos and that it may take longer. i got my biometrics already so, im hoping to get noa soon.

  2. I already have my medical and interview appointment date but we would like to request for an early schedule because our son, who is an American citizen needed immediate medical care. I already looked into the US Embassy site in Manila and found how to request for an early appointment. My problem is with the Visa Point pin. I dont know what this is. It says here Visa point pin must be provided if you scheduled your appointment thru visa point website. Im all confused here. I dont understand since we didnt schedule our appoinment thru that.

    Please help..

  4. got the approval and the petition is being sent to the US embassy in Manila.. does anyone know how to track the petition using the case number to check the status of it to see if it already arrived there in Manila? i was hoping my fiancee would get her packet this week but she told me, she hasnt. it left the NVC jan 5. It should be there by now and should be processed. dont u think? anyone knows any site to track 'em? thanks

  5. can anyone help? i just want to know how long does it take for the NVC to forward the approved petition from USCIS to MAnla Embassy? I already received the approval notice and they said that it has been forwarded to Manila already. I was hoping my fiancee would get her packet for interview sked this week since it had been a month now. Thanks!

  6. help! i just want to know if the previous annuled marriage would somehow affect my current petition. I was married to a filipina before but the marriage didnt work out. i filed for an annulment 19998 and was granted 1999. She never appeared on the court since she already took off prior to the filling and I was left with no idea whre my ex wife was. Her mother is actually the one who counter signed the papers in behalf of her. Im just really worried this might be a question to the USCIS and it'll affect our petition. My fiancee nad I has child already and he is already an American citizen.

  7. im kinda bummed out that we still havent gotten any NOA2. We filed our petition last October and we still dont get any notice whatsoever. Of course Im happy to know that some Oct filers are being appoved already. I just wish we'll hear from the USCIS soon. Some say it could take 6 months for some people especially if they are previously married. Oh, I'll be so depressed if it'll take that long.

  8. I am currently unemployed but has assets that I can show. I own my house now and have money in the bank. Will I and my fiancee need a co sponsor for our petition? I want to know how much is the required annual income for them to approve it? Im just afrain this might catch us off guard.

    Thanks!

  9. i am new here with such a sad and unbelievable storyi have no idea where to start from.our story was a fairy tail ,,,a love story that started online and ended up here in the us.after a long and tiresome k1 procedure we managed to get together and finally my dream come true as the love of my life made it to the usa.however, and when i thought that the happiness is finally on our side ,things took another shape and misunderstandings showed up and our life together became something i have never expected.anyway after all that he run away and went somewhere else . we haven t get married yet and i am so confused now that i don t know what to do .

does he have the right to stay here away from me ??? does he have the right work ??? i m so afraid he ll meet somebody else "that would kill me " in that case does he have the right to marry her??? what about his status here ????

please i m in a desperate need of an advice....thank you

If it would kill you that he met someone else I would suggest that you get therapy. If he cmes back I suggest you both get therapy. Remember if you signed the affadavit of support you are responsible

thats really sad.. if i were you, report this to the authority.. be a stinker so he'll learn his lesson.. move on and be happy. u deserve someone better

  10. i know of someone who hired a lawyer and got his petitioed approved by the USCIS after a week or so. he filed his petition July 24, 2006, got the NOA1 July 28 and got the approval August 4. Dont you think its odd to know that some people can get an edge to others? His fiancee got the medical date August 31 and interview date Sept 5! can you imagine that?

  11. Oh geezzz! Is it best to keep on calling them to follow up my petition? I really want my fiancee to come here and so is our son who keeps on getting sick due to the pollution there in the Philippines. he developed asthma because their neighbors burn their garbage ( a normal practice there) .our son is already an american citizen since I already filed a petition for him to get a consular birth in abroad.

How long do you think will we have to wait until we get the approval of the petition?I filed it last Oct 3, 2006 and got the NOA1 Oct 6, 2006
