  1. I got this chain email about not pumping gas on 5/15. Sounds interesting just to see if it has any effect.

I will copy and paste it

If you agree with the message, please follow through.

    NO GAS...On May 15th 2007

Body: Don't pump gas on may 15th

Body: ...in April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take

$2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companys pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day.

If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldnt) resend this to all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

  2. The consulate does get the packet. I think the line of thinking for sending the copy to the beneficiary is so they can be familar with everything that the petitioner filled out in their portion.

Sort of what I was thinking. THEY(the gov) already approved the 129F without any RFEs. My SO is chinese, I have already emailed her a copy the (how we met part) and a copy of the NOA2 I received.

I don't want to weigh her down with more paper just for the heck of it. I have a plenty of doc to send her just for the 134 Affadavit.

How much more proof do you need of an ongoing realtionship ? I was just planning on sending emails and updated letter of intent. We do not talk on the phone very much since we both like emailing because of time difference and lanquage. I proably will not travel back over there until I pick her up

  3. I was wondering what do people think about requiring a proof of meeting as being a Westernized, cultural phenom? I was thinking that in Eastern cultures that with arranged marriages and such that having a proof of meeting requirement would stack the cards against cultures which do not have the same romantic conception of a relationship like the States?

    Just a thought...

In this case I think it is more about sham marriages and green card fraud.

There was an instance where the overseas person would pay a fee to a USC just to get over here.

You could have an arranged marriage in the USA if both people were already citizens and agreeable to it.

  4. I filed on 12/14 and received Email notice

    Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On February 27, 2007, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this

I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the

notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service.

What to do what to do. Nervous is me.

    134 stuff get it together

    Wait for the notice

    and what else ?

How much longer does the process usually take from here on out ?

Now you just wait and watch as it goes to the NVC them to the embassy...start gathering evidence of ongoing relationship...affidavit of support info...and read up on similar cases with regard to the Chinese Embassy. Congrats by the way...the first part is over! Your other half will now be waiting for packet 3 with instructions on the medical. Have they applied to the police reports yet? Thats always something that can be done now as well. Good Luck

Beleive it or not she has already gotten the police report and unmarried report and birth certificate(I sent a copy of her BC with my 129F) Translated and notarized. She sent it all to me and now I have to send it all back. She applied for all this before I sent for the 129F. It took me about a month to get the 129F together.

  6. I mailed my 129F yesterday after going over it several time. Last night while laying in bed I remembered I forgot to send any email messages between us as proof of haveing met.

I had tons of other stuff 5 pictures, boarding passes, copies of visa with stamps from china, hotel bill, tickets of places visited.

What should I do ? Can I send some email in a separate package and tell them to attach to my other document ? Do I have to just wait and see if they RFE me

    Thanks for any help

  7. For China bound petitions, DON'T send in the notarial translations with the I-129F. You'll need them once she does her medical. Hopefully the interview date is one year or less from the documents or else you will have to get Single Certificate and Police Certificate again.

As to the date issue: I would handle this in the cover letter.. note the date notation used by the signer and clearly show the western equivalent.

As to the I-129F need for native alphabet: You can try to have her email it to you.. then copy and paste into the form.

I asked someone who speaks chinese about this and they said you really don't need the chinese characters to mail something to an address and that the english version works fine. I still think I need it for question 16 on the 129f

  8. Thanks for those answers. I think I will just notate the date change. I have enough documents that show I was over there in the november timeframe to fill a small book.

Reading the many post on this board I wish there was a way to send my stuff to vermont instead of texas. If the government was run like a private buisness who would put up with one branch of your company being twice as slow as the other.

Anybody of thinking about going over to china(I was in Shenzhen). I recomend buying one of these hand held translators. You write in english and it translates to chinese. She writes in chinese and translates to english. about 1900 yuan(about 300 bucks).

I am most worried about her being dissapointed in America when she gets here. She has a very good life in shenzhen manageing her sisters buisness. She has a very close faimly and they all wanted her to marry. She is 35 and never married. I was struck as we walked all over that place late at night sometimes how safe it is for women and children and how easy they all interact with one another even when they are squabbling over the price of a taxi or piece of clothing.

Of course I heard horror stories before I went over but happily surprised with the actual reality of it. The people just seemed to coexist with a certain amount of civility even though some have a very hard life and have to live within that poltical system.

  9. I am getting ready to turn im my 129F and I notice

my fiance as sent me 3 notarized documents about being unmarried, born in Shanwei and and not haveing committed any crime. I don't see where I need to turn these in with the 129F. Anybody know when and how these will be used ?

Another question, when I was there she filled out the G-325 stuff and dated these wrong 2-11-06 instead of 11-02-06. Any problems is I change these myself(just mark through)

She is in China and I'm in the USA

    Thanks in advance
